Villi1997 1,832 Posted August 16, 2014 In my opinion, i prefer graphic novels for one simple reason: YOU GET TO SEE WHAT IS GOING ON! You get to SEE Spider-Man swing around New York City! You get to SEE the dramatic tension that is going on with the characters! You get to SEE what Green Lantern is creating via his ring! The key-word in my opinion is SEEING! what is your opinion? Kaweebo 3,617 Posted August 16, 2014 Graphic novels. Not to say that using my imagination while reading regular novels isn't interesting in its own right, but it's not nearly as fun. Kind of why I prefer most books I read get a proper film adaptation. 1 Jilly Shears reacted to this
Captain Arrowguns 466 Posted August 16, 2014 (edited) Regular novels, that way I can use my imagination more. If I want a story to be shown to me, I'll watch a movie or TV show, where it can be done better. Besides, that way you don't have to worry about the are style being too distracting. Wolf on the Run 391 Posted August 16, 2014 I'm a Light Novel man myself that way you can get a bit of each though the book will be mainly text you will still get a number of images within the book to see whats going on and see what characters look like
Forever 3,550 Posted August 16, 2014 I think I value both equally. The cool thing about graphic novels is that you get pictures, but with regular novels you get to use your imagination. And as an artist, I don't mind envisioning things.
Jilly Shears 2,144 Posted August 16, 2014 I think there's a place for both. I personally like books better so I could make my own interpretation of scenes and characters and stuff, but graphic novels are cool too.

Stray Reaper 143 Posted August 16, 2014 Both are amazing in my opinion and all it hinges on is the creative team behind the piece.
Shulk 8,623 Posted August 17, 2014 Novels. I can't ever follow what's happening in a graphic novel, while in a book, it's all right there for me so I don't need to worry about missing anything.

Philip Ellwell 5,487 Posted August 18, 2014 Since I've only been a manga reader the past two years of my total 19, i'm gonna go with novels: I've know that format longer, and comic book versions of regular novels, as well as manga versions, seem awkward to me, like the failed maximum ride series that didn't get renewed for books 2 -
