~Link Baxter~Miles kept him from his initial goal: rescuing the Mage. However, Link wasn't just going to give up. Walking back to the hut, Miles peacefully followed him."What were you thinking?" He'd say. "You almost got yourself killed! What would happen to me if you weren't here?" Miles went into the hut first. Link followed him back in. Or so he let Miles think. Link quickly dodged his way out of Miles site, hopped up on Susan, and quickly rushed back to help the Mage.~Miles Thompson~"Next time, be more careful? I know you wanted to help the guy, but-" It took Miles a few seconds to realize that he'd been tricked. He hurried back outside, stumbling occasionally, trying to see what had happened. He looked down the street, and there was Link, riding away on Susan."Link! Get back here!"

The Scotsman was looking around as he strolled, still clueless as to where he was or what was happening. He had jut woken up mere hours ago, and scratches his head as he walks. Although he had a custom-made peg leg, the Scotsman walks as though it wasn't even there, but he still had questions that needed answers. He speaks loudly to himself as his kilt sways following the movements of his legs.

"I don't know.....where in the bloomin' world I am!"

 

He sees a guard up ahead, with the two thieves, and his green eyes widen as he hurries over to the three.

"OI! YOU THERE! AYE, PUNY LADDIE!!!" 

The Scotsman then realizes that the guard had his sword drawn at the thieves.

"Oi, why are ya pointin' that wimpy, pathetic, toothpick excuse for a weapon at these harmless kiddies??"

The guard rolled his eyes. He was very aggravated. "By the gods!" He looked over to the man. "Leave me alone, before I arrest ALL OF YOU." He kept pointing his sword at the thieves. "These two stupid thieves stole an item from a merchant. I'm not leaving until they give it back!" He growled. Meanwhile Silver was soon dragged into a forest, with the guard in tow. "Look at the bright side; you're not going to get your head chopped off. Even though it's less painful and shorter than getting hanged, at least your blood won't make a mess." Silver rolled his eyes. He tried his best to reach the tag. Maybe if he dislocated his shoulder he might reach it... He couldn't get out of the binds anyway. They both was unaware of Link who was coming for them. The Scotsman raises an eyebrow. The guard's irritable tone doesn't settle well with the man.

'Oi! I'm a needin' help! I don't know where I am, wee laddie!....Hold on..."

He walks over to the two kids, and looks at them, leaning over. The Scotsman's size and brutish physique were masked by his harmless and kind expression.

"What was it you wee lil' kiddies stole from the money-grubbin' weasel?"

Ender held up the golden necklace, the heart of it shining in the sunlight.

"It's only a present." He said, a small smile on his face.

"What are we gonna do Ender...?" his little sister asked.

"I can improvise." He muttered.

You see, back in Ender's past, he could simply teleport away in a situation like this. However his power and past are gone now, so he is in a bit of a situation.

"You see, my little sister here...well her birthday is today and I decided that I wanted to get her something." Ender announced.

Today actually was Sandra's birthday.

"My parents are gone and lost, and I strive for a job. However...why get one when you are a master thief?" Ender asked in a cocky tone.

He suddenly swooped himself around and faced the crowd he just ran through. However before running off again, he tilt his head back.

"See ya." He said, a mischievous grin was paint on his face.

Ender immidently took off as fast as his legs could take him, sure he pushed some people out of his way, but he was thin and swift and the crowd was thick. The guard would have a hard time finding him in that crowd.

The Scotsman raises an eyebrow at Ender's response.

"Now, I don't believe that ya oughta go around stealing wee laddie...."

He growls in annoyance as the boy takes off, then pursues the two kids. He pushes and shoves people out of his way with little effort and paying no mind.

"OI!! Come back!!! Who celebrates a birthday like this!?"

The guard yelled out in intense annoyance as Ender ran away. He didn't even care about the Scotsman anymore. "GET BACK HERE!" He screeched, sprinting and shoving the Scotsman out of he way. He still had his sword drawn. "I'm going to stab you in the face!!!"

(Oh my I feel like I should make this an actual character... What to do...)

"Well good luck with that..." Ender muttered to himself after the gaurd threatened the two.

"Say Sandra, you do want this for your birthday, right?" Ender asked his litttle sister.

Sandra nodded and the two arrived at the market they stole the necklace from, Ender snatching an identitcle golden heart necklace and putting the true one in his pocket. Once the two reached the end of the crowd, Ender sat Sandra down and held his hands up, the fake in his right hand.

"I surrender." He said, a serious look on his face.

The guard caught up to them finally. Upon seeing the two, he gave an aggravated growl and snatched the necklace out of Ender's hand upon walking up to them. "I should arrest you for just wasting my time, peasant. Consider this a warning; if you go so far as to even get on my nerves, your little sister won't have a brother on her birthday. Got it?" He turned around and hoped to God the Scotsman wasn't behind him.

"Ahhhhhhhhh..." Yu said quietly to himself, yawning and sprawling across his bed. 

"Wonder what's for breakfast." He said in a loud voice, hoping for a reply.

"Toast Yu!" His sister shouted up to him.

Yu just smiled and got out of bed. Minutes had past and Yu got into his school uniform. It was just a regular day at the office for Yu. He snatched a bit of toast before his sister could get to it and smirked at her. "Yuuuu! Why did you do that!" Yu's sister whined at him. 

"Awww, I'm sorry Naomi, here you go." Yu said to Naomi, breaking a part of the toast off for her.

"Thank you, Yuuu!" She hugged him tight. Yu smiled and pat her on the head.

"Have fun at school Yu!" Naomi shouted, his parents also shouted after her. Yu headed to school.

~Link Baxter~ The Guard and his "Prisoner" had left the town, but there was a trail leading into a nearby forest. Kinda clumsy of a guard to leave a body trail."Hyah!" He yelled, signalling Susan to go faster. In the distance, there they were; that Mage and his Keeper. Wasn't as hard to catch up to them as Link thought it would be. He slowed his horse to a stop, and with a great Neigh, Susan threw his front legs in the air before throwing them back down to the ground.~Miles Thompson~ What was he planning to do? Miles wondered. What am I going to do? The problem kept rising. Link was his best friend, but he was also his caretaker. Sure, Miles could take care of himself, but no matter what. he would always need Link for something. Walking back to the shop, Miles keep going through the events occurring around him in his head. So much had happened today, in a town that almost never had any problems ever. Thieves, Mages, and Guards? That combination never works out for anyone.  "There 'ya are, Kid! I was worried sick!" Cid greeted him at the open area near the shop, where they do most of the tinkering. Miles just shrugged, and walked back to the catapult. "Look kid, I saw Link run past this shop a little while ago. Don't worry, he's a big boy, I'm sure he'll be back in no time flat." He said slapping Miles' back, nearly knocking the air out of him. "Yeah, sure. But what about that Mage kid? Once Link saves him, what's next for us? I doubt we'll be allowed to wonder the state freely." Miles looked up at Cid, who was in his late thirties. "Hehe, you just don't worry about that for now." He responded with a wide grin.

The Scotsman had lost them in the crowd, and was grumbling after the guard pushed him aside.

"Great! Now my answers canno' be found! Oi! Can't anyone help!?"

The guard looked away from Silver and over to Link. "...You're bigger than me so this isn't fair!" He gulped at the gigantic horse before him. He drew his sword. "He's a criminal and you really want to save him?!"

Silver rolled his eyes. "Hey, you're a terrible guard" he looked over to Link. "I didn't do anything! All I had on me was a relic."

 

Meanwhile the guard grumbled and walked over to the Scotsman, leaving the thieves to do whatever. He got the necklace back. That's all that matters. "Hey pirate. What the hell are you doing here anyway?" He asked with arms crossed. "Make it quick. I don't need to waste any more time."

~Link Baxter~Link hopped down from his horse. He slowly walked up to the Guard, taking each step with precision. Once he got close enough, Link rose his sword and pointed it directly at him. He didn't say anything, he just stared, and waited. Waited for the Guard to make his move. Was he going to be passive and let this poor boy go, or was he going to keep at it and fight him? Either way, Link was ready. His unbreaking glare continued, his unmoving feet, steadfast.~Miles Thompson~"Look at the sun. It's about that time." Cid looked towards the boy, giving him a signal that it was time for him to leave."To do what? Go home? Not going to happen." Miles answered back. Cid smiled, looking around to make sure that they were alone."I was hoping you'd say that."

"I..I prefer to hold it this way. And I'm not weird, I'm just different. Now let's hurry."  Ventus took off. He didn't care if Roxas was behind, but... He looked back at Roxas.

"Hurry up!" he stopped and waited for him. The market wasn't that far, he just wanted to go to the library after he was done with the groceries. And from his point of view, he could see a lot of commotion going on. 

 

"Awww... you are so cute!" said Namine. She just wanted to hug him all day. But then he showed her what seemed to be a star. 

"Um... I'm sorry, but I have no idea what that is. I've never seen it. It's really cute though." said Namine.

"Hey, why don't you come to my shop with me. Maybe we can figure something out. I'll help you. By the way, I'm Namine."

Corvo looked over to Alvin, hesitating to answer the question. He didn't want to be known as 'soft' in the Mercenary community, but then again why would he care what anyone thinks? Also, he viewed Alvin as an ally so he could trust him with the knowledge of what he's about to do. "I'm looking to adopt a young miss or lad. I'm late for an appointment." Great. He should have just rejected the contract he took earlier. He didnt think an escort job would take him so long.

(Sorry for taking a wile to post this.)

 

"Ah, you are looking to adopt a kid. Well..." Minato trailed off, wondering how to phrase his next statement. He decided to go for the straight approach. "You could always adopt me. My parents are dead, due to an unfortunate accident." He said, mentally adding, "An accident I really don't like thinking about." He paitently awaited Corvo's reply. He wasn't too bothered about what his response would be, but he did feel a bit bad about keeping Corvo from his appoiment.

The guard just sorta stood there. He sucked at fighting, and he heard very dramatic stories about Link's skills. He knew as soon as he raised his sword Link was going to kick his ass. And to be honest the stupid albino Mage wasn't even worth it to him. He could always say that the kid escaped from some stupid voodoo spell. "So." The guard said, slowly looking to the boy. "To be honest, I don't even want to be here, and I'd rather not brutally kill someone with my legendary skill, so I'm just going to go to the nearest pub and drink for a while so. Yeah. See ya." He just put his sword back on his belt and just slowly inched away into the forest. 'Oh. My. God.'

 

Silver sighed. Finally. "Hey, thanks." He called from the ground. He stood up. "My name is Silver." He said, walking over to Link. "Silver Soleana. I would be dead if it wasn't for you."

 

Roxas rolled his eyes and ran up to his brother. He usually took his time, but he actually wanted to check out some swordsman things at the library. Sure, he hated to read, but magic and weapons was the only reason why he would. Unfortunately magic books were banned, however the librarians kept certain books hidden for the children to read. "I'm coming, hold your horses."

 

Convo raised an eyebrow at Minato's bluntness. That was something he really admired in a kid. "Well..." Meh, he would get kicked out of his appointment anyway. "I won't ask. You may tell me whatever you like. My name is Corvo and well... Looks like you got a new father." He smiled and put his hand on Minato's shoulder. Thank god there was no blood on his hands at that moment. "You may call me dad, father, Corvo, whatever you'd like."

Ender and Sandra headed home after they were warned, once the two were home, Ender put the golden necklace around his sister's neck.

"Happy 7th birthday Sandra." Ender said with a smile.

After commotion from a thief, Skeleton bought himself some food and started wondering back home, munching on the bread he got.

Aya and her mother had gotten Aya a beautiful red dress and the two started heading back home.

~Link Baxter~Link put his sword away. He approached Silver with extreme care. Why? Link wondered. Was he afraid of Silver? No... his powers, maybe? Doubtful. Link reached behind Silver, and pulled off the tag that had kept his Magic in restraint. He offered the tag to him. Once again, why? Link probably wasn't thinking straight, maybe he was just excited to meet a mage, maybe learn something."I'm... Link."~Cid Clasko~The sun had set by the time Miles had decided to stop tinkering. Cid wondered why he continued as long as he did, but he didn't want to say anything. His business wasn't Cid's business. Just his safety... but that didn't stop him from asking."Why did you stay here so long, kid?""Links on a job- he doesn't return for days at a time when he is. Saving that kid with the silver hair? Who knows how long that's going to take. And after he saves him, who knows what he plans to do. If I go home, I'll just be alone. I'd rather have some company while I can." Miles had his things packed, and started heading out the door."Wait, Miles..." Cids words made Miles turn around in his spot. Since when did Cid call him Miles?"...Don't sweat yourself. You'll be fine." Miles scoffed at his words."I know, I'm not 8, I can take care of myself." He continued his way home.

"Eh, they don't none magic mercenaries like me anyway. I'll be fine." Alvin said, before Minato walked up. Alvin listened to the proceeding interaction. He had risen an eyebrow at the truth behind Corvo's appointment, but hadn't said anything. When they were done, Alvin smiled broadly. "Well how about that! How grand! You got yourself a kid, and you didn't even have to browse the orphanage!" The mercenary said, his tone agreeable and jovial, as if he were excited for them. "You guys can go play catch in the park, but unfortunately, Uncle Alvin's has to go find some actual work." Alvin walked past Corvo, placing a hand on the fellow mercenaries shoulder, and lowering his voice so only Corvo could hear. "This business isn't for kids Corvo, but I respect that you still had the guts to get one. Just... be careful. Orphans are fragile things, and people like us aren't so delicate." Raising his voice back to normal, Alvin smiled at the duo one last time. "Best of luck to both of you!" He said, before heading away, whistling as he walked.

Silver suddenly felt full of energy. Finally that tag was off. "Perfect... Fire!" The binds on his wrists ignited, and he set himself free by burning the binds off his wrists. "It's nice to meet you Link." Fished around in his pockets, and took out a strange looking crystal. "This is all I have to give to you as thanks, really... It's a tracking crystal. They tried to arrest me because I had this. Or I can just enchant your sword or something..." He rubbed the back of his head.

 

Meanwhile Corvo slowly nodded. He watched Alvin as he walked off, and put his hand on Alvin's shoulder to stop him. "Wait." He said. He knew many people, but he realized Alvin was the closest thing he had for a friend. "Come with us. At least just stay for a celebration... I wanted to take my newly adopted child out to eat, and it'd mean a lot if you came as well." He pondered over Alvin's words for alittle while... He knew very well how dangerous it'd be to have a child, but still there was a fear deep down of his enemies finding out. How could he take care of an orphan when he was a mercenary? What were to happen if Minato's life was in danger because of him? What if he died, and Minato had to be alone once more? "...please."

~Link Baxter~"I... I want to learn... about Magic." Talking was never something Link was good at- it's why he never said anything. But if this was his only chance, he had better take it while he can. If he could learn nothing, he'd gladly had accepted the enchantment... but that's beside the point. Now or never.~Miles Thompson~Throwing his stuff on his chair, Miles went to his room, and laid on his bed. Link had better come back soon, and safe. He thought. The only reason why Miles tried to keep Link at home was to keep him safe. Link was brave, sure, but he was also Naive.I can take care of myself. He thought. It's Link who needs protecting.

Kirby stood there and fluttered his eyes at her.

"N-Na...mi...ne..." He said, finally getting her name. 

He showed off a big and warm smile. He raised up a hand to greet her, clutching the shard in the other. 

 

Suddenly, the shard started flickering intensely. Kirby opened his hand and looked at it in suprise. When he did, it shined a light as bright as the biggest star in the night sky. Kirby covered his eyes to avoid blinding light. It also made a rather loud twinkling noise. 

 

This all happened for a breif moment, Kirby looked at it in shock. However, it caught the attention of almost everyone in his and Namine's proximity. He felt a squeeze of fear in his heart as the spectators stared at him and Namine. He looked around the crowd and his happiness shrunk. 

He stood in front of Namine with a mix of fear and determination. He suddenly didn't feel as safe as before.

Silver rubbed the back of his head. He didn't expect an answer such as that. "Well I can teach you, but I'm only a student and Iive in Chivia where magic is legal. I mean, if you don't mind the fact that you could get arrested, I could teach you some. Actually, I'm not supposed to be here right now. I was on break so I decided to come here where I heard there was some relics around. Still, if you're willing to take the risk I can teach you some spells. It's the least in can do for saving my life."
