Sora96 17,256 Posted September 9, 2014 Earlier this month, Square Enix revealed Dragon Quest Heroes: The Dark Dragon and the Castle of the World Tree, an upcoming Warriors-style game for PS4 and PS3. This week’s issue of Famitsu shares more information from series creator Yuji Horii. [Thanks, Game Jouhou.] The concept message behind Dragon Quest Heroes is “From small to large, the invasion of 100 monsters”. According to Horii, it all started when he was thinking about making an action-style Dragon Quest game, then decided to request Koei Tecmo to develop it. The actual development for the game started last year with Square Enix handling the production and supervision, with Koei Tecmo’s Omega Force being in charge of its development. According to the report, Koei Tecmo had prepared the scenario, but Yuji Horii, who has worked on most of the series’ scenario, has put in a good share of work as well. As far as music goes, Dragon Quest series composer Koichi Sugiyama is the composer for the game, and will feature orchestrated arrangements of popular tunes from the series. And of course, the game will have the iconic level-up chime. Finally, Horii also stated, “Dragon Quest XI is being developed simultaneously alongside Dragon Quest Heroes, but we’d like you all to play this title first to bring out enlivened feelings before going to the next title.” Additionally, you may recall that Square are also working on a new Dragon Quest Monsters game. Dragon Quest Heroes is slated for release sometime in spring 2015 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. You can check out the game’s first trailer in our earlier report. Dio Brando 5,810 Posted September 9, 2014 Not really sure DQ Heroes is coming to Ps4Ps3 but that doesn't mean DQXI would do the same Most likely the sequel is gonna be on something like 3DS or Vita since those are selling more in Japan than consoles 1 Shulk reacted to this

Of course though there is no confirmed platform but I don't think we should be so quick to rule out a PS4, Wii U or Xbox One release. Though the PS4 seems the most likely. Well X came out on Wii U,the original Wii and 3DS so I dunno what console they'll actually put it on But what I'm saying is the console market in Japan is barely alive, sure the Wii U there is selling more than Ps4 compared to the rest of the world but that's not saying much when both Ps4 and Wii U sales don't come close to the 3DS there Personally I don't have the money to buy a Ps4 at the moment so I hope at least there will be a Ps3Wii U version....or at least a Ps3 version

The PS4 not selling well could all track back to one thing and that is there aren't that many titles that appeal to the Japanese market on it yet. PS3 games still sell well as far as I know. As for Wii U, well it could do better worldwide let alone in Japan.

I know the Wii U needs a push worldwide but it's doing okay in Japan and in terms of worldwide sales it's ahead of the Xbox One by 2 million units but behind the Ps4 Hopefully Smash Bros 4 will do it's magic when the Wii U version comes out in the holiday season

Xbox One and Wii U sales have been on par on a weekly bases for a bit according to VGChartz. They're cutting it close with Smash.

Sorarocks93 678 Posted September 9, 2014 Wasn't the last most profitable one Dragon Quest VIII? That was the last of the numbered single player games that came to a main console. X is an MMORPG. So, what happened?
Isaix 924 Posted September 9, 2014 It would be nice to have a Dragon Quest game on current gen consoles,I'd like to get into Dragon Quest someday.

Shulk 8,623 Posted September 9, 2014 I'm expecting Wii U, although I suppose PS4 is also an option. As long as we actually get this one outside Japan, I'm fine with whatever it's on.

wolfsinner 22 Posted September 9, 2014 PS4 would be great, it just doesn't feel as good on a portable console (and even less as a MMOG). DQVIII is still one of the best RPGs I've ever played, and I'm pretty sure it always will be.
