~The Role-playing Game~ (RP)

Recommended Posts

~Tails Baxter Needleson~ At first, Tails was shocked. He hadn't heard Kirby speak so openly before. He wasn't even sure if it was possible. After awhile, though, he had adjusted. He listened to the two's conversation for awhile, before turning his head to Del. "You know, Del... It's kind of strange. I mean... we're all getting along perfectly fine, and we hadn't even known each other for more than a day or so."  Miles heard Roxas abruptly yell out, seemingly out of nowhere. It shocked him a bit, causing him to forget where he was going with his sentence. Meanwhile, Link nods to Silver in agreement. The Library would be a good source to start with. Link started back towards where he had discovered Miles to be hiding before. That is, until he was knocked off his feet by a fast, blue wind. Link rubbed the back of his head as he lifted his upper torso up from the ground. He felt the wind once more, and was greeted face to face with a boy in blue. He simple smiled and offered his hand. Link gratefully took it, and stood up to his feet. The boy turned his back again. "Where are you off to in such a rush?" Link asked the boy. The boy laughed and threw his head back towards Links direction. "Not too many places, probably nowhere. But maybe somewhere, too! Who knows?" Link was awestruck at the boys incredible speed! He didn't even notice him until he had ran him over. "Oh, I'm Sonic, by the way. Sonic Nose Needleson." "If I were you, I'd stick to just "Sonic." Link responded. Sonic wondered to himself why he even states his full name every time he meets someone new. "Ha, maybe. But you know what? This place seems pretty quiet; Maybe I should just head somewhere else! I hear Chiva is nice this time of year."~Dawn Estheim~   "I see." Dawn didn't have too many words anymore. For the most part, she was just glad she had gotten out of that dull situation of teaching and cleaning.

Kirby listened to Ventus as he shared his tale. He nodded as he did so.

"Uh huh...Well, everyone has their flaws and strengths, you know?", Kirby chuckled.

Then, Roxas spoke and Kirby chuckled again at his playfulness. He then looked back at Ventus again.

"Well, that's good to hear. A-also, it's good to hear your mother is okay...and...I'm sorry...about your father...", he said, rubbing the back of his head.

"But, I know you will find him and bring him back home, safe and sound! I just know you will! You want to know why? Because...um...just like your name, you've got to let the wind steer your heart in the right direction. Heck, whenever you feel it's right, let the water and earth help you on that path too!", Kirby smiled, gently tapping on Ven's chest, roughly around where his heart should be.

Kirby looked over to Roxas again.

"The same goes for you, Roxas!", he quietly shouted.

"Also...we'll find that dark mage and give it what it deserves! Right?", he stated.

Silver was rather confused at the arrival of this new blue newcomer. He crossed his arms, feeling a tiny pang of rivalry and a pinch of jealousy. What a fast show off! Silver would never be that fast in his entire life without magic. "Sonic is it?" Silver asked, putting his hand of Link's shoulder to make sure he was okay. "I'm Silver. Silver Soleanna..." The boy running around like that made him the slightest bit dizzy. "Oh, and Chivia is wonderful this year. Just in time for the afterlife festival. I heard its better here in Asnia though." He almost chuckled at Sonic's last name.

Vanitas closed his eyes. He was getting pretty tired. A catnap in the tree didn't sound so bad. "It's good you chose power. Those who deny it are those who fall." Wither he was telling the truth or not about his first meeting with Dawn was unknown.

Roxas gave a quick nod. "Thanks. And you're right! That dark mage will get what's coming to him." He felt almost better already. He felt as if he can do anything now. All because of his friends. He coughed ink into his arm once more. He felt even better now. "I think there's only a little bit of ink left."

Delsin took in what tails said. "Yeah, your right. It is kind of weird. But weve been through alot in that time. I mean, we broke into a jail for christs sake. Im not surprised our team has formed such a strong bond." He chuckled a bit, then said with a smile, "and frankly, im glad we did. I forgot what it felt like to have family." He took a sip of water and let that sink in. He really like using that word. Family. It had been awhile since he could. Then he heard the yonger ones talking. "Your da-..." he forgot kirbys age for a second. " ahem. You better belive were gonna get him back, and teach that mage a lesson while were at it!" He beamed at kirby while he said it. "Nobody messes with this town while team rebels around!" He looked around the room at everybody with a huge smile on his face. He hooed this would lift the spirits. Not that they were sad, everyone was incredibly happy to see roxas safe, but they had been through alot, and still had alot ahead of them. He hoped this gave everybody a bit more confidence.

~Miles "Tails" Thompson~ "Guys, look." Miles pointed out the window. The stars had already appeared, and the sun was nowhere to be seen. "I don't think we can get him back today. Maybe we should wait until morning, when the Guards do their run." Tails yawned loudly, stretching his arms, nearly hitting Del.~Link Baxter/Sonic Needleson~

"The Afterlife Festival?" Sonic questioned. He had always spent his life traveling; him and his parents. He didn't even know where they were. He had never stayed in one place long enough to witness a festival. "Silver, I think we should hurry back... it's getting late." Link didn't really like Sonic so far. He was just getting in their way, and they needed to get back to the others quickly.

"Oh, don't be like that!" Sonic said, throwing his arm around Link, "Besides, Link, I've got something you're missing." Sonic pulled out his cap, nearly out of nowhere. Link was both surprised and curious at this. "How did you get that, and how did you know my name?" Sonic laughed again, and shoved the cap into his hands. "Please, the name is Stitched along on the inside, and I don't know anyone else around here who would wear something as stupid as that!" Sonic commented. Link was enraged again, ready to leave. "Don't you DARE call my cap stupid! I will NOT stand here and let her memory be insulted like this! Silver, we should go. Now."~Dawn Estheim~ "Vanitas, I haven't slept in days, and I'm still not tired. Is that because of you, too?" Dawn noticed his dreariness. She was willing to let him sleep, she just wanted some Answers.

Roxas shot his fist in the year. "Yeah! They'll regret messing with us!" He quieted down once Tails spoke... The engineer did have a point. "...after we get some sleep. I know all about the guards. A lot of them patrol the area at night, especially lately. Some of them are either asleep or drunk." He snickered, recalling a time when a guard was stumbling in the street. The guard was smashed. The same guard was later being hounded by his captain for being drunk on the job. "Thanks for the food, Delsin." Roxas began to munch on his meat/soup. Roxas had a stomach big enough to eat a horse. He looked over to Ventus and the others, and offered some of his soup. "You guys can share with me if ya want. Don't worry, I don't got the 'cooties' or anything."

Silver snickered. He had to admit this was pretty entertaining, especially with how threatening Link looked normally. He decided to indulge Sonic, at least a little bit. "Oh, come on Link! You can tell he's always running around so let him have some fun." Normally he'd tell Sonic, of any person like Sonic to get lost and get out of his way, but the mission he was tasked to wasn't urgent enough to not talk to a blue boy for a few minutes. He crossed his arms. "The Afterlife Festival is where basically people wear scary looking masks to scare off dark souls and demons wanting to posses their bodies. It's practiced differently in Chivia since it involves magic."

Vanitas grinned, and pulled his hood over his eyes. "Maybe it is. Maybe it isn't. You're smart enough to figure that out." he used up so much magic today, and that hex really took a toll on his energy. He needed to becareful, lest he faint from fatigue.

~Miles Thompson~ "Uh... no thanks." Miles had this thing about eating after other people. Especially ones who just got finished with coughing up blood. "I'm going to go ahead and hit the hay. You guys have fun!" Tails went downstairs, and laid upon the straw couch. It didn't really take him too long to drift away.~Link Needleson~ "Looks like I'll be staying here for awhile!" Link growled. Sonic had insulted his Cap. His favorite cap.

"Relax, Link... relax... Alright, Sonic. Enjoy the festival and whatnot. Silver, lets go! We've entertained him long enough." Link once again, said this with an animalistic tone. Sonic looked to Link again and dropped his head. "Look, if it's that big of a deal, I'm sorry about saying what I did about your cap. Can we just shake hands and be friends?" Sonic wasn't really good at being subtle, Link noticed. Link put aside his feelings and did exactly that. Link smiled and thought about how Miles would handle the situation. "So, Sonic. You got a place to stay? If not, you could follow us." Link still didn't trust this blue boy, but he thought of Miles' sense of hospitality.

"Hah, sounds good to me! Lead the way."~Dawn Estheim~ Dawn looked at Vanitas again. He was so cute when he was tired. Dawn smirked. "I'm gonna go out to town for a little bit. You enjoy your rest."

As everyone's confidence steamed up, Kirby nodded at everyone with his traditional smile. Then, Roxas offered everyone some of his soup.

"Uh, no thank you. I already ate, thanks to the kindness of Namine. You all met her, right? But, thank you for the offer, Roxas.", Kirby kindly declined.

Speaking of Namine, he wanted to ask her about her parents as well. He'll do so when they go home for the night. Just as he thought that, Tails announced that it was now dark outside, and that he would go off to sleep. When he trotted downstairs, Kirby waved 'goodnight' to him. He stood up from the floor, and let out a big yawn. He was kind of tired.

"Yeah...I think it's time for us to go too.", Kirby said, rubbing his eye.

He looked over at Namine with a warm smile, walked over to her, and held her hand, signifying that he was ready to go.

"It was nice to see you all, and it was nice of you to meet Namine too!", Kirby said with his innocent smile.

Roxas nodded with a smile. "Alright. I hope to see you later Kirby." He gave Tails a nod too. "See you in the morning!" He looked to Del, not wanting him to leave. "You're going to stay here with me, Ven and Tails, right?" He felt rather attached to Delsin, and viewed him as a sort of mentor, or older brother even. Now that his dad was temporarily gone, he needed an elder male figure.

Silver grinned. A part of him didn't want to let Link love this down. "Awww... How sweet of you, Link Baxter." He looked to Sonic, sorta feeling a bit of déjà vu. "I could get us all masks. I always wanted to see what the festivals here were like anyway. But right now... Yeah, you can come with us if you'd like."

Vanitas waved her off, and snuggled into his little book in the tree. "Go ahead. Watch yourself. If a man bothers you I'll be rather displeased having to /kill/ again today. I trust you can take good care of yourself out of my watch." He crossed one leg over the other. Vanitas was actually rather fond of sleeping in trees. "If you find any of those 'ants,' don't atagonize them for now."

~Sonic/Link Baxter~
"Sweet?" Link could tell that Silver was getting some kind of sick enjoyment out of this. He once again tried to settle himself and proceeded with the conversation.
"Masks, eh? Well,  it would be safe enough. I mean, no one would recognize us anyways, right?" Link quickly realized he had already said too much in front of this stranger.
"Recognize you? What did you do to get yourself attention?" Link managed to get Sonic's attention, which wasn't easy for someone as fast pace as him. Were these people dangerous? Should Sonic report them?
"I uh... well, you see- I mean it's just..." Link stammered.

~Dawn Estheim~
Maybe I should shop for some masks, Dawn thought. I've always enjoyed the festival over in Chivia, I bet it's even better over here! Dawn looked around at the shops in town- most of them were closed, due to the hour of the day, but some of them remained as bright as ever. A dim light glowed over a nearby sign, reading "Rosies Reds." Dawn lightly stepped her way over to the window, and looked inside. Ah ha! Masks! But that wasn't all. There were brightly colored clothes, some tools in the corner, and a single Diadem on the counter. A few kids rushed into the shop beside her, one of them bumping into her.
"Sorry, miss!" the boy chirped before he rushed away to join his friends. Something about that boy... Dawn thought. Maybe she had just seen him across the street a few times. No, this was something else. It reminded her of Home.
Everyday, when the sun stood still at the highest point, Dawn Estheim would greet her lone Student as she would every time.
"Good morning, class!" This always made her chuckle in her head. The boy, however, wouldn't find it too entertaining. He would always correct her, each time.
"A class would require multiple persons, Mrs. Estheim. As you can well tell, it is just You and I. Can we please move on to Science already?" The kid seemed to love Science. He wouldn't allow a day to pass without a proper test or two. Truly admirable. Dawn would proceed with the lesson as usual, and each day would go on perfectly.
Dawn snapped out of her Nostalgia, and continued into the shop. She was greeted by the owner, Rosie, who worked the shop by her lonesome, before proceeding into the Mask section. Two in particular stood out above the rest; The two she knew she had to get for her and Vanitas. She purchased the masks honorably, which she knew Vanitas would get on to her about. Why buy it when you could steal it for free? And then, punish them for trying to take money off of you! She could hear Vanitas in her head, even now. She walked out of the store, the two masks in hand. The mask she had purchased for herself was a light blue creature, cheerful and bright. On the back, the label "Piplup" stood out bright and clear. The one she had purchased for Vanitas remained unlabeled or Tampered, but it sure looked menacing. Perfect for one such as he. She put the mask into her back, and carried on her merry way.
Still... that mask sure is scary. Even whilst the mask is away, the Image still burned in her head, bright and clear.

Roxas smiled. He felt very happy to have his brother Ven, and his two new brothers with him. He felt very safe. Safe and confident- confident that he was going to get the father back. "Okay. There's some blankets in the closet across the hall if you want to make a bed with those." He leaned back in bed and couldn't help but make a hiss; his chest ached a little bit from the hex earlier. He just needed a good night's rest. "Good night Ven, Del."

Silver slapped his hand to his face. Nice going. "Agh, you really did it now, Link." Silver muttered. He was somewhat unsure of where he was going with this. "Well, Link is kinda well known around here. He is the 'Mighty Link Baxter' after all. People keep bugging him, and he's helping me out with some research things so we'd appreciate it if you didn't well, tell everyone who we were. Just pretend that we're ghosts." He half-lied. He sounded like he was loaded with a bunch of bullshit bullets, but that was the best he could come up with. He sucked at lying and felt guilty whenever he did lie or hide anything. At least her what he said was the truth- or the half truth, at least.

Vanitas leaned back in his tree, chilling as if he was a bird. (Birditas should be a thing.) He slipped into a light sleep, dreaming for the first time in a while.

It was dark- the rain was pouring down the desolate streets from his town in Chivia. There he was, his father dead fading away on the floor, with his own soul in the son's hand. He remembered his younger brother by a year, screaming at him. Asking him why he had done this. He felt no remorse; he wanted the power.

"There is no good or evil! There is only power and those too weak to seek it. Everyone around you is weak. You must carry out this deed. If you hesitate, you will be a disgrace to the Faction!"

"Yes, Master Ganondorf."

He remembered the feeling of taking his father's life. He felt nothing. All that anxiety, that quick guilt, that quick pain, it morphed into darkness. It morphed into insanity.

Delsin stood. "Night, guys. see everyone in the morning." he used to say that to his parents when they tucked him in. it was a promise that his loved ones would be there when he woke up. it comforted him. he walked out of the room and down the hall to get the blankets. he slept on the floor of the living room with his makeshift bed. it didnt take long for him to fall asleep. hed had an eventful day. He fell asleep happy. All in all, it had been a good day. The twins mother was safe, roxas was saved from the hex, and delsin finally had some family.

~Link Baxter/Sonic Needleson~
"Legendary, eh? The Legend of Link... has a nice ring to it! Although, I think "Zelda" would be a much better title." Sonic sarcastically remarked. Link grimaced.
"Zelda is a girls name..." Sonic wasn't the first person to say something like that. Link once knew a Zelda, a long time ago, back when he still lived on the Ranch with his Wife. The memory still scratched at his brain. My wife...
"Alright, well, you two lead the way!" Sonic stated, noticing the fading away Link was doing. Link looked to Silver, and nodded.
"You first."

~Dawn Estheim~
Not quite ready to return to Vanitas, Dawn decided to explore a little more. Another shop across from Rosie's Reds, called The Gallery of Toadstool, glowed brightly still. Dawn didn't care what kind of store it was, she immediately dashed inside.Shopping is fun! Upon walking in, the shop revealed to be a clothing market. There weren't nearly as many clothes here as there were back in Chivia, but they were still quite extravagant. She picked out an outfit, and decided to try it on.

It fit rather nicely, and with the colder weather coming in, she felt it perfect to purchase again. The same boy that had bumped into her from before ran into her once more, figuratively. He had entered the shop, looking for his mother. It didn't take long for him to find her, as she was the owner. He gripped her arm tightly and laughed, pulling on her until she picked him up and toss him in the air. Dawn smiled.
"Can we please move on to Science already?" He had always chirped. Sometimes, Dawn would do just that; Science was his favorite subject. Other times, she would show him her Ice magic. The boy would always aspire to join her in her magic practice, trying to mimic her every move. The first time he had finally achieved to create a Snow Ball, he rejoiced. "I hope that someday, I can be as good as you, Mrs. Estheim!" Dawn would laugh, and rub his head.
"You know what, Vexen? I think that one day, you'll be even greater than me!" She would pick him up, and toss him around as she always did after a lesson. Together, the two would practice and laugh, learn and play, teach and remember. Those were days that Dawn longed to return. It was funny, really. The longer she was away from Vanitas, the more of her old life she started remembering, the more she began to feel like her old self again.

She tried to shake off the feeling, and continued to the counter, where she purchased the outfit. Two masks, and an outfit. Perhaps it was about time to return to Vanitas. She walked back to the old tree where Vanitas had slept, and laid against the trunk, between two overgrown roots. It didn't take her too long to fall asleep after that.

Silver gave a small nod, noticing Link's reaction to the name Zelda. "Uh, sure... Wait, are we going to the Twins' place? Or are we just going to your house or the library..." Silver scratched his head. He could tell he was tired; he was starting to act silly. "Wait, Sonic, where's your parents? Shouldn't you be with them?"

Vanitas opened one eye from underneath his hood once Dawn had returned. He couldn't help but watch her sleep for a while before he tried to fall asleep himself. He couldn't. He could tell what she had experienced while on her 'shopping spree.' "Dammit... She's looking back..." He muttered to himself, inaudible. He could've swore he felt his heart flutter for a second. He cursed himself. "No. I'm not weak."He opened his eyes once more, watching her sleeping for a while before he finally fell asleep himself.

~Link Baxter/Sonic Needleson~ Link nodded. "Back to the Twins. I figured my house wouldn't be the safest one right now anyways, with the Guards mad at me and that Dark Mage getting to be too much." Link grimaced AGAIN. He said too much... AGAIN. Sonic laughed. "I knew there was more to this than what you guys were saying! And hey, I get it. You want me to be safe, so you're keeping me out of your troubles. That's fine with me." Silver had mentioned Sonics parents. "Oh, they're travelers, like me. Well, to be honest, they're kind of on the run too. The people around here don't seem too friendly towards magic, and they seem to think that Magic is what gave me my speed... so, we're all running, not knowing where we're going."

(And again, I'm sorry if I missed anything.)

Ventus smiled at Kirby's kind words. "Thanks"

    ......

"No thank you." said Ventus, after his brother offered him some of his food.  Kirby and his friend, Namine left. Ventus waved good-bye to them.

Tails was already downstairs sleeping. Well, it looks like everyone decided to go to sleep. Ventus went over to his bed, close to Roxas' bed. He

laid down, facing his brother. He yawned. "Good night, Roxas. Good night, Delsin."

Namine held Kirby's hand. "See you all later." They both walked out and headed straight for her house. She was kinda fast-walking. It was already dark outside and she didn't want anything dangerous happen to Kirby. She then glanced at him. "So, Kirby. Guess you'll have to give Yu the basket some other day." she said.

Roxas turned around to view his brother. He gave Ventus a small smile. "Goodnight, Ventus." No matter how much they argued and atagonized each other, Roxas still loved his brother with all his heart.

Silver would face desk if he was sitting at a desk. Instead, he just slammed his palm to his face once more. However, what Sonic said next surprised him. He looked to Sonic in delight. He had an idea.

"Wait, you're so fast that the guards think you're using magic? That's amazing!" He said. "Look, if you help us with your speed, we might be able to hide your parents somewhere safe."

As Kirby and Namine headed outside, he quickly picked up his little basket and they headed straight to her home, but at a quicker pace.

"Yeah, I guess so.", Kirby responded to Namine.

Because of the darkness, Kirby couldn't help but look up at the stars. He always loved the stars. After a bit of stargazing, he looked over at Namine.

"They sure were nice. Say, Namine. Where exactly are your parents? I'd really like to meet them!", He said with a tired little smile.

Namine looked up to the stars. "Well, you see.... a few weeks ago, my parents died in a horrible accident. But I wasn't with them. That's why I own the flower

shop and live alone..." To Namine, it felt kinda weird telling someone about it.

"Y'know... if you met them, they would really like you." she said, giving Kirby a small smile.

~Link/Sonic~ "Hey, yeah! I mean, of course, if you don't mind helping out." Link added. Silver was brilliant! "I'm not so sure." Sonic crossed his arms and put his head down a little. "I mean, how do I know you aren't a bad guy?" Link sighed. Great, he was going to have to take an hour of his time to explain everything that went on. And... so he did. "Oh, I see. And now, those guys need help saving the father, and you guys need help taking down a dark mage? And as an added bonus, I get two safe parents and a free ride to the Festival!" Sonic shouted with excitement. "Alright, I'm in!" He stook out both hands, One to shake Silvers, and one to shake Links. Link gracefully took it, and shook once. "Welcome to Farron, Mr. Needleson." The trio began walking back to the house where they had left Miles and the others.

Silver was so bored he almost began to fall asleep from Link's very long explanation. Finally they started to walk, but back to where the twins live. "Wait guys." He stopped. "Let's just go get some sleep first. You both an stay at the inn with me," 'I don't wanna sleep by myself anyway...' He thought. "And then we can just meet up with the rest of the gang. They're probably sleeping right now anyway. I don't want to uh, bother them after that boy almost died."

(Any of you guys can skip to when ya wake up in the morning. Btw, when is the Afterlife Festival? I was thinking in a few days in Farron but what do you guys think? xD)

Kirby's smile turned into a frown.

"W-What?..." , he said.

"That's awful...I'm so sorry about that, Namine...And your all alone too..."

He held her hand tighter.

"Well, whatever the past was with them, I'm sure they were very good to you."

Then Namine mention how they would have liked him.

"Hm. Well, I don't want you to be lonely. I-if you want to, one of these days, maybe you can come with me to Chivia and visit my family, and...maybe be a part of it too. It's just me and my big brother though. Anyway, what were your parents like, if you don't mind me asking.", he said as they got closer to Namine's home.

~Link/Sonic~ Link slapped himself in the face, and agreed to follow Silver back to the Inn, where the Trio quickly fell into a sleep. And as usual, Link had his dream once again. Being chased, falling, a voice... But there was something different this time. There was someone on the horse with him. And the voice... matched up with her. After they had fallen, She stood up. She stretched out her arms in front of Link, as if defending him. She looked back and said something, something that the dream had muffled... and then, another Flash.   Sonic didn't do much else after he joined the two travelers. He simply followed, and slept. Empty dreams for an empty mind, or so they say.
