~The Role-playing Game~ (RP)

Recommended Posts

~Hope Estheim~ Dawn laughed. She was actually enjoying this! How clever of dear old Vanitas."Now, where do we start?"~Miles "Tails" Thompson~ "I'm not exactly sure where to go... but I know where your mother can hide for awhile. There's a shop in town- it's closed today, but I know the owner. I could talk to him about it."~Link Baxter~ "So, all we have to do, is get close enough to put the tag on both of them." Easier said than done. This is going to be ANYTHING but Easy. Maybe my most difficult I've had since I've been here. Wait, been here? I've always been here. Link shook the thought off and continued to watch Silver.

Vanitas grinned. "It's simple." He clutched the bone charm in his hand and read the scripture written in the book. "Hexicus ancestrine." In the back of his mind he half wondered why the hell the ancient language was so strange, but that didn't matter. The charm in his hand emitted a black smoky aura, indicating it was now hexed. After a few seconds the aura went away. "Perfect." Vanitas said in delight. "All we have to do now is just place the charm with something that belongs to the target- in this case, Roxas." He gestured Dawn to follow him over to the tree they used to spy on the twins before. Luckily they were out of sight so no one would spot them. He scaled the tree, and pointed towards the window of the twins' room upstairs. "Wait here while I plant this inside their room. Make sure /no one/ sees us." He didn't want to make any noise, so he decided to use some magic to remain hidden. He suddenly dissapeared from the tree and reappear inside the room upstairs belonging to the twins. He looked under Roxas' bed, noticing a pile of clothes shoved underneath. He placed the charm under the clothes and left the room all while making no noise whatsoever. He went back to the tree and sat next to Dawn. "All we have to do now is activate the spell."

Roxas nodded at Ventus. "Yeah... I really don't care where she stays as long as it's safe and she'll be cared for. I just want mom to be okay..." He considered Tails' suggestion too. "The shop sounds good too. With the inn though, how are we gonna pay for it? We barely got money as it is." Everything was money. There was no such thing in the world of someone helping another without some sort of benefit for themselves. That's how the world ran. "I just don't want them to take mom away again... I don't want to be alone." Roxas couldn't imagine a world without his parents. He looked up to Delsin with a frown upon his face. "How tough was it? To be alone and not have a mom or dad."

Silver shook his head. He wished it was that simple. "Yeah, no. If we just tag them they'll rip it off easily even if we did place it on their backs. We'll have to tag them then tie their hands immediately so they can't reach the spell tag on their backs. Remember when you found me?" he looked through some more pages and remembered a spell that might work too. "There's also this one spell, called mute which prevents the target from talking for a while. So a mage won't be able to cast any spells that requires them to speak. Thing is many mages like myself just use sign Magic- magic using hand signs anyway. So if the dark mage uses sign magic then the spell is useless."

Delsin crossed his arms. "it was rough. i remember the first few weeks, i was a sniveling mess. i cried myself to sleep each night, and only ate what people gave me out of pity. that was a scary time. my parents were killed in front of me for the practice of magic, and that image haunts me to this day. but at the time, is was more scared than i have ever been. i didnt know what to do without my parents. after a few weeks, a man came up to me. he asked why i was crying, and i told him my parents were killed. he said something that has stayed with me since. 'look kid. i know this is rough. but you need to chin up. its obvious you loved them, and they loved you, but what would your parents say if they knew you were just sitting here, wasting away? pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and keep moving. do it for them.' then he walked away. i havnt seen him since. after that, i learned how to hunt. ive been moving forward ever since," delsin paused for a moment to collect himself. this was alot. "it still hurts. i miss them every day, and until now, i have been incredibly lonley. a life alone like that is incredibly difficult. thats why im going to do every thing i can to get you two your parents back. you three are the first people that have treated me like family since my parents died. i cant thank you all enough for that. and i refuse to let you two grow up like i did." delsin was almost tearing up. "sorry, i tend to ramble. point is, it sucked. i refuse to let you two go through it like i did. Tails, how soon can you get to this place to see if we can leave their mom there?" he wanted to change the subject before he started to cry.

(Holy donkey butt, I meant to continue my post, but I had so much stuff to do this week and didn't finish it. OURGH! Okay, I'll continue now. (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ )

Kirby put a finger to his chin and kept thinking as he looked around. He then looked at Namine and shrugged. He tried his hardest to remember where he saw Yu and Naomi run off to when they had left the market. Was it this way, or was it that way?...

"Poyo?", he asked Namine, hoping she would know where to go next.

However, during all of the searching and wondering, nobody noticed his star shard slowly flashed a very faint shade of dark red.

Roxas frowned and immediately felt a pang of guilt inside his chest from bringing up such a touchy subject. He wouldn't know what would be do if his parents were gone. If Ventus was gone... Roxas wouldn't be able to live anymore if that happened. He looked upon his friend with utter sadness and understanding. "I'm sorry for bringing it up... But don't worry! You're right; we're your family now. And after we get my dad back, I'm sure he and mom will treat you just like you're their son. I know it." He looked over to Tails after Delsin changed the subject. He began to notice something: many children in Asnia are orphans. That's when Roxas began to put two and two together in his mind. He thought Asnia was a mostly free and peaceful district... But in reality, many were suffering because of the corruption. He just didn't realize it because Farron was such a quiet town and he never ventured off into the world. 'Is this place really that bad...?' He glanced over to Ventus before paying his attention back to Tails. 'Ventus, I'm so sorry...' (Sorry if my last few posts have been tl;dr.)

Ventus couldn't help but to feel bad for Delsin. A world without your parents....Ventus imagined it. He then shook his head.

After the subject was changed, he walked over to Tails. "So, where is this shop owner you were talking about?"

Namine sighted. "I don't know where they have went. I mean, I know they went straight from here. Maybe they turned left? Turned right? I don't know..."

She looked around. "Hmm... maybe .. left?" Without them knowing, the twins' house was near.

"Maybe we can ask if someone knows."

Kirby looked up at Namine as she spoke. She spoke about going the left way. He nodded his head. Yeah. Maybe it is over there. She knows this place better than him, so he took her word yet again. He looked at both sides of the road, making sure they weren't getting in anybody's way if they came by. Afterwards, he grabbed Namine's hand and walked with her to the left. He was starting to get nervous about showing himself now. However, he had to stay calm, or else he might make a fool of himself again.

~Miles Thompson~ Miles didn't say anything after Del told his story. He was saddened. Dels story reminded him of his own missing parents. When one of the Twins walked up to him, that's when Tails snapped back into reality. "Its uh... It's near my house, I'll show you guys today. I don't think she can go there yet, though. I have her paid for a few days at the Inn, so until we can get Cid's OK, we're gonna have to stay here." Miles looked back at Del again, feeling sorry for the old chap. "Del, he's right you know. We may have only just met, but I feel a strong bond already. We're family. Hell, I feel closer to you than I do to the person I live with."~Link Baxter~ "Well, how are we going to do that without him- or his assistant- knowing? They'll probably see us coming from Miles away!" Link saying that outloud reminded him of his friend. "Wait, Miles! I need to find him. He could be in danger!" Link thought for a second. Maybe he was overreacting, maybe he wasn't. All he knew was that Miles needed protection of some sort.~Dawn Estheim~ "How long after the activation will it take the spell to start taking it's toll?" Dawn was learning so much more from Vanitas than she ever did from her days of reading at her old workplace. Well, it was more like a home, really. After all, she DID live there, and everyone else who did felt like family to her anyways. Or at least, they used to. Dawn doesn't think about her family anymore. It's like she doesn't care. Or maybe, she forgot.

Vanitas grinned. He hasn't even activated the hex yet. "Oh... Why don't we try it out and see?" His grin morphed into a twisted insane smirk as he snapped his figers, his golden eyes glowing slightly to indicate the activation of the spell. He couldn't wait to see how this unfolds. To see the ants scatter about pitifully.

Roxas smiled. He was happy to have this newfound family. He was even more greatful at Tails' offer. "Alright, sounds good! I bet it's pretty cool-" his skin suddenly grew pale, and his eyes widened. He put his hand to his chest feeling as though he was drowning. Then it came. He fell to his knees and began to vomit thick red blood. He gasped for air that never came as he sputtered and choked on the blood that made its way up his throat. Small tears pricked his eyes. "A-ag-"

Silver shrugged. "How am I supposed to know?" He looked down at his book, it shaking slightly in his hands. Silver sniffed the air... He smelt something bad. Mages after a while usually learn to smell darkness. Silver almost forgot about Miles. He was happy Link remembered. "Let's go look for him. When we find him, apologize." He said crossing his arms. He disliked when people argued. "The both of you should make up. I know it's none of my buisness, but still."

Roxas fell to the ground, spewing blood. What was this? Was this an after effect of his injury? He could have a ruptured organ. Delsin couldnt be sure. Human anatomy was much more sophisticated than that of the animals he hunted. "Roxas!" He shouted. He took a knee next to the kid and just watched in horror. He had no idea what to do. "Is there a doctor in town? Someplace we could take him? Ventus, has he ever done this before?" He didnt dare touch roxas. He didnt want to make it worse. Del was scared.

Ventus immediately fell on his knees, next to Roxas. "R-Roxas!" he cried. What is wrong with him? His injury wasn't too bad for this to happen. He feared for

his brother. "N-no... this has never happened before.." he said. "There is a doctor in town. It's near." He began to panic. "Someone go get the doctor! Bring him here! He's

vomiting too much blood!"

Namine, who was now holding Kirby's hand, walked to the first house she saw. She walked to the door, and knocked. She then heard commotion coming from the inside.

'What is going on?" she said. Normally, she would've moved on to the next house. But instead, she peeked through the closest window. She wasn't meaning to be nosy or anything. She gasped. There was boy, and he was vomiting...blood. Those around him panicked. "Kirby...look!" she said

Shit. Clearly this was a new problem. "Ill go find someone! you guys keep an eye on him!" With that, he dashed off. he ran faster than he ever had before. the world felt like a blur. He dashed through the streets asking where the doctor could be. he got directions like "just over there", "just down the road and to the left." he did as he heard, but he wasnt finding anything. "come on, im wasting too much time!" he yelled, as he turned a corner. he eventually found a building with a sign bearing a cross. "this must be it!" he burst in the doors and shouted at the first person he saw. "somebody, get a doctor! my friend is vomiting large amounts of blood, and we dont know why! Please someone help!" then an man in a long coat grabbed a briefcase and yelled "ill come!" Delsin didnt hesitate. he spun around and said "follow me!" with that he took off.

Kirby followed Namine to a door and she knocked on it. Kirby, still nervous, looked down at the ground in shyness. That is until he heard panicked voices from beyond the door. He let go of Namine's hand and raised an eyebrow. He tried to make out what was going on. He then saw Namine walk to a window and peek through it. What is she doing?? She can't just invade on other people's privacy like that! Then, she called him over to see the ruckus.

Hesitant at first, Kirby put the basket on the ground and ran over to the window. He peeked through it himself and was shocked at who he recognized. It was Roxas, vomiting blood. His eyes widened in fear and disbelief. What is happening?!

Kirby pointed at Roxas through the window.

"Poyo! Poyo!", he shouted, looking at Namine in worry.

As Kirby yelled, his star shard flashed a red color again, but this time it was more noticeable, but he didn't care. He just wanted to dash in there to help Roxas somehow. Then, he heard something frantically dash down the street. He tried to see who or what it was, but he couldn't get a good glimpse of it. Kirby then took a deep breath and looked at Namine again.

Suddenly, his worrying got the better of him, and he took Namine's hand again and dashed to the front door. He frantically burst into the house with the most petrified look in his eyes.

"R-Roxas!", Kirby shouted, his star shard still flashing.

He didn't hesitate to run up to him.

"Poyo?!", he asked Ventus.

~Link Baxter~ The ruckus that the stranger had brought outside with him caught Links attention. Someone needed a Doctor, and it looks like they found one. It couldn't be anything normal, not with that kind of reaction. The fact that it had happened almost right after the Dark Mage left caused even more suspicion. "Silver, lets check this out!"~Miles Thompson~ Miles was too panicked to say anything. He hadn't dealt with anything like this before. When Del ran out to fetch a Doctor, Miles kind of rushed to Roxas' side. "Alright, while he's out, we need to do what we can to prevent anything else from happening. Right now he seems fine, he won't choke on his blood the way he is now." Miles felt useless, what exactly could they do? A pink boy and a blonde woman walked into the room.

As Delsin approached the house with the doctor, he saw new people inside. some blond haired woman, and a small pink haired child. he had no time to worry about that, as roxas was in trouble. he wasnt going to let him go on like this. he had no idea what would happen if this continued, or even if roxas would survive. He finally found people that felt like family, that truly cared for him like no one else had since his parents were killed. after so many years of loneliness, he wasnt going to lose one of the first people he could call a friend, let alone a brother like felt for the other members of team rebel. he burst in the door shouting "hes right here!" the doctor knelt down near roxas. Delsin found a chair and plopped down in it. his energy was spent. he had been running on adrenaline since he left the house. now that was subsiding, and he was tired as all hell. all he could do was wait for the doctor to do his job. "You better make it roxas." he said, under his breath.

Corvo crossed his arms and looked not amused at all. He wasn't fond of being teased, especially in the times long ago when he was a merchant in his twenties. He then remembered the bread he needed to pick up. "Ahh... I ordered some fresh bread to be baked in the best bakery in the area. It's in Asnia, but that's just over the border nearby so it won't be too long." In speaking of travel, he looked to Minato with a smile. "I take much pleasure in travel. Would you like to learn how to ride a horse?"

(Sorry, for such a late post.)

"Learning to ride a horse? I like the idea. Yes, I would like to learn how," replied Minato, interested in the concept. He had always been interested in horses, and learning to ride one seemed like a good idea at the time. "So, will the lesson be part of your travels?" he asked, thinking that was probably the right answer, but wanting to be sure.

Someone burst into the house. "Kirby?!" said Ventus. There was a blonde haired woman with him. But he would ask who she is later. Right now, his only concern was Roxas. After a minute or so, Delsin came back with the doctor. Ventus sighted in relief. "Doctor, what's wrong with my brother?"

"You know him, Kirby?" After Kirby burst in, she walked in as well. Then, someone came with a doctor. She wanted to help in some way, but all she could do was to watch as the doctor tried his best. She silently leaned against the wall. She didn't know any of them. But it seems Kirby does.

Delsin was tired of waiting. He walked up to the doctor. "what can you tell us doc?" the doctor simply stood. "i dont know." he looked grim. Del gritted his teeth. He looked over to roxas. he was no longer vomiting up blood, but he was still sputtering and hacking, blood flying from his mouth. Delsin was infuriated. He slammed his fist on the wall next to him. "What do you mean you dont know?! your a doctor, you must know!" The doctor stared at the floor. "its unlike anything ive ever seen. it seems his lungs are filled with blood, but he shows no signs of an internal rupture. i cant find a cause of this flowing of blood. its just happening, and it shows no sign of stopping. on the bright side, he dosent seem to be losing blood from his veins or any major organ. now that the serious vomiting has stopped, he can breath agian. there is still the danger of the lungs bursting from all the blood rushing into them, and his hacking could cause a tear in his esophagus, leading to his lungs completely flooding. No matter what however, there is nothing i can do. ive never seen this before." Delsin was dumbstruck. "Thank you for your help sir. here." he took a small sum of money from his pocket. "Please leave now." "okay. goodbye all." with that the doctor left. Delsin knelt down next to roxas and lifted him up. he took him to his bed and laid him down. he sat on the edge next to roxas. a tear rolled down his cheek, he hadnt cried sense he saw his parents die. "Damnit roxas. dont die on me." he cough up some blood, as if in response. Del was so helpless. he could do a damn thing right now. He wiped away his tears. he walked out of the room. the others need to hear this. "everybody. Roxas' blood loss is slowing down, but not stopping. the doctor has no idea what to do. i cant say if this will stop or not." he looked up. in a somber and serious voice, he said "the most we can do is hope." there was a gasp among the room. Del walked over to a sniveling ven. he sat with him and put an arm around him. he pulled him in to comfort him. "dont worry guys. he'll be okay. i know he will. but theres nothing we can do right now." then, under his breath, he said to ventus "were not gonna lose him. i promise." With that, he started to cry himself. he couldnt stop his feeling this time. he was scared.

(sorry its so long, i started typing and the feels kinda started pouring out.)

Kirby finally came to his senses once the doctor came. He looked up at Namine with an apologetic gesture. He stood next to her, scratching the back of his head. A man Kirby didn't know seemed very hysterical about the situation as well. For now, he just waited with Namine. He'll introduce her to the others once the madness has died down. The unknown man picked up Roxas and moved him into another room. During that moment, he held Namine's hand again and told her that the boy that was put in the other room was named Roxas. Afterwards, he finally pulled out his flashing and red star shard.

Did his shard cause this somehow? Or, perhaps it's flashing red to signify the horrible event happening at this very moment?

Kirby put the shard close to his heart and closed his eyes, helplessly hoping for Roxas to be alright. After a bit, the man came back, and started talking about Roxas' current condition. Kirby couldn't help but start tearing up as well. Is...is Roxas going to die? His own tears blinded him as he saw Ventus' sadness as well. He tried to wipe the tears away, but they just kept pouring. He didn't dare go over to the others right now. This was their moment.

But...Why? Why is this happening? What did Roxas do to deserve this? Did magic somehow cause it? But, magic isn't allowed here, right? He held Namine's hand tighter as his innocent stature just continued to weep. What can a small child like him do to help?

(Dang a crap ton happened while I was gone! Sorry, it was family movie night so no phones allowed.)

Roxas couldn't stop. He saw so many people running around frantically around him it made him even more scared for his life than he already was. No. He wasn't scared for his life. He was scared for /Ventus./ he couldn't leave his brother alone in this world. A world where you were to be hanged for just carrying a good luck charm. He couldn't do this to Ventus. He already took their father away from them and almost their mother. He couldn't ruin Ventus' life any more because of his own selfish ignorant mistakes. He reached out for his brother, trying his best to hack out his name. "V-V!" He doubled over and fell to the side where his body began to shook violently. His throat ached and his lungs were begging for air. Instead he was drowning within himself. Drowning in the thick red substance. He threw up another round of blood. It was almost shocking that he hasn't died from blood loss no- for this blood was not his own. "V-Vn!!!!"

Silver narrowed his eyes. His book was shaking slightly, as if it was responding to something. He saw what Link pointed out; a doctor and familiar faces rushing somewhere. Something wasn't right. He felt it- the darkness. Years of magic taught him how to become aware of the dark magic. This was no ordinary dark magic. He felt the darkness, he /smelt/ the darkness. No ordinary bed or curse was that powerful. He clutched his book strongly, and put his hand on Link's shoulder. "What ever this is I need you to help me- NOW!" He suddenly charged in the direction of the chaos. The pages in his book flipped open as if it was trying to reveal to Silver what hex or curse was taking place. He knew very well that any doctor would never be able to help in the situation that was taking place. No doctor could help whoever the victum was. He hoped to the Gods that no guards were nearby. "I can help!!!" He called, hoping someone would hear. "I can stop this!"

Ventus was silent. He didn't even say thank you to the doctor after he left. Tears were already rolling down his cheeks. He then heard something coming from upstairs.

"Roxas." he said. He quickly went to their room, and found his brother laying on the floor, vomiting blood again. And he was trying to call out his name! Ventus quickly

tried to help Roxas. "I'm here!" he cried. "Delsin! Tails! Bring some towels! Now!" he yelled. He began to panic. "Roxas. I'm here with you!." he said.

How was he in his room? Roxas was too disoriented to realize Delsin move him. His mind was too much in a whirl, he didn't even realized he rolled off of his own bed that Delsin had placed him on. Roxas closed his eyes tight, and held on to Ventus' shoulders as if his life depended on it. He couldn't help but throw up some more blood, getting some of it on Ventus' shirt. He tried his best to go towards the door, as if being present in his room was killing him. He was in a cold sweat. Every time he threw up, it felt like his lungs were filled up with more blood somehow. He wasn't bleeding. He knew he wasn't. There were no bruises on his chest. Nothing. He clawed at Ventus' shoulders in pain. He didn't want anyone else to see him like this; he felt weak.

Corvo grinned. He couldn't wait to teach his new found son everything... Well, almost everything. He missed traveling. Maybe he could even travel with Minato all over Boranvia. Maybe even see some other countries one day. Well, they would still have their new home sweet home here though. He didn't want to move around constantly like he always did. But a few far trips wouldn't hurt! He looked up to the celing where Mianto's room is. Hell, even the dog can join too. What was it, Kumasomething? Munakiko? He then looked to Alvin, then finally back at Minato. Alvin... He could join too. Alvin deserved it- well, as long as he doesn't get into trouble or visit any brothels. "I don't see why not. We can travel to wherever you'd like. I'd advise places that are kind to magic. Asnia next door is okay, but we would have to be very careful. You'll love the horses I ride. They're specially bred for racing and travel. Kings wish to have them. Alvin here fell off of one." Corvo almost snickered at the thought. He missed this... Having a family.

~Link Baxter~ Together, the two busted through the doors. No one was going to answer Silver's call, the situation seemed too dire.Link managed to find his way towards the room that everyone seemed to be gathered at. A few people he didn't recognize, that Kid who asked Silver for enchantment help, and.... Miles? No, that can wait. This kid needs help. Link noticed he was on his side. "Did none of you think to keep his body upright? If it's in his lungs, slushing around isn't going to help! It'll make things worse!" Link fought his way past the group of people and towards the boys side, lifting him up and keeping him on his knees. "Silver! He's here!"~Miles "Tails" Thompson~ Wait, Link? He must've heard the commotion from outside. Silver? Who was Silver? No matter. The urgency at hand was all that anyone should focus on. Link shouted about keeping Roxas upright... Tails said something about that before, but...~Dawn Estheim~ "Vanitas.... It's that Link guy, and his Magic friend!" Dawn wasn't sure what this did that could change the plans of the two. Dawn looked back on the scene, watching all the hubbub. It was kind of funny, watching everyone running around.

Suddenly, ventus rushed upstairs to roxas's room. del ran after him, and roxas was on the floor hunched over, vomiting blood agian. Delsin was mortified. there was nothing he could do. Then, two people came bursting in. they were the people who delsin had burst in on hoping to learn magic! he didnt know how or why they were here, but magic might be able to save roxas. "please mage, help him! do whatever you can!"

Roxas was startled when Link lifted him to his knees. He kept trying to get the blood out of his system, but it felt endless. He felt like staying in his room was going to kill him. He needed to get out of there. He kept trying to go foward, desperately trying to escape. He was terrified. He kept trying to call out for Ven. "V-V...!"

Silver ran with Link into the room. He immediately noticed Delsin and nodded. Silver's spell book was reacting violently in his hands in response to something. He never seen his book behave in such a way before. It suddenly flipped open, opening to a page where the exact he'd was written. "It's a hex... We need to search his things! Someone planted a hex!" He was unsure of what to do, except to search on Roxas' bed, under the pillows. That's the most common place to find hexes. He looked over to Ventus. "Do you know any places someone could hide something with Roxas' items? Under his books? In his satchel?" Silver hoped to God he made sense.

Vanitas grinned, and waved Dawn off. He enjoyed how this was unfolding. It was entertaining. "Let them. This might give some interesting inside as to the light mages' powers... It'll show us if he's going to be a true threat or not." They were all idiots. They can't even find a simple little charm under the bed.
