Moni_22 335 Posted September 13, 2014 I really don't take IGN seriously anymore But if they gave it a good mark I guess it's ok.

Moni_22 335 Posted September 13, 2014 Their reviews are usually spot on and their content is second to none. The reviews aren't usually bad but... I've seen some of them that were... horrible to say the least. I mean, when it comes to hype games, they make a good job, but on "minor" games that doesn't have the same attention like the others, they are like lazy and just say whatever. Like instead of playing the actual game, they just watch the trailers and make a review on that. At least that's how I see it.

I just do for ones I'm interested in and I feel they're spot on most of the time.
Moni_22 335 Posted September 13, 2014 Ah, well I don't read/watch them all. I just do for ones I'm interested in and I feel they're spot on most of the time. Like I said they're normally fine. But I've seen some of them, especially on their YT channel, that were terrible! And it's usually the games that are not that popular (but still good games), you just have to see the dislikes and people's comments to see how unfair they are I'm not saying those games are the best and they deserve a 10/10, but like... Take Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Sky, they gave it a 4,9 because they said it was the same as Darkness/Time. First, you can't be like that, it's a third version, of course they are almost the same game. When you review it you have to see ir as a game, not a "third version game". The game itselft is amazing (it's actually one of my favourites games of all time), and if you are going to compare it to Darkness/Time, play it, and see for yourself that it has A LOT of new things. They were really unfair with that game. They gave Platinum 8,8 and Emerald 8, and they were third version games too.

Sora96 17,256 Posted September 13, 2014 I imagine they didn't. I think they really should choose good reviewers for every game. Well in your example, the reviewer/s are probably long gone. IGN got rid of a lot of their Nintendo editors awhile ago.

Dr. Shimo 202 Posted September 13, 2014 If I remember correctly, the person who reviewed Gates to Infinity based his negative review on the badness of the other ones (that he felt) and how it felt too much the same. Not sure if it was the same guy. But though I have heard that the game isn't as good as the ones before it, I still thought it unfair to be nitpicky about a sequel being a sequel -_- 1 Moni_22 reacted to this

Lol? Take Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Sky, they gave it a 4,9 because they said it was the same as Darkness/Time. Jack DeVries reviewed it for IGN. I've never heard of him. Must be long gone. Comic reviews from them can be nice too depending on the writer
