This summer my thread gets a sequel Just as the title says 100 things about KH that really grinds my gears (and yours too)

1) Awkward announcement dates, Tesuya Nomura: "Want moar KH gamu desu? well we're going to take up to 3 years and another on localisation cause japanese is serious business lol right desu ne?"

 

2) Awkward platform releases, Tesuya Nomura: "btw lol remember the way I said there was 3 new gamu desu? Well it turns out they'll be on 3 systems instead of PS2 so go out and buy them lol desu ne."

 

3) Remakes, Tesuya Nomura: "Hey KH fans desu ne want me to divert SE resources on remakes? Want them released in less territories? Yes? Okeydokey heres ReCOM. Whats that? you dont want limited territorial releases? I'll get right on it desu ne. Tada ReCoded (Lol arent I so not baka putting Re at the start of remakes?)

 

4) Retcons, "Lol his not actually called Ansem"

 

5)Quasical retcons, "Lol Xions super important, just everyones (except the fans) going to forget"

Ok I couldn't understand half the stuff you said. So you are saying you are mad about remakes and new characters and the storyline in a way? And if you are well here's what I got to say. It's not easy making a game y'know, I mean, I'm pretty sure tetsuya nomura is doing all he can to entertain us. You can't just say "oh I want final mix and I want it now!!" and it will happen. Tetsuya is going through a lot of pressure in his life. So cut him some slack. You try being a game designer or director and then complain. Geez, people always gotta complain about "this game has bad graphics" or " they edited this out". Get off of him dude can't you see he has a lot of projects to work on? Just be happy with what you have.

- Censoring. If parents actually bothered to check out the ESRB ratings and be more strict with their kids, we wouldn't have to deal with this. Hydra blood censored, when it wasn't even done so in the Hercules game. Braig's sniper rifle and crosshairs? Too violent; here's some fancy spinning instead. Oh Tifa, only Ariel's allowed to have midrif, so we're lengthening your pants.

@ KingdomHearts125 Relax its just tongue in cheek, I actually loved Days I just didn't like what happened to Xion. As for ReCoded Im excited for it. Although SE really need to resist announcing games which aren't due for 2 to 3 years and multi-platform releases is chancing their arms. Trust me when I say I know how hard his work is but he really needs to lighten his load, but dont thinking hes all alone has plenty of collaborators like Daisuke Watanabe.

 

@ Reversal stereotypial yes but I wouldn't go as far as racist I mean at least I didn't say "rike" and ESRB deserve another thread on how ridiculous their system is

i dont make much money so its hard to buy all these different systems

And im not sure,but if working on remakes and sidestorys takes time and resources away from games like BBS then thats annoying too

Also,i dont get everybody hating Sora's reaction to findingn Riku in KH2,i mean he was just reunited with his best friend after not knowing where he was or if he was even alive,i mean id get emotional too

Its short for Retroactive Continuity its usually the bane of fandom of everything if its done wrong or just not to people's liking, prequels and interquels are usually the top offenders with sequels and remakes potentially being as bad. What it means is they'll change things in the past so as to not contradict or to suit future story canonicity.

 

One major example is the addiction and role of Xion in Days, shes made such an important character that I thought they'd retcon KHII just to accommodate her role in Days. But they pull a cheap move an effectively retcon Days in Days using memory loss and I wasn't to happy with it and Im hoping they'll address Xion later.

@ Reversal, I didn't even notice a change in Tifa's outfit. It's weird that they censored her, though. I mean, Yuffie had a bare midriff in KH1 and Rikku and Paine (I think) in KH2 had bare midriffs and they're not from Disney.
