Sora96 17,256 Posted August 11, 2014 Hirokazu Hamamura—former Weekly Famitsu editor-in-chief, current president of Enterbrain, and director of Kadokawa Group Holdings, Kadokawa Group Publishing, Kadokawa Games, and Walker Books—teased a major PlayStation 4 announcement coming at the Tokyo Game Show said to help get the system on its feet in Japan. The tease came during YouTube Gamers’ Day, a seminar event held in Roppongi Hills’ YouTube Space Tokyo yesterday. Here’s the snippet from Famitsu’s report on the event: With game platforms being enormously popular in North America and Europe, PlayStation 4 is being supported with major content. In Japan, on the other hand, PlayStation 4′s uprush isn’t very good. Released in February instead of the year-end shopping season, the system sold 320,000 units at launch, which is by no means a bad number. However, even now total sales are at 640,000, which cannot be compared to the sales momentum from North America and Europe. Of course, as a characteristic of the Japanese market, mobile games are by far the leading trade, “but I heard from a major game maker that they’re going to have a big announcement around the time of the Tokyo Game Show that should help the system’s growth.” (Quoted from Hamamura). But it didn't even name the company, so maybe they didn't even mean Square and even if it was Square it might just be another HD remix or something. I hope it's FFXV!
