"Giotto is my boss. I have to work tonight on a very important case, so sadly I will not be able to spend the night with you." Aya said, finishing her mint tea.

"However I rather be staying here then working kn what I have to work on." She said rather seriously.

Aya stood up, looking at Veran.

"Lets go Veran." She snapped at her butler.

"As my lady wishes." Veran said, bowing to Aya. He stood up, and gently waited for Lady Aya to get up as well. Veran slightly glanced at Samael. The poor man. Betrothed to Aya--a woman who wasn't easily wooed...or really interested in anything at all.

"I hope to see you again, sir." Veran said, giving a polite bow to Samael.

Aya stood, walking to Veran's side.

"I will see when I will be able to come over next, Samael." Aya said before walking away, the maids leading Aya to the door.

Once Giotto, Aya and Veran were alone, Aya was able to speak comfortably again.

"Do you have the peasant clothes?" She immdiently asked.

"Naturally." Veran nodded, "I take pride in my preparedness and promptness, m'lady."

He smiled a bit, glad to be so prepared for his lady. If he were to ever not be so ready for anything, it was sure to be the end of the world, "You just say the word, and I shall fetch them. Then, we may begin whatever it is next on our always-busy schedule."

Samael smiled and bowed slightly. "It was an honor having you over! I do hope to see you again as well."Samael said as he waved and watched the two walk away. The moment they were out the door,Samael's expression grew severe and serious. "Anabelle...I hope your method is correct. To do what I'm about to do to such a lovely lady...I would devastated if you were to lie to me."Samael said as he picked up the small doll in his hands and smiled down at it. "But you would never lie to me,would you Anabelle?"Samael asked with a fearful tone,to which the doll's head moved side to side,as in saying no. Samael smiled at Anabelle as he rubbed his face against the small doll. "I love you too,Anabelle."Samael whispered with happiness hinted in his voice. Meanwhile outside was Giotto waiting for the two. "Oh there you guys are."Giotto smiled as he waved. "I got us the PERFECT transportation for this mission!"Giotto said,rather proud of himself. He then spun dramatically as he demonstrated what seemed to be a rather luxurious carriage with gorgeous breed horses. But that was just what happened to be infront of the actual thing. As the carriage was moved away it showed the true transportation that Giotto had gotten them. It was an open air carriage,like the ones used by villagers to go from one town to another,and it was being pulled by four donkeys. Yes. donkeys. Not horses. But donkeys. It was bloody perfect yet ridiculous. "Tada!!!~"Giotto said as one of the donkeys casually ate a carrot.

"I thought you were serious about a wondeful thing." Aya muttered.

She looked at Veran, almost a glare.

"Should we head back to the house first or do you have the pesant clothes Veran?" Aya asked her butler.

[Silvia Kuroi 1,480]

"I have them." He smiled, producing a set of your average peasant's attire from who knows where, "You should know very well, M'lady, that I always come prepared no matter the circumstance. You requested that I look for peasant's clothes, and so I made sure to bring some with me."

"Shall I get dressed now?"

"Giotto, start driving to the town and stop near the woods some where. We will get dressed there." Aya yelled at Giotto.

She took the peasant clothes from Veran. They were obviously peasant clothing, a long dress with a low cut top that would make Aya look busty, loose sleeves, colored white and about to her elbows. Also a green top like thing that went over the white part of her dress some. Also a pair of black flats for the occasion.

Aya then looked at Giotto.

"Also I hope you don't mind being flashed...actually I prefer you look away from me as I dress. Veran doesn't have to look away however, he is my butler he practically knows everything about me." She stated simply.

Giotto quickly waved some carrots in front of the donkeys by using a stick and a string,which prompt the donkeys to move forward as they took them to the town. "Don't worry lady Aya. I won't look at you as you dress. I'll keep my eyes covered."Giotto said. He lighted up a small lantern to the side as the donkeys started to ride through the forest route that leaded to the town. "You can dress while on your way on this route. It's usually abandoned and not used by people,not since the kidnappings and murders started that is."Giotto said as the donkeys were relentless of getting those carrots. "I hope this goes on along smoothly."Giotto muttered. Aya was rather young,and that worried Giotto,but he also knew that the girl had made a contract that no mere mortal would dare to do,so with the butler around she would be in the safest state. Suddenly,within the silent of their nightly trail-

 

"HELP!!!"

 

The donkeys freaked out due to the scream,along with Giotto as they all seemed to jump,looking around for the source of it. "What the bloody hell?!"Giotto asked. From the darkness of the forest,which the only light currently was the lantern Giotto had brought along,a figure was running towards them. "Help! You have to help us!" The figure seemed like a young boy around the age of 12,maybe 13. He had hair white as snow and striking blue eyes that even in the dark of the night it would seem to gleam. "W-What are you doing here kid?! This isn't a safe road to be wandering around at night! Haven't you heard of the murders?!"Giotto scolded. "I have,but that's just it! My sister has been taken away by the kidnapper!"The young man yelled. "Say what now?"Giotto asked,glancing back at Aya and Veran to see if they were hearing this. "We were hurrying trying to get home by sunset,but the man suddenly ambushed us and took my sister! I followed him to his lair but I know I can't do anything against him on my own. Please,please save my sister!"The young man begged. Giotto didn't know how to respond. All of these seemed too...perfect of a coincidence. "Guys?"Giotto asked as he turned to Veran and Aya. Surely they had noticed that this was too perfect to be true.

Aya immidently walked up to the white haired boy. "Sir, we shall get your sister back. What is your name and what is your sisters name?" She asked.

Aya held out a small card to the boy showing that she was the head of the Everus household.

"I am now a detective and going undercover tonight as bait. I feel as if I can trust you...but If I cannot...you wont ever see the light of day again." Aya said seriously.

The little boy looked down at the card almost in disbelief as he then seemed to hug lady Aya tightly. "Thank you thank you!"The boy cried as he looked up. "My name is Fru. My sister's name is Tez."The boy muttered nervously. "...mam."Fru finished as he gave a small bow. Giotto glanced at Aya. "We're going directly into the wolf's mouth."Giotto muttered. Fru quickly pointed forward into the darkness. "My sister got taken away just a few feet ahead. When I chased him it turns out that his lair is hidden within the forest."Fru insisted as he took Aya's hand and started to pull lightly. "This way,quickly! I've heard rumors,I don't want him to kill my sister! We have to stop him before its too late! Otherwise he'll kill her,and then-then-then-!"Fru said as he was hysterical,at the verge of tears as he could be seen holding in his sobs. "O-Ok ok! We're going to help your sister!"Giotto said as he jumped down from the carriage. "It's more accessable by foot. This way!"Fru said as he started to run. "Hey wait! Don't go running so fast!"Giotto yelled as he groaned to himself. "If what the kid says is true...we only have a matter of time before the girl is disected like the rest."Giotto muttered as he hurried wit Veran and Aya.

"I wish I was at home asleep..." Aya muttered to herself rubbing the side of her head.

"Lets get this over with, Veran." She sighed, running after Fru.

They all ran after Fru,through the forest itself deeper into the wild parts of it,much to Giotto's dismay as he was afraid on stepping on something that was alive down there. Soon enough they saw Fru stop at the base of a random tree. "Why are you stopping? We're catching up?"Giotto asked as he panted. He needed to get in better shape. "It's here."Fru muttered as he seemingly reached to the trunk of the tree and it turned out it was a door,as the kid opened it up to show a ladder leading downwards to a light. "Whoa."Giotto muttered. "I'm coming sis!"Fru yelled as he jumped down. "HEY!"Giotto yelled as he went after the kid,but ended up falling forward. At the bottom Giotto was greeted by a soft landing...of body parts. He shrieked as he jumped off it and tried to wipe the blood off himself. "Tez?!"Fru called as he ran deeper into the tunnel. "Wait!"Giotto said as he,Veran and Aya hurried down the tunnel. The sight that they met was horrific. Within the circular,underground sanctuary,in the middle there was a metal bed with a body made out of different body parts. The arms,the legs,the torso,and so on,everything belonging to a different person yet seemingly fitting perfectly. All around there were tables with bloody  tools,schematics and books of the human body and the supernatural. Body parts were hanging from chains of the ceiling like meat in a freezer,bones scattered everywhere as maggots ate on the rotting body parts of the missing girls from corner to corner that lay on the floor. The scent of rotting blood and flesh alone was so strong it almost made Giotto puke. The place had no ventelation,so it was no surprise the scent hadn't surfaced. It was a spectacle of horror. Giotto felt tears form as he knew that by this point the missing girls would have to be delivered home in pieces. "What kind of hell is this place...?!"Giotto muttered. He had seen alot of horrid stuff in his workline. But this one took the cake and ate it too. "I'm sorry you had to get involved in such horrid bussiness,lady Aya."Giotto muttered,still in shock. In a cage sat a young girl with gorgeous red hair and blazing green eyes. "Tez!"Fru yelled as he ran to the girl trapped in the cage. "You came for me!"Tez said almost the verge of tears as the siblings held each other's hands. "We need to get her out of here."Giotto said as he heard footsteps behind the group. "As if I'll allow you to do that." From the shadows of the dark entrance came an unexpected (or expected) figure. It was Marco. He seemed surprise to see Aya there,but he didn't lose his calm. "I'm so happy to have you over,lady Aya. Hopefully you'll willingly become part of the plan,otherwise I'll have to get rough."Marco said as he took off his white gloves.

Aya immdiently hid behind Veran, starting to shake her head.

"No...I want out already! Get me out of this horrid place! Why is this here?! Why do you want me?! Get me out of here already! Its disgusting!" Aya just suddenly began yelling and pitching a fit at the top of her lungs.

She grabbed her hand gun and took off her eyepatch before suddenly starting to shoot at Marco.

"You horrible man!" Aya screamed.

Something triggered within Aya...something dark and frightening.

As Marco threw away his gloves,the bullets seemed to disappear the moment they reached him. Giotto's eyes widened. "What the-?!"Giotto asked. Marco gently lifted his hands to show he had caught the bullets between his fingers,smoke steaming out of them still. "Holy shi-"Giotto muttered when he was interrupted. "I am afraid I cannot allow you to do that."Marco hissed as he threw the bullets to the side. Giotto took out his own weapon,a dagger. "What the hell are you?! Are you a demon?!"Giotto asked. Marco's eyes filled with disgust. "Don't compare me to one of those repulsive things."Marco muttered,taking a step closer. "I'm the result of what happens when a human and a Shinigami fall in love for each other."Marco said as he seemed to give a small smirk. "I'm a hybrid. Human with Shinigami powers. If it weren't for my human side I wouldn't be able to hide my powers so well now would I?"Marco said as he took yet another step forward. "Now I don't want your soul. All I want from you,Aya...is your heart."Marco said as he had a blade come from underneath his sleeve. Giotto stood in the front. "As if we'd let you hurt her. Your reign of terror ends here!"Giotto warned. "...does it,really?"Marco asked as he suddenly laughed to himself. "Fru-Fru! Tez-Tez!"Marco said with a click of his tongue. From behind Giotto heard growling noises as the two children seemed to get covered in fire,their clothes being heard ripped off as they started to grow,overshadowing the group. "You really think that I would have normal pets for the Pandora household?!"Marco asked as the two children weren't human anymore. The girl had turned into a giant,beastly,wolf like hound. The boy had turned into what seemed like a giant saber tooth tiger. "A werecat and a hellhound."Marco chuckled to himself in glee as he watched the two surround the group like a beast surrounds its prey. "I came prepared. Your demonic butler can only protect you so much against us until the main guest arrives."Marco laughed.

Aya froze as soon as Marco caught the bullets and mentioned taking her heart.

"I—It can't be Samael..." She muttered to herself.

Aya just dropped to her knees. She already hated this job. It brought up too many memories of her killed parents.

Aya's contract sign glowed as she looked to Veran.

"Veran, protect me and get us out of here alice, including Giotto. That is a true order." Aya commanded.

She was literally shaking like crazy, what was going on? Why was all this happening so fast?

Marco frowned. "I wish it was him. But truthfully. I'm doing this for his sake. Because she wants your heart."Marco said as he felt his fists tighten. "About time!" This voice wasn't someone anyone recognized. But it was familiar. It was a clarified and feminine version of the whisper that Aya and Veran had heard back at the Pandora manor. Footsteps. As Marco turned he saw Samael walked over to the group,with Anabelle sitting on his head. But something was off. His eyes were souless as he had a strange aura surrounding him. "Here we go. The lady of Everus with a heart that I envy so much!"The feminine voice echoed as Samael's body moved to the beat of the voice,somewhat as if someone was controlling him as a puppet. Both Tez-Tez and Fru-Fru growled at Samael,or whoever it was that was speaking. "Guys,no,that's Samael's body!"Marco quickly objected,to which the two seemed to back off from jumping on the young lord Pandora. "Truthfully I should've thought of using this type of thing earlier. But I knew that you guys building up your love for the boy was the only way you would listen to me."The voice said as Samael's body moved and extended its arms. "Now go ahead,bring me her heart and complete my body. Then I'll give you back the Samael you care for so very much."The voiced hissed before giving off an insane laughter. Marco's expression darkened as his bangs covered his eyes. Fru-Fru seemed to give off a grunt of displease. "...I'm sorry..."He hissed,his voice echoing,refering his apology to Aya. Marco turned to the group as his eyes were filled with fear and anger. "Aya. For Samael's sake and soul,I will rip your heart out to appease the spirit."Marco said as he pointed his knife at her. "Wait,what the hell?! Why are you possessing Samael...since when?!"Giotto asked,demanding answers. The voice seemed to pause in thought. "...ever since that damn shinigami killed me!"The voice roared. Giotto paused. "You couldn't possibly be...Lady Pandora?"Giotto asked. He remembered that case. It was a tragic death. Though it was categorized as illness. "I was never sick on accident! I was sicked on by a shinigami who wanted me to die on schedule! But I was smart,right before my death I made a ritual to make sure my soul would be locked within Samael's body. Using the doll I insisted my baby Samael that I was a spirit of a young girl who was going to help him fall in love. While the idiot was busy doing errands to take care of his father Marco here had no choice but to follow my orders,otherwise...I'll crush this boy's heart in half."The spirit hissed as the growls from the beasts only got louder. "But now I digress. I've gone far beyond my schedule,and once I get the perfect body I've always wanted...I'll marry Samael and we'll live happily ever after."The spirit insisted. The spirit was insane to say the least. "Lady Pandora..."Giotto muttered. To think that she would use her own son as bait was unthinkable. Samael had only been dragged in because of a selfish spirit who decided he would be the perfect host for her show.

Veran produced the silver revolver from his coat pocket, and pointed it first at the doll, then Marco. "Anyone so much as touches my lady and I shall make several new holes to decorate your body."

He glared at Marco, his eyes showing a demonic intent before the gun's barrel moved to point at the deplorable, disgusting doll, "I recommend you release Sir Samael, or else I shall dispose of you as well. And trust me, you will not enjoy the way I take care of rogue souls."

Aya slowly stood, walking towards Giotto slowly.

"Veran can take care of this." She said seriously.

Aya reloaded her pistol, pointing it at the doll controling Samael.

"Do you not have some sort of weapon?" She asked.

The voiced chuckled as the body picked up the doll and settled it right over where the heart would be on Samael. "Just me and this body. Well then,go ahead. If you want to gain my soul,demon,you're going to have to kill my host first,won't you?"The ghost hissed. "Don't you dare shoot!"Marco yelled at Veran and at Aya. "If you shoot and kill Samael in the process...none of you will leave this place alive either."Marco roared,the two giant beasts growling behind him. Marco stared before gulping to himself. "Please don't kill lord Samael...he's our only friend!"Marco yelled as the two beasts whimpered in agreement. "Samael's the one who found us and gave us a home,despite knowing that we weren't human! So if there's anything that's going to happen...just don't kill Samael. Do what you want to us,Veran,and eat our souls! But please,spare Samael!"Marco spoke truthfully,never saying a single lie. "Hehehe...how pathetic."The feminine voice said as she glanced over at Marco and groaned to herself. "Listen up half-breed,if you don't complete my body in a matter of five minutes,I'll make sure to make Samael my permanent host!"The voice once again laughed. But the ghost simply had forgotten how strong can the will of a human can be. "...Aya,Veran." The body talked. It was Samael. "Huh?! What?!" "...shoot me!" "Lord Samael! He's still in thee!"Marco smiled. The two beasts nodded at each other before they tackled Samael's body down to the ground,pinning it down so the ghost wouldn't attempt anything. "Veran,you can eat souls,right?"Marco asked as he looked at Veran desperately. "Listen to your flatchested owner and go kill that ghost!"Marco said. "MARCO THAT'S NOT NICE OF YOU TO SAY!"Giotto hissed.

"Veran, today is a treat. Eat Samael's soul. Don't kill him. Eating his soul can get rid of the ghost." Aya demanded.

Aya started walking towards Samael, kneeling down beside him.

The symbol in her eye was glowing, it fully visible.

"I am really sorry about this Samael. We aren't going to shoot you."

Aya then turned straight to Marco.

"Isn't Samael your master?! Aren't you going to help him?!" She yelled.

Veran sighed and walked up to Samael. He kept his gun pointed at the others, just to ensure none of them did something stupid and tried to attack him. Veran stood over Samael, glaring at him.

"My apologies, Master Samael. But m'lady has requested that I...end this." He smirked, a bit of white teeth showing, "I hope you don't mind that I....get a taste of both you and your doll's souls."

 

The revolver clattered to the ground as Veran instantly went for Samael...and that soul of his.

Marco's eyes widened as he trembled. He bit his lip and walked over to Samael,kneeling down besides Samael. "I wish I had a death scythe like my father has. That way I could get rid of the evil spirit and save Samael long before any of this happened to him."Marco admitted,being one of those few times that he ever did show the emotion of regret. Marco looked up straight at Aya. "If Veran eats Samael's soul,won't that mean that Samael would be gone forever?!"Marco asked as he could feel tears building up as he looked down at Samael,gripping one of his hands tightly. "Lord,Samael?"Marco muttered. He could hear him chuckle a bit. "It's hard to keep this ghost from escaping,you know."He muttered as he looked up. "If I knew you felt this way,Marco. I would've kissed you earlier."Samael smiled,which made Marco's face turn as red as a lobster. "Ah...Lord Samael...!!!"Marco said as he gripped down on Samael's shoulder for balance. "It's all my fault,I think. I should've tried to get help of getting rid of this ghost from me as soon as possible. But it's too late now...I've done horrible things."Samael muttered. "It wasn't you! It was the ghost! We'll take the blame,my lord! I'll take the blame!"Marco yelled as he looked up ay Aya whimpering and then back down at Samael. Samael couldn't help but to give a sad smile. "I've caused so much pain because of this ghost within me,I'm so sorry you had to get involved,Aya,Marco,everyone...I won't mind getting eaten by Veran. I think it's a suitable punishment for me. Marco,you're in charge of the Pandora household from now on....you know where the scriptures are." As that happened Veran went ahead to feast upon his soul. "NO! Get away from him!"Marco cried but the two beasts kept Marco at bay. Samael looked up at Veran. "Hopefully my soul doesn't...taste bitter...thank you,for freeing me,and giving us both a rightful punishment. Guess demons do get to be the hero of the fairy tale after all..."Samael said with his softest smile,internally fighting the screaming ghost within him as the two souls were eaten up by Veran,much to Marco's agony.

Aya stood up and walked away from Samael and towards Marco.

"Samael will not be dead, he will just have no soul. He will be diffent...sadder maybe." She said, facing him.

"I guess you have no reason to get my heart now, do you?" She asked Marco.

Marco stared at Aya,his eyes wide. he could feel tears falling down his eyes as he looked down,muttering under his breath.

 

"...you're a very special person...no wonder Samael loves you."Marco muttered as he then looked up at Aya,quickly grabbing her hand and pressing his forehead against it. "Thank you,Aya!...I owe you alot."Marco muttered. He hated to admit it,but the fact that they did what Marco could never do,was something he just had to thank. Giotto scratched the back of his head.

 

"This is definitely one of the weirdest cases I've ever been part of."Giotto muttered. Turning back into their humans form,Fru-Fru and Tez-Tez turned to Giotto with glares.

 

"You aren't going to arrest Giotto right?" "You should arrest us instead." The two said. Giotto felt a bead of sweat go down his forehead.

 

"Well,um,"Giotto stammered.

 

"If you jail him we'll kill you." "Then we'll eat you with tea."The small twin like beings said once more.

 

"Geez calm down will you! Samael wasn't fully the culprit,it was a ghost,and that isn't exactly something we can tell the public to believe."Giotto muttered as he thought about it. This would be one of those cases again. "Well,I guess we can consider this case closed."Giotto said simply as he glanced over at Aya and Veran. "I will tell the queen the full report of it and how you have taken care of the real culprit. As for the public...we'll just have to make this case one of those unsolved cases that fades into history with a bang."Giotto said as he got a finger over his mouth. "This place will forever remain secret...and it'll all be our dirty little secret,ours and the queen's."Giotto smiled a bit as he glanced at Veran and Aya. "You two make a great team...I'm impressed. The queen did a great job in choosing the two of you to become the watch dogs of the underworld."Giotto chuckled a bit. Then there was clapping.

 

"Woot! You guys did GREAT!"

 

Marco's eyes twitched to the sound of that one particular voice. "YOU! COME OUT WHEREVER YOU ARE YOU F*CKING PIECE OF ****!!!"Marco yelled. Yeah,he was back to normal now. From the shadows a figure jumped down,wearing a uniform and glasses. The man looked around his 30s or early 25s,and had a garden rake with sharp teeth.

 

"That's not a nice thing to say to your dad."The man muttered.

 

"You may be my dad but you're an @$$ letting all of this happen on its own no wonder you're a god damn disgrace to the Shinigami society you f*cking suck!"Marco ranted as he waved his arms around.

 

"Well I'm sorry I have a thing for human women."The man muttered.

 

"Aeron?!"Giotto asked. Seemed like these two knew each other. "I didn't know you had a kid!"

 

"I keep forgetting I have one."

 

"You're all @$$holes!" Oh dear.

 

Giotto rubbed his head. "Alright alright. Why are you here?"Giotto asked.

 

"I'm here to alter Samael's cinematic record."Aeron said with a wave of the hand. "Though I cannot change the past...I can help him forget all of this incident with the ghost even ever happened."Aeron smiled.

 

"That's good."Giotto sighed. Aeron glanced over at Aya.

 

"Oi! Is that the new guard dog?"Aeron asked as he pointed at Aya. "She's so chibi and cute!"Aeron laughed.

 

"Yeah,but she has a demon butler with her!"Giotto smirked. "Oh that explains why it smells like rotten souls in here,and I ain't talking about the body parts."Aeron chuckled.

 

Giotto scratched his cheek and looked over at Aya. "I'm sorry that your first job had to be like this...you and Veran can head home if you want. I'll make sure to fix things up and keep the record clean. I'll send the report to the queen and your paycheck should arrive by morning."Giotto assured as he gave a bow. "How did the old queen's dog butler said it when we finished things up?"Giotto muttered,trying to remember.

 

"I think it was something like,'Yes,my lord'!"Aeron laughed.

 

"That's it!"Giotto laughed. Marco glanced over at Aya.

 

"Do you wish for us to accompine you and Veran back to your household?"Marco asked as the twins were rubbing up against Samael,who was snoring like an idiot.
