Cucco 1,907 Posted September 8, 2014 (edited) My mom didn't let me watch Cartoon Network without asking until I was 7 or 8, and they especially disliked me watching the Grim adventures of billy and mandy for whatever reason. I remember it being pretty much harmless, with shows like fosters home for imaginary friends and ed,edd, and eddy. I still have no idea why they banned me from watching it without asking for such a long time. They did let me watch pokemon and all that junk though. (yet they let me watch ren&stimpy when I was little, weird) Edited September 8, 2014 by Cucco
Sora 2,184 Posted September 8, 2014 They didn't let me watch Ed Edd & Eddy. But that just made the show 19372x better when I would sneak watch it while my parents were gone >:]

But yeah, I watched courage the cowardly dog a lot at the day care I was at when I was around 3 or 4, and it was scary as firetruck. Hey stuff on Boomerang and BIC was good stuff. Johnny Quest, Thundercats, Heman, Yogi Bear, Speed Racer, Sonic and a bunch of others were cool shows. I was banned later from watching Yugioh, but once they told me why, I was okay not watching it.

And that one Courage with the mummy is still a little eerie. " Return my slabbb...." Ihk.

That episode scarred me for life. Not even kidding, it was messed up. I don't remember being particularly banned from watching any cartoons, aside from the obvious Adult Swim-type stuff. I remember they let me watch toonami-block shows for whatever reason even though it was incredibly mature in comparison to stuff like ed edd and eddy lol. I think Naruto is the anime I've watched the longest in my life.

Queen Tery 4,591 Posted September 8, 2014 My mom didn't like me watching Ed, Ed, and Eddy or Family Guy. But she was pretty bad at enforcing rules so as a kid I took advantage of that and watched them anyway. 1 Sora reacted to this
Demyx. 10,064 Posted September 8, 2014 My dad wouldn't let us watch Ren & Stimpy. I watched it anyway though.
Guest Posted September 8, 2014 Basically any anime. She didn't like the idea of me watching it because it was violent/suggestive, but my tiny, childish brain only processed the awesome action of mecha bashing each-other in the face and kamehameha's being blasted into Cell's face. Even now with knowing what I do I mainly only process the action still.
Anti-SOLDIER 68 Posted September 8, 2014 My mom didn't like it when I watched Power Rangers because of all the violence and monsters and stuff. My dad allowed me to watch it though, so I did. My mom just never liked the idea of it.
KHUndertaleFan25 2,858 Posted September 8, 2014 (edited) My mom didn't want me to watch Adventure Time (I watched a few episodes when I was 10) because it was scary to her. However, I did watch Dragon Ball Z Kai with my brother Danny when I was 6. And she and my dad allowed me to watch it. Weird, right? Ceriraye 485 Posted September 8, 2014 My mom didnt let me watch anything on Cartoon Network until I was like.....9-10. I think she said the shows wasn't very kid friendly for someone my age (about 5-6 at the time) so I dunno
Dracozombie 4,554 Posted September 8, 2014 The only enforcements I remember were the Itchy & Scratchy segments on The Simpsons, and there might've been a ban on Ren and Stimpy too, but I never had the urge to watch it to begin with so I don't remember. My dad also banned my brother from watching South Park, but that was a more reasonable ban...
