You don't need to be Christian to celebrate Christmas

Christmas has been Celebrated long before the birth of Jesus Christ. It was only around 300 A.D. when the Catholic Church took it over and renamed it Christmas.

 

I just like to do it because it's a fun holiday that I can celebrate with my family and be happy.  People from other religions and atheists celebrate it all the time for the same reason.

Christmas isn't JUST religious. It has a religious side of it. I choose not to celebrate that side of it. I celebrate the family and friends side of it.

I think this would probably be more appropriate near christmastime lol. But yeah it's an annoying misconception. Everyone in my family is atheist or anti-theist and yet we love christmas! We have so many decorations and it's my favorite time of year! I think it's just a very pretty time of year, people are happier, and you get to spend time with family (which has its downsides but is still nice) and it provides a much-needed break from school. Regardless of why people celebrate it, I think everyone can agree it's a lovely time of year where families get to come together and that's nice.

You know, that's the best thing about Christmas.  It's a time for everyone to enjoy, no matter what beliefs the person or people may have.  Christmas symbolizes the unity of mankind in a small moment of peace and respite.  Christmas is indeed a time to enjoy with your family and your loved ones, and no one should have to be deprived of Christmas because of religious belief or not.  Christmas is for all to enjoy!  I believe in Jesus Christ, but I also believe that everyone deserves to have a Merry Christmas, because every person has the right to do so.

I've delve into both the religious and the, I guess, "normal" side of Christmas whenever it comes around. I was even in one of those plays that reenacted the birth of Jesus Christ. Even so, I always lean towards the general concept of the holiday: giving to others and spending time with friends and family.
