In the original series Kakashi was one of the strongest characters, the Akatsuki was this super secret cool mysterious organization, and everyone could enjoy the power of youth

In the new series you get amazing backstory, heavier plot, and way more feels

Tough choice, but really you can't have one without the other so I can't pick favorites personally

Tough choice for me... I dunno I think I really gotta go with the original, not many people care about part 1 and ignores it some times. I guess I like both equally, but part 1 just a bit over due to me growing up with it through out middle school year. Haha I remember the hype back in my school when everyone was happily freaking out that Naruto finally grows up in Shippuden xD

I dropped Naruto once it went into Shippuden, and I was obsessed with the series at the time, but it just became too trivial. I also began loosing interest in Shonen in general, the stories seem too similar. I do appreciate you putting up Opening 6, that was my favorites. I am glade it is doing whell do not quote me wrong, but still the original start was the best.

one of the reasons why i like the original series more is because all of the characters got attention, while in shippuden its always trying to promote the whole naruto and sasuke thing and no one else gets noticed. also in the original series the characters weren't so damn serious.

Well... Here's my review. I was able to read the chapter last night, but fell asleep after reading the chapter.

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD! Screw the name Uber-Brows, Gai's dad, Might Dai, reigns supreme!

Who expected a flashback of Might Gai? I didn't. And Holy Sh!t, 'dem flames.

Gai's comrades tried to stop him from using the eight gate, but attempts were useless, as he heads to where Madara is, he recalls a flashback of him and his father.

His father's name was Might Dai, who is a genin level ninja, and was frowned upon. Despite the situation, he had a youthful attitude that surpasses Might Gai. During his time, he spent 20 years practicing and was able to open all gates. His son, Might Gai, was in a similar situation as Lee, couldn't do Ninjutsu, and Genjutsu (Kishi, how is Gai able to summon Turtles?). With massive persuasion, and teaching, he passed on his legacy, the youthful attitude and the knowledge of the Eight Gates to Might Gai. How he died?

It's obvious... He opened the final gate, and defeated all the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist to protect his comrades and his son.

Before leaving, he gave Gai an absolute rule. Never use the final gate, unless it is to protect the ones care for, if the situation is grim as hell.

Before moving to current timeline, let me talk about Might Dai. This guy, surpassed Might Gai Uberness. While he had hair with bowl cut brushed to the left, not only his freaking eyebrows contribute to the uberness, his Mustache and Goatee wear so thick, that you would think you are seeing bigfoot. Leave it to Kishi to create something like this.

Moving on, Might Gai opens the final gate, and suddenly burst into flames. Everything was on fire. His hair's on fire, his fists are on fire, and even his brows have flames! He has became the Red Beast of Konoha. Madara disregards the Eight Gate, and calls the scenery he sees "the color of rotten red leaves that had fallen into the ground." While the scenery shown is true, Gai counters and says that he will not rot and die, but become the nourishment for the fresh new leaves, and when Spring comes and the fresh leaves the bud, it will be at the peak of youth. Gai appears right before him from a far distance, surprising Madara greatly, and begins his new and possibly last technique, the Evening Elephant. (figured it will be called Evening, but Elephant?)

Never expected a flashback. Nope, but at least Kishi was able to provide a backstory for Gai before he goes all out. The next chapter will focus on Gai raping Madara with the Evening Elephant. Dis Gun B Gud.

Sadly, as expected, Gai will die. Unless some plot twist occurs.

What do you guys think of this chapter, and what's your predictions?

And now for the Hashtags: #RIPGai #EveningElephant #RedBeastofKonoha #MadaraSurprised #Gai'sDad #MightDai #MightDaiGeninForever #MightDai'sEpicMustacheandGoatee #Dai'sLegacy #Gai'sLegacy #MadaraWillBeRaped #What'sNarutoUpTo? #WakeUpSasuke! #NarutoandSasukePowerupsComingSoon

Quit stealing my hashtag bits!! DX #Copycats (I'm looking at you too Spidey!)

Anyways, Oh my Sage of Six Paths, this chapter has me so hyped for Gai VS Madara! The Eight Gates are all open and Gai is ready to unleash the Evening Elephant. Before he does though, we get some feels with Gai, Kakashi, Minato, and of course, Lee, who is crying pretty much all of this chapter. And Minato mentions Gai's father before he takes off too, which triggers a flashback Gai has as he runs towards Madara. The flashback helps develop Gai's character and introduces us to his father, Might Dai. He's labelled as an eternal genin and is the original goofy ass, big eyebrows Bruce Lee clone, ladies and gentleman, and the flashback features him passing on the whole "Springtime of Youth" philosophy with Gai, some father-son bonding, as well as Dai showing off the Gates to Gai for the first time, and even Dai saving Gai, Genma, and Ebisu from the Seven Swordsman of the Mist (a much younger incarnation of course with no Zabuza and even freaking Raiga from the Curry of Life Arc in the O.G. Naruto anime is here! I guess Kishimoto decided to give that show's anime team a nod. Can't blame him, Raiga was pretty cool.) Dai of course uses all Eight Gates, or at least it seems, they don't show his death, but they probably will next chapter to coincide with his son Gai going Eight Gates and after, ahem, GAI LAYS THE SMACKDOWN ON MADARA'S ASS! WHOOOOO!

Ahem, and yeah, that's the chapter. Like I said, SO HYPED :D. #GaiVSMadara #RedSpring #MightDai #EveningElephant

So many feels from that flashback... ;_; Also, unless I was too tired to read properly, I swear that the translation I was using said "Might Guy" was Guy/Gai's father's name... Dat confusion. Either way, Gate of Death look freaking amazing. Too bad that it also means that Guy will die...

Gonna ignore this P1 vs P2 debate that went on, too.

Meh, I just don't like getting involved in P1 vs P2 discussions. I already made a whole rant thread about why I personally prefer Shippuden, and I don't want to exhaust myself again by going on about the same reasons.

http://kh13.com/forum/topic/63493-naruto-shippuden/?hl=%20naruto%20%20shippuden

Towards the bottom of that page (I actually just searched it because I wanted to see what I wrote about it xD). It got merged into another thread about the Shippuden movies.

1. ok fair enough at least naruto isnt saying believe it in every one of his lines

2. The supporting characters get very little focus in or after the pain ark in shippuden really, and in the chunin ark is where hinata, ino, neji, and lee got their backstory and their time in the spotlight. Hell even in the ino vs sakura fight thats the only time sakura has gotten any backstory. A lot of the fights in P1 feel more like real strategic fights instead of who can blow the biggest energy fart at one another, especially in the first season. Though some of the fights like the itachi vs sasuke fight felt really thought out.

3.Ok I can agree that the characters deaths were pretty great in shippuden(ACTUALLY NO THEY WERENT WHY DID JIRAIYA HAVE TO DIE DAMMIT), but the zabuza and haku death still takes the win imo.

4.A lot of people say that because naruto can get pretty whiney about sasuke in shippuden, and not to mention most of the openings focus on the whole naruto and sasuke thing, even when sasuke isnt even present that often.

just wanted to comment on it

1. They actually stopped that at the Chunin Exams in the dub.

2. During the Gokage Summit arc, the entire Konoha 11 aside from Naruto planned about what to do with the issue about Sasuke. Also, a lot of supporting characters have gotten some development in the war arc (Like a certain character who died during the war, and we're also getting a lot of backstory about one who's going to die within the next few chapters). Part 2 had a lot of strategy to it, too. Pain vs Jiraiya, Naruto vs Jiraiya, the battle against Tobi, Sakura and Chiyo vs Sasori, Shikamaru vs Hidan... Just a few of them. Some of Part 1's felt very strategic, but a lot of them felt more like Naruto just shouting and lucking out to me.

3. I'd have to go with

Itachi and Jiraiya

for the saddest deaths. Zabuza and Haku were sad, but we still hadn't seen much of them at that point.

Although I have to say, the stuff that went down after they were temporarily revived during the war arc got pretty emotional.

4. Well, the whole point is Naruto trying to bring Sasuke back. A lot of the other ninja helped him out with that, too. Naruto's main goal for Shippuden was to get Sasuke to return to the village. The Akatsuki were important too, but in the end, he wanted to have his friend return to the village. Sasuke was one of the very first people who Naruto formed a bond with, so it's no surprised that he'd want him to return.

4. In part 1 sasuke was basically calling naruto a little shit and sitting in his little emo corner so I don't know why naruto would want him back anyways.

Also you need to rewatch this, you will surely get the feels(also the naruto dvd versions are on youtube now! how cool is that?)

It's because Naruto saw Sasuke as a rival, and Sasuke pretty much saw Naruto as one, too. They'd been pushing each other from the start (Land of Waves arc, when they were climbing the trees, for example), and even though they acted like they hated each other, they knew that they were each other's best friends. Sasuke even said that Naruto was the one he had to kill to awaken the Mangekyou Sharingan, which would only be awoken if an Uchiha killed their closest friend.

Kishimoto probably needs to kill off sasuke, hes made him insane beyond repair. Also is Sasuke supposed to be gay or something? He had the potential to get soooo much pussay but he always pushed the ladies away.

Sasuke's actually helping out the Leaf now, after talking to Itachi again, as well as the Edo Tensei revived Hokage. He still has some hate for the Leaf I think, but instead of destroying the village, he seems to be trying to change their ways.

I think Sasuke just never really cared about anything relationship-wise. He was more focused on killing Itachi or destroying the Leaf, he never really cared.

oh...I guess thats what I get for not keeping up with the series I guess, I'm just playing storm 3 full burst(which butchers so many details out of the story when comparing it to the anime/manga) and that only goes to the sasuke and itachi vs kabuto fight, which I haven't even gotten to yet. Its a really fun game though, and i love how i dont have to remember a million difficult commands for combos like other fighting games(though naruto games have always been like that)

Also where the hell does zetsu come from I seriously still know nothing about that thing

hehehehehe.... You are far behind. Very far behind.

maybe when you play Storm Revolution when it comes out soon this year, you get to see how Zetsu came. You could also watch anime episodes close to the 330s and work your way up.

as for Zetsu?

They were imperfect clones of Hashirama that Madara was trying to create during the time he was alive after the final fight against Hashirama to the time where he saved Obito and manipulated him. There are three types: White zetsu, one of the Hashirama artifact clones, spiral zetsu, a humorous clone that is an inspiration to how Tobi was created. He has recently made his return in the manga, and many people predict is Yamato being controlled, and Black Zetsu, known as Madara's will, who was formed before Madara died, whose purpose is to make sure Obito is doing his job and not straying afar.

Okay I've Always Wondered...

How come Jiraiya (One of the 3 legendary sannin) never got brought back to life by edo tensei like all the other characters who died in the Naruto series did? I'm a bit confused on how he never got reanimated. Can someone explain this?

The Edo Tensei requires a DNA sample of whoever you intend on bringing back. Kabuto stated that since Jiraya's body was located so far beneath the water in the Rain Village, he couldn't safely retrieve it without being crushed by the pressure. This was likely just an excuse to honor Jiraya's death.

Same could be said about many of the Ninjas that Kabuto brought back especially the original Madara who has exited decades before Kabuto even born so I'm not sure how Kabuto got the DNA of Madara or some of the other Ninja's that he could've never possibly obtain their DNA especially those who died without burial or any part of their corpses left

Heck how in the world did Kabuto revive Deidara when the dude literally BLOW HIMSELF TO SMITHEREENS WITHOUT ANY TRACE OF RETRIEVABLE DNA?

It's quite possible Orchimaru obtained DNA from the Akatsuki members without their knowledge while he was still a member, which would explain why Kabuto would have had access to it.
