Tails 6,692 Posted August 24, 2014 (edited) So I've been thinking about picking up Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. And yes, I am aware that it is a very short game. However, I'm a big fan of the MGS series and I would like to get Ground Zeroes to add to my collection on having the entire MGS series on the PS3 (I have all the other MGS games on PS3 and plan to get both this and Phantom Pain on my PS3 since it's a system I currently own and I don't have a PS4 yet) and I've been into the MGS series since MGS1 back when I played it on the PS1. So tell me, how much replay value does Ground Zeroes actually have? Is there a whole lot of replay value? Or is there very little replay value in it? MasterXemnas 2,285 Posted August 24, 2014 Fool. Depends on how much you do on your first play through.
Xian Cano 78 Posted August 24, 2014 (edited) Well, that depends. Theres a couple of missions (each really fun) and if played right take around 15 minutes each, minimum.they are extremely fun and I see you are a sonic fan, so i think you take CLEAR grades seriously sometimes. And I swear nothing feels better than getting S ranks. To answer your question, it has A LOT of replay value. From side mission, ranks, trophies, and these small challenges, you can spend a lot of time with that game. More than i'd like to admit... if you can find it cheap, and you have the time, do it. (Plus I've replayed each level many times, and i went through them diffrently each time with diffrent tactics that challenge my stratigic stealthy self) Edited August 24, 2014 by Xian Cano 1 Tails reacted to this
neil98 313 Posted August 24, 2014 It has a 30 hour replay value. Definetly worth it. Too bad the main story is finished within 2 and a half hours though...
Hardrada 117 Posted August 24, 2014 The "campaign" can be beat in 10 minutes, and the side missions all take place in the same location with different lighting. Depens on how appealing this sounds to you.
Kaweebo 3,617 Posted August 24, 2014 Depends on if you're willing to play in the same map for five different missions on different difficulty levels.

I did the same thing with MGS3 back when I played it on the PS2 (and I still do it on the HD version). I've played it so many times and thought of different ways to sneak past enemy soldiers. I'm a complete pro at MGS3 now that I've played it countless times. Same goes for MGS4 too. And yeah, I am a Sonic fan and I LOVE getting the highest ranks in games like this. So this could be a good incentive for me to replay missions if I get a lower rank and would like to increase it. It has a 30 hour replay value. Definetly worth it. Too bad the main story is finished within 2 and a half hours though... Yeah, I even heard that in a speedrun it can be beat within 10 minutes. Caity 3,946 Posted August 24, 2014 My boyfriend is a massive fan of MGS, it's to him what KH is to me, and he said he doesn't have enough replay value to buy and would recommend renting it instead, or wait til it drops in price because it's a good game, but disappointingly short and not worth the money at full retail. He also said the PS3 version is the inferior version of the game.
Hero of Light XIV 2,381 Posted August 24, 2014 I'm still getting into the Metal Gear series, so I'm the wrong guy to ask. I'm still in the midst of taking a break from Metal Gear Solid 4, last I played, I was somewhere in the early half of Act 2. The remapping of the controls really threw me for a loop and I'm a little unnerved by how everything is starting to resemble an mmo shooter game all of the sudden. Hopefully I can get back a rhythm to playing, because this game really keeps you on your toes more than the last few titles I played.
