Josuke Higashikata 2,141 Posted October 4, 2014 “Yeah, he seems pretty cool indeed. He kinda looks like a character straight from a video game!” she said while laughing. Hmm... I wonder why. *Naive face* “Come on Fuu, let’s bail. You don’t need to shake the hand of this stupid puppet.” Seifer said as he glared at us Well, Fuu him too! *Laughs* He was bragging about how he was the best player in Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 He clearly uses Phoenix Wright. “Spira Girls” You really like FFX, don't you? Anyway, this was another good chapter. 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this
Keyblade101 526 Posted October 4, 2014 Haha, I KNEW that the coach was gonna be Terra! And Tidus coming up with Blitzball (the sport from his original game) was great. I wonder how everyone's gonna react when they find out how it's played. 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this

The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted October 10, 2014 Okay everyone, here is another chapter! Thank you all so much for your comments and for your support! I appreciate all the support you have all given me ever since I started writing this story, and I hope you continue to enjoy it! I’ve come a long way as a writer, with four stories and one short story written! And this makes my fifth story, so I feel accomplished as a writer for already having written so many stories! Haha, anyways, I’m babbling on here, enjoy the chapter everyone! This time this chapter will be from the eyes of Xion! Chapter Eleven: Spira Girls The next day at school, everyone was making a commotion. Apparently there was some big event happening today. Roxas had gone on ahead with Ven and Vanitas, so I was on my own for now. I wandered around the hallway and then saw a big crowd of students huddled up near the principal’s office. As the door opened, three people came out, all of them girls. One had long brunette hair and two pigtails, another one had wild blonde hair, and the last one to come out had cool, spiky gray hair. They looked like celebrities, so I figured that the commotion was about them. Naturally, I felt curious, so I went over to the crowd of students to see what was happening. I was right to guess that they were celebrities. Everyone was holding up posters that read: Spira Girls rock! The students closest to them were begging for autographs, and these Spira Girls were happily making autographs. As I tried to get a closer look at them, I was blocked off by the swarm of fans. God, I felt suffocated pressed up against so many students, so I squirmed my way out of the crowd. (Start Song Here) “Xion!!! Oh my God, did you see them!?” Tidus yelled at me from across the hallway as he came running straight towards me. For a moment, I almost flinched, because I thought he was going to run me over! But luckily, Tidus stopped just a few inches from plowing me. He then took a deep breath. “See who? You mean those three girls over there?” I asked, pointing towards them. At that, Tidus’ face turned grim, as if I had just uttered the worst possible insult to him. “They aren’t just any girls! They are the Spira Girls!!! They’re an up and coming rock band, and recently, the whole world has been keeping their eye on them, and now they’re famous! Oh God, and look at that Yuna!” he said, as he glanced over my shoulder to look at the brunette haired girl, which I assumed was Yuna. “Isn’t she the most beautiful drop of sunshine in this whole universe?” Tidus uttered dreamily. I couldn’t help but laugh, but seeing as how Tidus looked so sweet and excited, I didn’t want to ruin this moment for him. “Yeah, she sure is beautiful.” I replied while smiling. And it was true, Yuna was indeed beautiful. Tidus remained staring at Yuna, and he looked like a love struck puppy! He then turned around and looked at me with quite a goofy smile on his face. “I’m going to ask her for an autograph!” Tidus snickered, as he ran towards the crowd. I smiled and laughed. He was so determined to get close to Yuna, you had to admire the guy’s methods. Getting closer…huh. I wonder if Roxas and I could get closer…anyways, enough about that! During the day, everything went by okay. Nothing out of the ordinary happened, and well, the hallways were surprisingly empty. That was most probably because all of the students were following the Spira Girls around. I found it kind of overwhelming as I walked through the empty hallways. The school looked much bigger than it usually did. As the hours went by, I went to all my classes, and I eventually caught up to Roxas, and we talked for a while, and I told him about how Tidus was fanboying over Yuna, and we laughed together. Then, at lunch break, I sat with Roxas, who had brought his brothers Ven and Vanitas along. They all seemed to be quite cheerful. I felt really happy that Roxas was spending time with his brothers. It was such a warm scene. Then, Vanitas laid back and put his arms behind his head. “Okay…since you’re laying on your back like that, I’m guessing someone’s caught your eye, am I correct Vanitas?” Ven asked while rolling his eyes. At that, Vanitas smirked and nodded in confirmation. “You got that right. See that girl over there?” he said as he pointed towards the girl he was looking at. Ven, Roxas and I immediately looked over to the other table, and I recognized who it was. It was the spiky gray haired girl from the Spira Girls band. I think I knew where Vanitas was going with this. “That’s the girl from the Spira Girls band, right?” I asked to Vanitas, expecting to hear a yes on his part. “Yep. Word is her name’s Paine. That’s a real slick name there. And she looks like she’s my type. I’m gonna make my move on her later.” Vanitas mentioned with pride. As always, Vanitas had a knack for disgusting me with his womanizing ways. “So Xion, have you ever heard their music before?” Roxas asked me. “Nope, not at all, have you?” I asked. “Yeah, I started listening to their songs recently. They’re pretty cool! Here, I’ll put a song so you can listen to it!” Roxas said, as he brought out his IPad and started playing the song. It had quite an intense guitar rhythm and some nice bass and drums too. (End Song Here) “Running through the raging rain, taking on all of this pain.” “My tears drown the sorrow, is there hope for tomorrow?” “I breathe in hate and I breathe out shame, can I stop feeling this way?” “I refuse to let myself drown, I will fight for what I believe now.” “Until all turns to dust…until there’s nothing left for us…” “Wow, that sounds pretty awesome!” I said, and at that, Roxas nodded. “Yeah, they rock! They’re gonna perform a concert today after school at the gym!” Roxas said excitedly. “Oh yeah, that’s when I’ll make my move on Paine!” Vanitas declared with utmost confidence. “Ugh, Vanitas, you’re a lost cause.” Ven said as he shook his head. After lunch break, we each headed to our respective classrooms, and well, for some strange reason, I felt super excited for the after school concert. The Spira Girls really sounded like a badass band, and since Roxas was going to be in the concert, I figured, why can’t I go too? And so I decided to myself that I’d go to the concert! I’m sure it’s going to be a blast! And getting to watch Tidus and Vanitas try to swoon Yuna and Paine will be something to watch. I then looked out the window and noticed it was starting to get cloudy. I liked it when the clouds suddenly came like this, so unexpectedly. I found rainclouds to be soothing, I don’t know why though. Anyways, as the bell rang, I got out of the classroom, and on my way to the next classroom, I accidentally bumped into someone. “Oh, I’m so sorry!” I said, and when I turned around, I noticed that it was Yuna. She smiled and looked at me and shook her head. “Oh no, please, don’t worry about it. It’s okay.” she said politely. “Hey, you’re Yuna from the Spira Girls band, right?” I asked her. She nodded, though she looked a bit exhausted. “Yep, that’s me. Yuna Albarn. I’m just taking a breather from signing autographs. I mean, don’t get me wrong, it’s so fun and exciting to interact with the fans, but it can get so exhausting at times. Anyways, it’s nice to meet you! What’s your name?” she asked. “I’m Xion Fuyibayashi. It’s nice to meet you too!” I answered while smiling. It felt kind of nice. I was making another friend! “Hehe, I see. Well Xion, are you coming to the concert after school?” she asked. “Yes, definitely, I’ll be coming along with my friends.” I said while nodding. “Oh, well that’s great! Well, I have to run Xion, I’ll be seeing you!” she said as she walked away. As I went into the classroom and sat down, I thought about the brief conversation I had just had with Yuna. She seemed like such a nice person, just the person that Tidus would fall in love for. She looked so strong and confident and cheerful. I wish I could have energy like that. Yuna looked like the type of person that could do anything she put her mind to, and to me, that was something I admired about her, and I had only just met her! I immediately knew then and there that Yuna and I would end up becoming great friends. And I’m sure that the blonde girl and Paine would also be great friends. I smiled and now looked forward to the concert even more! I don’t think I’ve ever been excited for anything like this before! I counted down the minutes for school to end. I was actually getting a bit anxious! But, thankfully, I had my notebook with me, and for the rest of the class I kept taking notes and did a few doodles here and there. Then, the bell rang, and as soon as it did, I stormed out of the classroom and headed out to find Roxas, Ven and Vanitas. In just a matter of seconds, I found them. “Hey Xion, you ready for the concert?” Roxas asked while smiling. “Yep, I can’t wait!” I replied with a smile. “Well, I’m pretty sure this will be quite the entertaining experience. I’m sure it’ll put the school into an even cheerier mood than usual.” Ven said as we walked. “Oh, I’ll definitely be cheerier when I score a date with Paine!” Vanitas said, all confident and full of pride. You had to give him that at least. (Start Song Here) As we arrived to the gym, it was unbelievably packed. The other students were squirming their way through the line, while security was making sure that the students didn’t storm through the entrance. Everything was so lively and exciting. I could see the band’s van in the parking lot, with the Spira Girls logo plastered with spray paint all across the van. It looked pretty amazing. After a few minutes, we were finally able to head inside, but even so, there were so many people, and not enough seats! We all immediately tried looking for seats that would be close enough to the stage where the Spira Girls would be performing. That’s when Tidus came around and saw us and directed us to the perfect spot. Clearly he had been here in the gym before anyone else, so being able to sit in this spot was perfect. We were to the right of the stage, close enough to see them singing. Ah, it was all so exciting! Then the workers came and started putting up the stage decorations to start the concert. It was almost time. “Gah, I can’t wait for the concert to start already!” Tidus yelled as he squirmed with excitement. “Yeah, it’s gonna be great, no doubt about it!” Roxas said. I could tell he was also excited. Then, the spotlights flared and pointed towards three girls in the stage. It was them. It was the Spira Girls. It was as if the spotlight had shined down from the heavens, and the three girls looked triumphant and beautiful. Immediately, the gym went into an uproar, as the students started screaming and jumping of joy. The air was filled with excitement and full of energy, and as I looked towards Roxas, Ven, Vanitas and Tidus, I could tell this was going to be one awesomely good time. It was a memory I would keep of spending time with my friends, and I’d cherish it forever. I looked towards the stage, and the Spira Girls were already preparing to perform their first song. Oh god, I was so excited! I think I was about to scream too! After a few more minutes, Paine started tinkering with her guitar, delivering some pretty impressive guitar riffs. The blonde girl freestyled with her drums, and Yuna gently played the bass. “Oh God, this is it, this is it, they’re gonna start playing any minute now!” Tidus yelped, barely able to contain his excitement. “Wow, the whole crowd is in an uproar. This is impressive!” Ven remarked. “Well of course it’s impressive! My beautiful Paine is gonna blow their minds!” Vanitas said with a smirk. “This is so exciting Xion! This is the first concert I’ve ever been to!” Roxas said while smiling at me. I smiled back and nodded. “Hehe, yeah, it’s my first time too. I’m sure this concert’s gonna rock!” I said to him, feeling ever more excited. Then, the Spira Girls signaled the beginning of their concert. Yuna stepped forward and smiled. “Good afternoon everyone! I’m Yuna Albarn, lead vocalist and bassist of the Spira Girls, and this is Paine Itsuki, our guitarist, and Rikku Kiryu, our drummer. We’re happy to be here at Fukuoka Daichii High School, so let’s have some fun!” she said, and at that, the crowd went crazy. “Yes!!! Finally!!!” Tidus yelled with overwhelming excitement. Oh, you should have seen it, the concert was something to behold. It was like everything had changed and the gym had transformed into an entirely different place. The crowd’s faces all looked so happy and excited, and the Spira Girls were delivering one hell of a performance. Tidus was fanboying to the point of insanity, and Vanitas stared at Paine like if he was in some sort of trance. Well, considering Paine’s insane guitar skills, it made sense that anyone would fall into her spell. Rikku’s drumming was so in tune with the music that it felt empowering. Hearing the drums really gave energy to the songs the band played. And as for Yuna’s singing, it was spectacular, and she really knew how to play the bass. All of them were amazing. (End Song Here) “Woo! Go Yuna! I love you!!!” Tidus yelled as hard as he could. He was really determined to get her attention. You had to admire his persistence. “Xion, this concert’s amazing! Look at all these people, they’re practically living this!” Roxas said to me as he smiled. I nodded and looked all around me. The crowd was certainly living every moment of the concert, that was certain. “I have to admit, they are pretty good.” Ven said as he found himself moving his head in rhythm to the music. I found it funny how he praised the music. “They’re amazing.” I said, as I looked towards the stage. Then, suddenly, the lights dimmed a bit, and Yuna stood in front. She smiled and looked at everyone. “Okay everyone, this song is for you to dance with the person you love. Hold that special person tight, okay?” Yuna said with a voice as smooth as silk. At that, Roxas looked at me, and I immediately blushed. “Um…w-want to dance? I mean, it’s not like I’m in love with you or anything…but I’m uh, just curious about how dancing works. So, uh, wanna dance?” Roxas asked. My heartbeat suddenly escalated abnormally, and I immediately took his hand, as if on instinct. “I would love to dance with you.” I said to him as I smiled, and we held each other close as the music began. “I often wonder to myself, of whether I should cry for help…” “I sit here in the dark, feeling lost and alone.” “With no one’s help except my own...” “I wander in the dark, waiting for that chance to see.” “Just how wonderful can this world be?” “All I want is to be in your arms, to have a place inside your heart.” “All I want is to be in your eyes, to have a place inside of your life!” As the band continued to perform this beautiful song, everything seemed so different. For a moment, it seemed as if though everyone else had disappeared, and it was just me and Roxas together, dancing in harmony with the music. I felt so safe in his arms, and he held me so firmly and so confidently…I felt my heartbeat increase every second I kept dancing with him. My body felt so hot, and my cheeks were boiling red…I could tell because they were burning! Roxas then met his eyes with my eyes, and we stayed looking into each other’s eyes. It was as if time itself had stopped, and now all that mattered was us being together. Oh God, I don’t even know why I was feeling this way, but all I knew was that I felt so happy! All I wanted was to stay in Roxas’ arms forever. I felt so happy being with him, as if all my fears and sorrows were being drowned away. I didn’t want this moment to end…I just wanted to allow my heart to open up, to feel what love is like…and I knew that Roxas could help me experience what love is…I just knew it. “Um…Roxas?” I gently whispered, almost to the point of silence. I suddenly felt so shy and so warm. Roxas looked into my eyes and smiled. “Yes, what is it Xion?” he replied. I felt speechless for a moment. I could feel his warmth on mine, and for a moment, I felt as if our heads were slowly leaning into each other. “Roxas…I just…” I started to say, but Roxas put his finger on my lips and shook his head. He smiled and looked at me with what could only be described as a passionate stare. “I think I know where you’re going with this.” he said softly, as he held me closer. It felt so good to have him hold me like this…I wanted him to hold me like this forever… “Do you…” I started to say, but I was suddenly cut short by the screams of the crowd, and that snapped me and Roxas back into reality. Before we even realized what was happening, security was making everyone leave the gym. The ceiling sprinklers were raining down water on us. “What’s happening!?” I shouted out, feeling confused. One of the security guards ran towards me and Roxas and urged us to follow him. “Can’t you kids see? There was an explosion near the stage where the band was performing! They were already taken outside! All of you have to get out as well!” the security guard explained, and at that, Roxas and I looked at each other with great unease and ran outside to look for our friends. As we went outside, all we could see was the panicking frenzy of the students, as they kept running out of the gym. This was so unexpected. Was someone trying to kill the Spira Girls? What the hell happened? It was all just happening way too fast, and I was so confused! Roxas was just as clueless. But we couldn’t think about why this happened, we had to look for our friends and Roxas’ brothers. We searched through the panicked faces of the crowd, and we kept looking, until we spotted Tidus in the distance. We tried getting to him, but everyone was so scared over what happened that they were all clustered, which made it difficult to move with so many of them in the way. Security was trying their best to contain the situation, but even they were a bit overwhelmed. Roxas and I continued to make our way through the crowd, and eventually, we were able to make our way to Tidus. Then, a few seconds later, we saw Ven and Vanitas run towards us. We all looked at each other for a moment and felt a sense of unease. “Everybody okay?” Vanitas asked with a serious face. We all nodded in unison. “Yeah, we’re all good. Tidus, did you see what happen?” Roxas asked. He nodded sadly. “Yes, I saw what happened, although not all of it. I remember cheering for Yuna as she was singing, and then all of a sudden, at the corner of my eye, I saw a spark of fire, and before I knew it, the explosion occurred, and everyone went into a panic! Thank God Yuna and the others were able to get out with the help of the security guards!” Tidus explained as he sighed of relief. “Come on guys, we have to get out of here.” Ven urged us, and so we went out of school and went to our homes. (Start Song Here) I went straight to my room when I got home, and I didn’t even check on my father. My mind was too occupied thinking about what had happened. Roxas and I were so close…we were about to kiss! But I guess the kiss wasn’t meant to happen. Anyways, it’s not like that matters or anything, I mean, I’m just curious, that’s all. Anyways, I took a quick shower and then I laid on my bed and looked at the ceiling. I was thinking about Yuna. I hope that she, Rikku and Paine were doing okay. I bet they must have been scared, what with all the commotion and whatnot. I wondered if I would ever see her again. All I knew is that whatever was the case, I hoped that she and her friends would be okay. I then found myself thinking about Roxas again. For some reason, I just couldn’t stop thinking about him! He looked so perfect, looking at me with his serene eyes…and holding me so close to him. I literally felt like I would melt in his arms! I felt so safe and secure as he held me, and I felt like I was being swept off my feet! Suddenly, my heart started to beat rapidly, and then I found myself blushing. Roxas…what are you doing to me? Why do I feel this way? Why do I feel so happy but at the same time…so afraid? Oh God, I wish I knew what was happening to me. Is this what people call love? If so, it’s such a strange thing to feel. I mean, I’ve never been in love before, so I don’t even know how to react to this situation! All I know is that whenever I keep thinking of Roxas, my heart pounds faster… “Hold yourself together Xion, snap out of this!” I said to myself as I tried to think hard about something else. “Come on, it’s not that hard to stop thinking about him, come on, think of something else!” I kept saying to myself, now feeling a bit frustrated. Still nothing. “Ah, why can’t I stop thinking about Roxas!?” I shouted out, and then I put a pillow over my head and screamed. Ugh, why was I feeling this way!? “God, I’ll just try to get some sleep.” I said to myself as I closed my eyes and tried to get myself to sleep. As I tried getting some sleep, I somehow felt more peaceful. Even though a lot had happened today, I felt calm and relaxed. Knowing that Yuna, Rikku and Paine were safe made me feel that much more relaxed, and none of the students had been caught in the explosion. That put my mind at ease, and I found myself slowly falling to sleep. Then, I could have sworn that I saw Roxas right in front of me! I mean literally in front of me! I knew this was just an image of my mind, and I had to snap out of it! But no matter how hard I tried, he remained there, and he stared at me and smiled. His wonderful smile. Oh God, I could feel his eyes piercing into mine! Then I shook my head and finally snapped out of it. It was about time! I eventually opened my eyes and sat on my bed and looked out the window. I sighed and looked at the moon. It was so beautiful tonight. It was a full moon. I kept staring at the moon, and then, as if by instinct, I opened the drawer nearby me and I took the seashell Roxas had given me, and I put it to my ear, and just like that, I fell asleep. (End Song Here) --------------------------------------------------- “Xion, are you okay? You look spaced out.” “Roxas…” “Did I do something wrong?” “Okay, it’s time for your first track practice!” Be prepared for Chapter Twelve: “Of Thoughts And Feelings.” Okay everyone, that was the chapter! Sorry that I took a slightly bit longer time to post this chapter, but since now I’m back to working at the barbershop, I haven’t had the time to write, but I hope you enjoyed this chapter! Let me all know what you thought of it! Until next time, stay tuned for the next chapter! 6 Josuke Higashikata, Keyblade101, Iris and 3 others reacted to this

The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted October 15, 2014 Hey there everyone, here’s another chapter! I hope that you all find it to your enjoyment! Wow, can you believe that we’re almost halfway through October? Time flies fast. O.O As always, thank you for your support everyone, and I hope you enjoy this chapter! It will be from Roxas’ point of view this time. Without further ado, read on, my dear followers! Chapter Twelve: Of Thoughts And Feelings The next day, Xion didn’t take the bus. It was odd. Xion wasn’t the type of girl to skip school. Well, with what had happened last night, I couldn’t blame her if she didn’t want to come. Still, it felt a bit odd to me that she hadn’t come on the bus. Maybe she was walking to school this time. Or maybe she’d already taken another bus before this one? I don’t know. All I knew is that I was worried about her. Ven and Vanitas were sitting in the seat in front of me, so luckily, I was able to think to myself without having them peeking at me. I looked out the window, and as I saw the cars going up and down the road and towards the far side of the city, I found myself thinking about Xion. She looked really beautiful last night…and well, that moment when we held each other…just felt so right! I wanted to kiss her…I really wanted to, and I could feel that she wanted to kiss me as well. But the stupid explosion interrupted the moment. Anyways, enough about that. I had to focus on something else. I had to find some way to get my mind off of Xion, at least for the moment. (Start Song Here) “Well, well, well Ven, will you look at our sweet brother? He seems to be so dreadfully worried about Xion! Ha, he can’t stay still without her around.” Vanitas teased with a smirk. I simply glared at him. Ven put his hand on Vanitas’ shoulder. “Vanitas, seriously, can you stop being so immature? Although, you do seem to be quite uneasy without Xion around.” Ven said, a smirk forming on his face as well. I couldn’t believe this! Out of all the people, I didn’t expect Ven to tease me too! “Ha, well I’ll be damned, Ventus, you’ve finally decided to help me tease our brother for once!” Vanitas said, just as surprised as I was. “I have to agree with you Vanitas, Roxas can’t seem to be himself without Xion to keep him company.” Ven said with a laugh. At that, Vanitas cracked up. “Will you two stop it!? There’s nothing going on between me and Xion! We’re just friends!” I explained. “Oh, then you won’t mind if I make a move on her?” Vanitas asked with a cruel tone. At that, I snapped. “Wait, didn’t you have your eye on Paine!? What’s with you Vanitas!?” I exclaimed angrily. At that, Ven and Vanitas exchanged looks, and they started laughing. “Ha, I knew it. You are in love with her! Don’t worry bro, I’m just messing with you. Sure, Xion’s cute and all but she’s not my type. Paine’s the one for me. But your sudden outburst proved my point.” Vanitas said with a satisfied grin. He then turned to face forward to his seat to take a nap. “Roxas, there’s no shame in admitting that you like her. After all, it’s completely normal for you to feel that way. If I was in your shoes, I’d probably feel the same way too.” Ven said to me with a kind smile. I looked at him and crossed my arms. “Well…it’s just that Xion’s such an amazing girl! Ever since I’ve met her, there’s just something about her that’s been driving me nuts! Every time I’m with her, I feel so happy and well, I don’t know how to explain what I feel! I know it sounds corny and mushy, but the truth of the matter is, that’s how I feel. And well, lately, I’ve been having more thoughts of her…and well, last night, we were about to kiss…and well…I think that maybe she’s in love with me too. I wanted to talk to her about that today. But it looks like she’s not coming to school today. It’s too bad. I really wanted to talk to her about what happened last night. Or, well, about what didn’t happen.” I said with a sigh. Since Ven and Vanitas were already on to me, there was no use trying to hide anything from them now. But I wouldn’t tell them about my dreams. “Maybe she needs time to think about things. Maybe that’s why she isn’t coming to school today.” Ven said. Maybe he was right. “You may be on to something. Well, anyway, thanks for listening Ven.” I said appreciatively. “Anytime bro. You know that Vanitas and I will always be here for you. We have your back.” He said with a smile. At that, Ven went back to his seat, and I looked out the window again. Xion… (End Song Here) The moment we arrived to school, I stormed out of the bus, and I went to look for Xion as quickly as possible. I searched the hallway, the library, the school courtyard, I think I scoured the entire school searching for her! But sadly, she was nowhere to be found. There was still a few minutes left for the bell to ring, so I decided to do another thorough search around the school grounds, but still nothing. I was feeling restless now. Shortly after, the bell rang, and I had no choice but to go to class. I’d continue searching for Xion during lunch break. And so, I went to class. Everything was just fine during the morning, and nothing happened. I had expected some news regarding yesterday’s events, but strangely, the whole school was quiet about it, like if it had never happened. Before I knew it, it was already lunchtime. “Xion…where are you?” I asked to myself. I was starting to feel a little guilty for having tried kissing her. Maybe I just confused her…that’s when all of a sudden I bumped into someone. “Oh, I’m sorry!” I said, as I looked at the person I had bumped into. He had brown spiky hair that seemed to defy gravity, and he looked like he had just finished running a hundred laps at the gym. Considering he had gym clothes on, that was most likely the case. The guy smiled and shook his head. “It’s okay, no worries! Say, you look like you have something on your mind. Is something wrong?” he said. I was taken a little aback by this. I had just met this guy, and he was already talking to me like if he had known me all his life. But, I felt compelled to answer him. “Actually, yeah. The thing is, I’m searching for a friend of mine. She’s about this tall, she has blue eyes and black hair that reaches just a little below her shoulders. Oh, and she’s kind of shy too.” I explained, hoping this guy had seen Xion. “Oh yeah, I know who you’re talking about! I saw her come by the gym about five minutes ago. I overheard she’s going to be competing in the national track competition, so I’m guessing she’s practicing.” he said. “Ah, that’s right! Thanks…um…” I started to say. “Sora. The name’s Sora Yamaguchi! It’s nice to meet you!” he said cheerfully. “Okay, thanks Sora! I’m Roxas Harada. It’s nice to meet you too!” I replied, and then I quickly ran towards the gym. “Okay, time for your first track practice!” I heard the coach say. Sora was right. Xion had to be here! As I entered the gym, I saw that Xion was already in her practice session, along with four more girls. Since I didn’t want to interrupt, I sat down on the bleachers and watched her run. I don’t think that she had noticed that I had come in. It was better this way. But still, I couldn’t help but notice that Xion looked depressed. I mean, don’t get me wrong, she was running spectacularly well, but even though she was practicing just fine, her mind seemed to be somewhere else. Was it because of me? Was she thinking about what happened last night? Was she trying to think of something to say to me? God, I felt so anxious. Looking at her spaced out face made me get a bit nervous. I really hope she wasn’t like this because of me. Anyways, I just kept watching Xion run, and then the coach instructed her and the other girls to do some pushups and some squats, and then he told them to run ten laps. Xion did as she was told, and she did everything splendidly well! Then the coach dismissed the class, and the girls went to the showers. The coach left, and I remained in the bleachers, waiting for Xion. “Xion…” I said to myself. I didn’t know what was going to happen now. After a few minutes, Xion came out of the shower with her school uniform on, and then I waved at her. She made a half smile and walked towards me. “Hey Roxas…” Xion said, looking at me shyly. “Hey Xion. How are you? I was worried about you! I thought you weren’t coming to school today!” I said, and at that, Xion seemed to flinch. “I’m sorry…I couldn’t take the bus today…” she said softly. “Well, anyways, you’re here. Come on, let’s take a walk before the bell rings.” I said with a smile. At that, she nodded silently. As we walked, I could feel that Xion wasn’t being herself today. I really wanted to ask her why she was being like this, but at the same time, I didn’t want to rush her. If she was going to say something to me, she’d say it. But still, that really didn’t help make things any better. I still felt nervous, anxious, well, practically, I was falling apart. It’s a good thing I came up with a few topics to talk about so that there’d be no awkward silence. She smiled at me from time to time whenever I tried making a joke, but most of the time she was just looking forward or up at the sky. I just wanted to pull her close to me and kiss her. I wanted to kiss her lips so badly. I felt so tempted to do so, but I knew that I couldn’t just do that right out of the blue. I had to understand Xion’s feelings first and foremost. I couldn’t just kiss her out of nowhere. She already looked too confused. After a few minutes, we sat on a bench in the courtyard, and Xion took out some cookies and gave me some, and we kept talking. A few minutes later, we started walking again. As we approached the hallway, Xion came to a stop. (Start Song Here) “Roxas…” she said to me. At that, I turned around and tried to keep smiling. “What is it Xion?” I asked, trying to seem as normal as possible. “Nothing…” she answered grimly. I then held her arm and made her look into my eyes. “Xion, are you okay? You look spaced out…” I said to her, hoping that now she’d decide to tell me what was bothering her. She then looked at me with those gorgeous blue eyes, and she held my gaze. “Roxas…about last night…I don’t think that…it’s just, I don’t know what I’m feeling.” she said, struggling to speak. I felt my heart pound a few beats faster. “Xion…look, I’m sorry if I did something wrong last night…but I thought that you wanted to kiss me…so..um…” I said, trying to sound mature. God, I must have sounded like a moron. “Roxas…I don’t know what’s going on. Yes, I did want to kiss you…but I’m afraid…” she said. She started to tremble slightly. “Afraid? Of what?” I asked. What could she possibly be afraid of? “I just can’t…I’m sorry Roxas…” she said, as she turned around and ran away. “Wait, Xion!” I shouted. I wanted to go after her, but something told me that I shouldn’t. I had to let her go. She was sorting her feelings out…but…I wish she’d be honest with me about her feelings. I didn’t see Xion again for the rest of the day. My body felt heavy, and I was depressed. God, why is it that teenagers have to go through these kinds of things? As I got on the bus, I quietly sat on my seat. Xion never came to take the bus. Ven and Vanitas didn’t utter a word to me. They must have noticed that I looked depressed, so they just left me alone. That’s the good thing about my brothers. They always know when to let me be. I’m glad they respect me in that regard. I needed to think. I had to try to think positive. Tomorrow, Xion would be back to normal and we’d be laughing and hanging out normally like always. I wanted to have the smiling Xion back. As the bus stopped, we got off and went to our apartment. I sat on the couch and sighed. I thought about Xion, and I wondered how she was doing. After what happened today at school, I guess she didn’t want to see me for a while. I felt depressed. Maybe I shouldn’t have tried to kiss her. If only I hadn’t done that, things wouldn’t be so awkward between us now. I glanced over my shoulder and saw Ven in the kitchen whipping up dinner. Vanitas was nowhere to be seen. He must’ve already gone upstairs. I felt like telling Ven what happened, but at the same time I didn’t want to worry him. But I really needed someone to listen to me right now. Just then, Claire came through the door and she quickly noticed my depressed face. I couldn’t hide my emotions around her. Knowing that she was probably going to ask me what was wrong, I decided to go to her instead. “Um, hey Claire…do you think we can talk for a moment?” I asked quietly, to make sure that Ven and Vanitas wouldn’t hear me. At that, she nodded. “Sure thing. Come on, let’s go out to the porch.” she said, as we went outside. She then leaned her back against the wall and looked at me. I looked at the sky and then directed my gaze to Claire. “So, what’s on your mind kid?” Claire asked. “Well, you see…I’m having trouble with this friend of mine in school named Xion. The thing is, there was a concert, and well, Xion and I suddenly clicked. I could feel that she wanted me to kiss her, and I know she wanted to kiss me. But, certain…complications arose, and I feel like we suddenly drifted apart. I know she must be confused and all, but I’m afraid that because of what happened…we may drift apart. What do I do?” I asked, pouring my heart out. “If you want my honest opinion, this is what I’ll say. Love is a complicated thing, and oftentimes it takes a while for people to figure it out. Sometimes people go their whole lives without knowing what love is. I know that what you’re going through must be difficult, but remember, this is a new experience for you. You’ve never had to deal with difficult feelings and complications with a girl before, so it’s understandable that you’re feeling this way. As for myself, I haven’t had that much luck with love during my life. But I’ve been able to go through enough to know about what love is, at least in my opinion. Anyways, just hang in there, and I’m sure the answer will come to you. But you’re going to have to give this girl some time to sort things out for herself. Judging from what you told me, she must be new to this whole relationship thing too. I’m sure that she’ll come to you Roxas. You just have to be patient and understand her feelings.” she explained. I listened to every single word Claire said, and she had a good point. (End Song Here) “Yeah, you’re right. I just wish that she could understand my feelings too…” I said, looking down at the floor. At that, Claire stroked my hair and smiled. “Don’t worry. You’re a good kid. As I said, be patient, and things will become clearer, okay?” Claire asked of me. I nodded and smiled. Suddenly, Ven appeared from the living room. “Hey guys, dinner’s ready, come on in!” Ven shouted. “We’ll be right there!” I replied, and with that, I turned around to face Claire and smiled. “Hey, Claire?” I said. “What is it kid?” she asked. “Thanks. I’m so glad I can always tell you about my problems. I appreciate your advice.” I said with a smile. “Anytime kiddo. Now come on, let’s go eat, I’m starving!” she said, as she walked into the dining room and I followed after her. The rest of the evening went pretty well. We all had fun at dinner, and luckily, I was able to keep my mind off of Xion long enough to make sure that Ven and Vanitas wouldn’t notice, and well, dinner was great! Roxas tried making American Hamburgers! You know, for his first time cooking American food, I have to give him credit, he really outdid himself. Vanitas had four more hamburgers, and Claire ate five. Ven and I ate four hamburgers each, until only one hamburger remained. At that, we all glared at each other as if that hamburger was the last scrap of food left in the world! Claire decided to stay out of this, so now it was just me, Ven and Vanitas. We bickered and fought and clawed for that single hamburger, and let me just say that it was one brutal ordeal. I don’t know if we fought over the hamburger for minutes or hours! Then, I found myself an opening, and I seized the hamburger with my hands, and just as I was about to take a bite out of it, Vanitas swooped in and took it away from me and ate it joyfully! At that, Ven and I glared at Vanitas. “Oh come on, you two can live without hamburgers. I wanted the final one, so it’s not my fault you two weren’t fast enough!” Vanitas bragged, and then, all of a sudden, his stomach started growling. “Huh? What? Ow, my stomach!” Vanitas exclaimed. At that, Ven and I looked at each other and started laughing. Vanitas then glared at us. “What’s happening to me!?” Vanitas demanded. “Well my dear brother, since you ate so many hamburgers, I believe they are doing their effect. You might want to get some extra toilet paper.” Ven said with a smirk. “Ouch, good luck with that bro!” I said, but Vanitas didn’t have time to talk back. “Gah, I’ll get you two for this!” he said, as he quickly ran up the stairs to the bathroom. “Ha, he’s the one who took the hamburger! And Ven, thanks for the hamburgers, they were really good!” I said, bowing appreciatively to him. “Hehe, no problem! Now come on, help me wash the dishes.” Ven said with a smile. At that, Claire and I helped Ven do the dishes, and we also dried them and put them in stacks, then placing them to the left of the dishwasher. After having finished cleaning up, we all went to the living room and turned on the PS3. Ven went on Netflix to put on a movie for us, and in all that time, Vanitas still hadn’t come out of the bathroom! I couldn’t help but laugh at his predicament, but I felt sorry for him at the same time. Then, as I kept watching the movie, I found my thoughts drifting towards Xion again. I wondered how she was doing. I wish I could be talking to her right now. If I want to be able to make sure that things between me and Xion don’t go sour, I have to do what Claire said. I have to be patient, no matter what, and things will become much more clearer, I’m sure of it! But even though I kept telling myself that I should wait, a part of me just wanted to go to Xion’s house to talk things over with her right now. I know, I know, I’m probably rushing things too much. But I just couldn’t help but feel that going to her house was the appropriate thing to do. But then I quickly dismissed the thought and tried to concentrate my focus on the movie. But sadly, to no avail. Every time I tried to keep my mind off of Xion, I just couldn’t do it. No matter how much I tried to ignore my emotions, I just couldn’t hide them. I felt like screaming from the top of my lungs. I wanted to let all this frustration out. I just wanted to flail at everything and let out all of my emotions. I just couldn’t take this! I need to see Xion right now, in front of me! That’s when Ven noticed me. “Hey Roxas, are you doing okay?” Ven asked, and Claire looked at me as well. “Yeah, I’m fine, just a little bit sleepy. I’m gonna turn in early for the night. Good night guys.” I said as I waved goodbye and then went upstairs. I was going to check on the bathroom, but since Vanitas was probably still in there, I thought it was best to leave him be. “Good night Vanitas!” I said as I knocked on the door. Vanitas breathed in and out hard. “Nngh…good night bro! By the way…nngh, I suggest you don’t come in this bathroom for quite a while.” he said while struggling. “Okay…I’ll keep that in mind!” I said, trying to hold my laugh. I then went to my room and yawned and laid on my bed. I sighed and looked at the ceiling. “I really hope things turn out well tomorrow…I really hope Xion talks to me…” I said to myself as I clung to my pillow. “Be patient.,.” I kept repeating to myself. Maybe if I repeated Claire’s words enough times in my head, I’d be able to calm down, at least for a bit. The truth of the matter is, nothing helped. No matter what I tried, no matter how many times I tried to close my eyes, I just couldn’t bring myself to sleep. I was too anxious, too worried. I was such a mess. I sat up on my bed and sighed, rubbing my head and trying to see if I would get sleepier. I then looked out the window. It was cloudy tonight, so the moon didn’t shine through. A cool breeze came through the window, and I let the wind blow through my hair and my face. It felt so refreshing. I then walked over to the window and looked outside for a while. I wondered if Xion was looking out her window too. Oh Xion…if only I could be able to know what you were thinking. I just wish things would go back to the way they were. Well, there wasn’t any use in simply standing at my window, so I just went back to my bed and laid down. Hopefully, this time, I’d be able to sleep. This time, I was able to close my eyes, and my body went numb. Finally, sleep was enveloping my body! I needed to sleep…I needed to sleep so I could see Xion tomorrow… ----------------------------------------------------------- “Xion, we need to talk…” “…Roxas, it isn’t that easy.” “Is there any way I can help?” “Riku?” Stay tuned for Chapter Thirteen: “Unexpected Help.” Okay everyone, I hope that you all enjoyed the chapter! Keyblade101 526 Posted October 15, 2014 (edited) I love Ventus and Vanitas! They're hilarious! And it's about time we saw Sora. I love Claire's advice for Roxas. And the songs once again fit perfectly, I'm starting to feel like this is a Kingdom Hearts version of Clannad which would be awesome if it is. Keep going. The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted October 20, 2014 (edited) Good evening everyone! I hope you’ve all been doing okay! So then, here’s a new chapter to satisfy your desire to read! This chapter will be from Xion’s point of view, and well, I’m hoping you all enjoy the ride! Without further ado, read on everybody, and enjoy the chapter! Chapter Thirteen: Unexpected Help All I could feel the next day was an unbearable sense of guilt. Actually, I had been feeling guilty since yesterday, when I just ran off from Roxas…I know he must have felt hurt…but I was just so confused. I didn’t know what to think, and I didn’t want to say anything that would hurt Roxas…but by running off like that, I believe I hurt him more than any words I could have uttered at that moment. So now I was at a loss as to what to do. I wanted to talk to Roxas, but at the same time, I wanted to clear my head. It was useless trying to ask my father. Believe me, I tried. But as always, he was too busy working on his experiments in his lab. So I had the painful task of sorting this out for myself. I knew that I’d have to face Roxas today sooner or later, so all I could do was be prepared for that confrontation. I sighed and ran my fingers through my hair, and then I walked down the hallway, and then I sat near the entrance to home room. I looked at the students passing by here and there, and then I looked at my hands. Then, all of a sudden, I saw a pencil drop right by my feet. (Start Song Here) “Huh? What’s this?” I asked myself as I held the pencil and examined it. It was a drawing pencil. And it was a little worn out. Then I saw someone approaching from my right. It was a student. A blonde girl. “Oh, I’m so sorry, I dropped my pencil!” the blonde girl said. I then stood up and gave the pencil to her. “So, judging from the pencil, you must be an artist, huh?” I asked her. I also happened to notice she had a sketchbook clutched to her chest, so that was another obvious observation that made me ask the question. The girl nodded. “Yes, as a matter of fact, I am! Although…I’m not that good.” the girl said shyly. She then took the pencil and put it in her backpack. I looked at her for a few seconds and then I smiled at her. “Hey, can I see your drawings for a moment?” I asked her. “Oh? Um, okay, sure…” the girl said shyly, handing me her sketchbook as if she was giving me a sacred object. As I flipped through the pages, I was immediately impressed. She may think that she doesn’t draw all that well, but the truth is, she’s amazing! She used watercolors and also played around with colored pencils, and she had shading techniques too! One of the drawings she made was of a hooded man walking through a city in the dead of night with rain falling. It was a very detailed drawing, and it seemed as if at any moment the drawing would play out like a video before me! Another of her drawings was that of a beautiful meadow that was endless as far as the eye could see. There were very sparse trees here and there, and there was a yellow dog holding a letter in his mouth. I recognized the dog! It was Pluto, Mickey’s dog! I kept flipping through the pages and then I handed her sketchbook back to her. “Wow, I have to say, you have a gift! Not anyone can draw like that!” I said to her. The blonde girl smiled at me and blushed a little. “Do you really think so?” she asked. “I know so.” I answered while smiling at her. Suddenly, the bell rang, so it was time to head to class. “Well, anyways, I’m off to class. My name’s Xion Fuyibayashi. What’s yours?” I asked after introducing myself. The girl bowed and smiled and clutched her sketchbook tightly to her chest. “I’m Namine Megumi.” she answered shyly. “Okay Namine, it was nice meeting you! I’ll see you around!” I said as I waved goodbye. “Yeah, it was nice meeting you too!” Namine said as she waved back at me. Then, I went into home room. (End Song Here) And so, the day went by slowly. I’m not even joking, the day went by so ridiculously slow, it was unfair. I felt the anxiety seep into me again. The fact that I had to face Roxas sooner or later gnawed at me. I didn’t want to avoid him, because all I’d do is hurt his feelings even more. All I wanted was for things to go back to normal. I just couldn’t bear to have things staying as they were. I sighed and looked out the window most times during my classes, wondering how I’d manage things with Roxas. And so, lunch break eventually came. I didn’t feel hungry, so I didn’t go to the lunchroom. Instead, I went to the courtyard and sat down in one of the benches. I hadn’t seen Roxas around yet. I wonder if he hadn’t come to school today. Then, all of a sudden, Tidus came up to me with his usual goofy grin. “Well hello there Xion! I see that you are by your lonesome. Mind if I sit with you?” he asked, putting his hands on his hips. I smiled and nodded. “Not at all.” I said as I moved over to the side so Tidus could sit beside me. “So, have you seen Roxas around today?” Tidus asked while taking out a bag of chips. “No, as a matter of fact, I haven’t seen him today yet. Do you think he stayed at home?” I asked Tidus, who was offering me chips. I politely declined. “I’m not sure…” was Tidus’ only response. He then kept going away at his bag of chips, and he seemed to look as if he was expecting something. “Mind if I ask what’s on your mind?” I asked him. At that, Tidus swallowed the chips he was currently eating and then he cleared his throat and gave me that goofy smile of his again. “Well, if you must know, I am pondering about team names, should coach Terra decide to go for my Blitzball idea!” he proclaimed, almost certain that his idea would be accepted. “Oh, I see. Good luck with that! Anyways, I have to go now, I’ll see you around Tidus!” I said as I bowed politely and then ran off before Tidus could say goodbye. So…Tidus hadn’t seen Roxas today either. That was troubling. Maybe Roxas hadn’t come to school today after all. Determined to find him, I searched the entire school for him. I checked the gym, but he was nowhere to be found. I double checked the lunchroom, and I went through the different classrooms, hoping that I’d find him. But sadly, I didn’t see him anywhere. The rest of lunch break went by so slow, and for a moment, I thought maybe the bell for class had rung but I hadn’t heard it. But since all the students were still out of their classrooms, that’s how I knew that we were still in lunch break. Deciding to give one more try, I gave another sweep of the entire school to find Roxas, but once again, to no results. I then went to the hallway and sat on the floor and sighed. I looked at the clock across the hallway. There were still thirty minutes left for class to begin again. What would I do for all that time? I decided to check my notebooks to see if I had anything to study for, but there wasn’t anything of importance to study for right now. (Start Song Here) I then found myself thinking about the night of the concert. I thought about how close Roxas and I were as we danced. It all felt so surreal and so impossible. My heart started to pound as Roxas flooded my thoughts. I wanted to kiss him…and he wanted to kiss me…it was as simple as that. I found myself blushing despite trying to think about something else. And yet, that explosion interrupted everything, and since then, things have been so awkward between us. But I’m to blame for that. I shouldn’t have ran off from Roxas yesterday. If only I had just stood firm in front of him, I wouldn’t be feeling like this right now. And believe me, I felt horrible. And the fact that I seemingly couldn’t find Roxas anywhere in school just made me feel worse. I wish that I could’ve stumbled across Ven and Vanitas. I’m sure they would’ve been able to help me, but I hadn’t seen them around, so there was no point looking for them now. Suddenly, I was snapped back to reality by the sound of footsteps. I then looked to my right and saw that boy I had met before. Riku, was it? Yeah, that was him. “Hey. Long time no see.” Riku said as he waved at me. I made a half smile and waved back. “Riku? Oh hey, how are you?” I asked, trying to sound upbeat. “I’m doing okay…but you don’t seem to be doing okay yourself. Is something wrong? Is there any way I can help?” he asked me. At first, I didn’t want to answer him, but somehow, I felt like he could help me, so I decided to tell him what was wrong. “Well, to make the long story short, I’m trying to sort things out with a friend of mine…you see, there was this concert, and I danced with him, and we almost kissed…and well, things got a little complicated. I ran off from him yesterday before he could even say anything to me. I don’t know what to do…” I said bluntly. I looked at Riku, and he looked deep in thought. “Hmm, well then let me ask you something Xion. Do you love this boy?” he asked me. At that, I immediately blushed. “W-what? Um, uh, I guess…um, you see…it’s just…it’s not that easy…” I started to say, but then I trailed off, and at that Riku chuckled. He smiled at me and shook his head. “Well then, you see Xion, the thing is that you’re experiencing your first love. Judging from the look on your face, this must be your first time feeling this way. Let’s see, what can I tell you? Love is something that takes time to develop. It’s not something that can be made right away. Love takes time to adjust, and from what I can tell, you’re adjusting to your newfound feelings for him. That’s why you ran away from him. You ran away because you froze and because you didn’t know what you could possibly say to him. You ran away because you felt confused and you didn’t know what you were going to do next. All you have to do now is face this boy and tell him how you feel. I’m sure he has some words he’d like to say to you too.” he said to me. I deeply thought about Riku’s words, and then I stood up. “You know what? You’re right Riku. Thank you so much!” I said while looking at him. “Anytime.” Riku replied. Then, along came a boy with spiky brown hair and he stood right by Riku. “Hey there Riku, what are you doing here?” the boy said. “Oh hey Sora, I was just looking for you! College wasn’t open today, so I decided to swing by here for the day. Are you doing anything right now?” Riku asked while shaking Sora’s hand. “Nope, I’m actually free for the rest of the day! Wanna go down to the comic book store?” Sora asked excitedly. At that, Riku rolled his eyes. “Sure thing bud. Well Xion, I’ll be seeing you. By the way, this goofball here is Sora. And Sora, this is Xion, a friend of mine.” Riku said as he waved. “Oh yeah, your that girl this dude asked me about yesterday! Nice to meet you Xion!” Sora said while grinning. “Nice to meet you too! Well then, I’ll be seeing you!” I said as I waved goodbye to them. (End Song Here) So apparently, Roxas had asked Sora about me yesterday. Anyways, thanks to Riku’s helpful advice, I felt much better now, and my head felt clearer. I knew what I had to do now. I needed to face Roxas and tell him about my feelings for him. I couldn’t back down now. I needed to apologize for yesterday, and I had to fix this once and for all. I just had to! Before I knew it, the bell had already rung, and so, for the rest of the day, I carefully planned out my words, so that when the time came, I would be able to talk to Roxas without wavering. Obviously, I wrote down notes of my classes, because I had to keep up with class too, but my main goal today was centered towards Roxas. After a while, I started doodling in my notebook, and I felt much more relaxed. Then, the bell rang, signaling the end of the school day. As the students got out of their respective classrooms, I slowly walked towards the bus stop. I was hoping that Roxas would be there, because I needed to get things off of my chest already. As I arrived to the bus stop, I noticed that the bus had already left. But that was okay. I wasn’t going to take it today. And then, that’s when I saw him. Roxas was just a few feet away from me, looking at me silently. His eyes were sad, and he had an overall sad expression on his face. My heart pounded and I looked away for a moment. I clenched my fist to my chest and felt my heartbeat rapidly increase. I then took a deep breath and looked at Roxas again. He was still standing a few feet away from me, almost as if he was thinking of getting near me or not. Before anything could happen, I decided that I would be the one to take the first step. I stood up and slowly walked towards him. I then stopped when I was just about three feet away from him, and then his gaze met mine. (Start Song Here) “Xion…we need to talk.” he said to me. “Yes, yes we do.” I nodded, agreeing with him. “Xion…I’m really sorry if things between us got sour. If I did anything to make you feel uncomfortable, I’m truly sorry. I just…don’t know.” Roxas said, rubbing his head and blushing. “N-no, it’s okay, please don’t beat yourself up about it. You didn’t do anything…” I reassured him. He then looked into my eyes. “But…Xion…I just…” he started to say, but then I interrupted him. “Roxas, please, let me talk.” I pleaded him. “Okay…” he said, as he stood there, silent and ready to hear what I had to say. I then took a deep breath and let everything out. “You don’t have anything to apologize for Roxas. I was the one who ran away yesterday. I’m really sorry if I made you confused and hurt your feelings. But you have to understand that I have never been through this kind of experience before…so naturally, I was afraid. I was afraid of what might happen, because I had never been through this before. Look, I know that what happened the night of the concert was something we both wanted to happen, and I just want to let you know that I truly did desire that moment. Roxas, I’ve never been in love before…I don’t know what love is like. Love is like a mystery to me. It’s like a whisper, a myth, a rumor that I don’t believe in yet. I want to believe in love, but I’ve been through so much in this life...I don’t know if I can handle a relationship just yet. Roxas, I truly want for us to be together, but I need to think of this a while longer. I’m sorry Roxas…but I’m too scared…I have to figure out my feelings on my own. But I do love you…” I said. I was being completely honest with him. “Xion…I-I understand your feelings…and I’ll respect them…” he said to me slowly. “Thank you for understanding Roxas.” I said to him appreciatively. “But you have to understand my feelings too…” he said, as he started to get closer to me. I froze for a moment and walked back a few steps. “W-what do you mean Roxas?” I asked him, my voice shivering. “Xion, forgive me for this, but I have to know…” he said to me, as he held my waist, pulled me close, looked deep into my eyes, touched my face with both of his hands, and then his lips pierced against mine. My eyes opened wide as his lips collided on mine! I felt my heart racing, my body heating up, my eyes closing, my lips being kissed by Roxas! I wanted to pull away…but I didn’t. I yearned for this. I yearned for this so badly. I then wrapped my arms around his neck and embraced him fully. I could feel his warmth, I could feel the lust in his lips, and I just stood there, taking it all. Oh God, I just wanted to go blank, this kiss felt so good! But then I realized that I needed to pull away. I was enjoying this kiss more than anything else in this universe, but I needed to stop. I then gasped as I slowly pulled away from Roxas’ lips. Both of our faces were blood red, and our eyes lustful for each other. I felt my body shaking, and then I looked away, catching my breath. I then slowly looked at him again, and he looked at me. “I’m not sorry for what happened just now…” he said to me as he looked into my eyes. “I know…I’m not sorry either. B-but please, Roxas, let me think about this…okay?” I asked him, keeping his gaze. He blushed and nodded. “Okay. Then I’ll see you tomorrow.” he said. “Yeah…see you tomorrow.” I replied, as I turned around and walked away. As I went home, I suddenly heard a noise, and I quickly hid behind a dumpster. I overheard hushed voices. “If you tell anyone about what we did at the concert, you’ll be taken care of. Understand!?” said one of the voices. It sounded like…Seifer! “Affirmative…” the other voice whimpered. It was Fuu! “We don’t like having to do this to you Fuu, but you have to keep quiet, ya know?” said the unmistakable voice of Rai. “Understood…” Fuu replied. Fear was written all over her voice. “Good, I’m glad we’re on the same picture. Now let’s go…” Seifer said, and just to make sure that I wouldn’t get spotted by them, I waited a few minutes until I didn’t hear their footsteps anymore. I stood there shocked. I couldn’t believe what I had just heard. Seifer, Rai, and Fuu were responsible for the explosion that had taken place at the concert! I mean sure, Seifer and his gang were jerks, but I would never have expected them to pull a stunt like this. It was way too violent to be true! Now I stood at a loss. I had to call the police…but Fuu was being threatened just now…which meant she was probably meaning to tell the police everything…but since Seifer and Rai threatened her, she’s being forced to keep shut. I don’t want to put her in any danger! But I can’t just stand by while a crime like this goes unchecked! Now my mind was a train wreck. Not only did I have to deal with my own problems, but now I had the issue of the explosion in my mind as well! I made it home and I immediately went upstairs. I had already left some food for my father. I went to my bedroom and laid on my bed, distressed and worried. What would I do now? Would I tell the principal about this? Would I go straight to the police? What could I do!? The thought was ravaging through my mind. I didn’t want Fuu to get in trouble, but I didn’t want Seifer to get away with this either! Just why did he even create the explosion anyway? What the hell was his motive? If this was just to provoke me and Roxas, then this was one hell of an immature way to do so! People could have died that night! I then put a pillow to my face and I screamed for a long while. I let out all my frustration. I needed to let it out. After having finished screaming, I sat on my bed and looked at the mirror facing me. What would I do tomorrow? Then a thought came to me. I thought that it would be better if I told Tidus and Roxas about this, and that way, we’d investigate this on our own, and find a way to make sure Fuu doesn’t get hurt. It was decided. Now that I knew about who started the explosion, I had to act, no matter what. (End Song Here) ----------------------------------------------- “Seifer did what!?” “Ooh, a secret mission!? “Fuu…” “Why would Seifer and his gang do this?” Be prepared for Chapter Fourteen: “Finding Out Why.” Ha, I bet you all were quite shocked at that final bit of the chapter. Yes, I hope you all dropped your jaws! Now, I wonder what will happen? If you want to find out, you’ll have to wait until the next chapter arrives! Hehe, anyways, make sure to tell me what you thought about today’s chapter, and as always, thank you all for your support! Until next time, stay tuned for the next chapter! The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted October 27, 2014 Good evening everyone, here’s another chapter for you all! I’d like to take this opportunity to say that I’m really happy with how this story has been turning out so far! I bet you all keep wondering how I come up with these chapters, am I right? Well, the answer is simple. I come up with the chapters practically on the spot. Everything just comes naturally as I type! And well, the story often takes a life of its own! Haha, anyways, enough babbling though, here’s the chapter, from Roxas’ perspective! Enjoy! Chapter Fourteen: Finding Out Why The next day, I felt a little nervous. After what happened yesterday, I didn’t know what to expect once I saw Xion. Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t regret kissing her, and I know she didn’t regret kissing me, but I still felt nervous either way. I had told Ven and Vanitas what happened, and all they would do was tease me about it the rest of the night! But luckily, this morning they got a little more serious and they were prepared to have my back if something happened. Strangely enough, Xion didn’t come today on the bus either. I missed talking to her on the bus. But hopefully she’d be at school today. After we arrived to school, I looked around to see if I could find Xion. Sadly, there was no such luck. I then yawned and rubbed my eyes and looked at the sky. It was a clear, comforting blue color, with almost no clouds in sight. The sky practically looked like a painted canvas! I then closed my eyes and thought about the kiss Xion and I had again. I felt shivers down my spine and I smiled. Then, all of a sudden, I heard frantic footsteps heading towards me. When I saw who it was, it was Tidus! “Roxas!!!” Tidus yelled as he stopped right in front of me. A few inches more and he would have run me over! I noticed his concerned face, and then I put my hand on his shoulder. “Tidus, relax, you look like you just went through a hurricane!” I told him. He then took a few more breathes and then he crouched, dragging me down with him, and he looked around to make sure no one was near us. Sure, we got strange looks from the other students, but they weren’t close enough to hear us. “Listen, I was talking to Xion just now…she’s been waiting for you! She found out who was responsible for the explosion from the night at the concert!” he whispered to me, and at that, my eyes opened wide. “Really? Who was it?” I asked, wanting to know. Tidus shook his head and stood up. “If you want to find out, then you’ll have to come with me. Xion will explain everything!” he said, as he bolted off. I made sure not to lose sight of him as I ran after him. After a few minutes, we arrived at the back of the school, where Xion was waiting. (Start Song Here) “So, what’s this about?” I asked, as I came to a stop, Tidus by my side. “Roxas…it was Seifer and his gang…they were responsible for the explosion!” she proclaimed, and at that, I stood there in disbelief. I mean sure, they were jerks and all, but still, I never imagined that Seifer and his gang would be capable of something like this! Anyways, Xion explained everything to me, and Tidus nodded and added a little overdramaticness at some points during Xion’s explanation. She then told me that Fuu apparently was going to confess about their actions, but she was threatened by Seifer, so she was forced to remain shut. She told me that she was thinking of calling the police, but she didn’t want to risk Fuu’s safety. So we stood there for a while, thinking of what we could possibly do to get word of this out to someone that could handle the situation without Fuu getting hurt. All of a sudden, the bell rang, signaling the beginning of the school day. With that, Tidus, Xion and I looked at each other silently. “At lunch break, we meet back here. We’ll discuss what to do by then. Try to come up with ideas, okay?” Xion asked, looking at us. “Okay, we’ll meet here. Let’s hope we have a plan by then.” Tidus said. I looked at both of them and nodded. “Right. Well then, see you later!” I said to both of them as I went to class. For most of the morning, I was thinking of how to tell someone about Seifer and his gang. It gnawed at my mind for the entire morning, but luckily I was able to make sure none of the professors would notice. If we started following Seifer and his gang all of a sudden, he’d suspect something’s up, so that idea was quickly scrapped. I also thought that maybe I’d ask around school to see if the students had seen any suspicious activity lately, but again, that would arouse suspicions, so that was another no. I then thought about the police, but Xion had stressed that it was better not to tell them of this, or at least not for the time being. I really didn’t know what we could do. The professors wouldn’t be able to handle this situation either, so I didn’t have any ideas on me. I then sighed and hoped that Tidus or Xion would have plans. “Ugh, this is a mess.” I thought to myself, and then, the bell rang, signaling the time for lunch break. I quickly went back to the rendezvous point where Xion, Tidus and I would meet. Xion and Tidus looked at me, thinking that I had some sort of idea. “Sorry guys, I got nothing.” I said as I shrugged. “Hmm, how about you Tidus?” Xion asked, looking at him. “Well…there is one thing I have in mind. But it’s kind of risky.” he answered hesitantly. Xion and I both looked at him sharply. “We have to try. We need to take the risk. So, what’s the idea?” Xion asked. I had to agree with Xion. At this point, we had to take a risk if we wanted to do something about this. “Um, well…I was thinking…what if we provoke Seifer? What if we did something that makes him so angry that he just wants to get back at us? That way he’d probably try to mount something up like what he did at the concert. He’ll probably put Rai and Fuu to the task of helping him, so maybe we’d expose him or something, I don’t know. I know Rai would be eager to help Seifer, but from what Xion told me, Fuu doesn’t seem to want to be a part of these things Seifer does, which means Fuu is following Seifer because she doesn’t have any other choice. I know this is a very risky move, but if we want to be able to get Seifer without risking harm to Fuu, we’re going to have to take this approach. We’ll have to be extra careful. We can’t let Seifer get away with this, because people could have died that day! It’s a good thing no one got hurt though, because if something had happened, it would have been messy. So anyways, that’s my plan. What do you think?” Tidus asked as he finished explaining his plan to us. We were really impressed. We never thought Tidus would come up with such a plan! (End Song Here) “Wow, it does seem risky. But it’s a brilliant plan! We’ll go through with it. But what’s left to discover is why they did what they did.” Xion said as she got deep in thought. “Isn’t it obvious? He’s probably still angry over the other time that we fought!” I said, remembering that faithful day, when Xion had told me about her pain. “Well, that’s a very stupid reason to want to resort to something as drastic as an explosion.” Tidus scoffed, rolling his eyes and crossing his arms. “Exactly! He’s too insane! Payback is one thing, but he doesn’t have to involve other people just to get back at me…” I said, now feeling anger swell up inside me. “We’ll find out why he did this soon enough. For now, let’s just keep our heads low and pretend that we’re going about our daily routines.” Xion said quietly. “Gotcha! Well, see you guys around!” Tidus said, as he walked away. Now it was only me and Xion. We both looked at each other and then blushed. We were both about to speak, but we both cut each other off. We even laughed a little, and then Xion looked at me right in the eye. “Roxas…about what happened yesterday…” she started to say, but I quickly put my finger to her lips. I smiled and shook my head. “Like I said, I’m not sorry for what I did.” I replied. Suddenly, I heard some voices coming from behind us. Xion took my hand and pulled me towards some bushes, where we hid. “We have to keep quiet.” Xion whispered to me, and I nodded in agreement. As we made sure to keep ourselves well out of sight, the footsteps sounded closer. After a few seconds, three people walked to the same exact spot where Tidus, Xion and I had been standing. As I looked closely, I noticed that it was Seifer, Rai and Fuu! Rai had a smirk on his face, and Seifer seemed to be really angry. When I looked at Fuu, her face was full of fear. At that, I immediately felt sorry for her. Even though she had bullied Xion, I just couldn’t stand seeing Fuu look so helpless. Apparently Seifer had signaled Rai to guard the front so that no one would come around, because now it was only Seifer and Fuu who were there. I felt so angry…I just wanted to punch Seifer’s jaw and really teach him a lesson! But I knew that I couldn’t do anything, because if we wanted to find out why Seifer had done what he did, we needed to be quiet. Xion and I quietly moved a little closer to where they were. Luckily, there was a big enough bush to hide us both. We then stayed as quiet as possible to see if we could overhear Seifer’s conversation with Fuu. (Start Song Here) “Lately you haven’t been yourself Fuu…you haven’t been trying to escape from me, have you?” Seifer asked in an intimidating tone. “Negative…” Fuu said in a whimper. “Hmph, good. Because if you try to escape from me and tell the police about the explosion…then you’ll be dealt with permanently…” Seifer said, walking around her in circles. She looked down and clenched her fists. “Why?” Fuu asked. She then looked up at Seifer, her eyes directly staring at him, facing him. Seifer then laughed and shook his head. “You know why we did this! Those stupid little dweebs thought that they could humiliate me!? Well, they had another thing coming! Unfortunately, we weren’t able to even get back at them…” Seifer said angrily, glaring at Fuu. “Innocents…” Fuu said, looking away. “Oh, what? Now you suddenly care about the well being of other people? You were actually worried that someone was going to get hurt? Ha, you’ve grown soft. You little wretch!” he yelled as he slapped Fuu and knocked her down. “That’s going too far…” I whispered to Xion. I wanted to stand up and just beat the hell out of Seifer, but Xion pulled me down and shook her head. “Calm down…” she said, as Fuu stood up. “Apologies…” Fuu said, as she bowed her head. At that, Seifer smirked. “That’s more like it. Now come on, let’s go before someone sees us here…” Seifer said, and with that, he and Fuu left. Xion and I waited for a few minutes and then got out of the bushes, and we looked at each other silently. “Fuu’s hesitating. She wants to tell someone about this, but she’s too scared to do it. That stupid Seifer has her threatened! I can’t believe that he’d go to such extremes just to make sure no one finds out about what happened at the concert! That jerk! He should be rotting in jail! If only I could get my hands on him, I’d make sure he never threatens anyone else ever again! I mean seriously, this is something cruel! He just does what he pleases with her, and she’s forced to say shut about it!? I can’t stand this kind of injustice, it’s just inhumane! Xion, we need to help Fuu somehow, we have to take Seifer head on! We have to make sure this jerk pays for what he’s done!” I said, letting out all my anger, and then breathing in deeply and breathing out to calm down. “I know that it’s inhumane Roxas, and I want to help Fuu too, but there’s something you haven’t noticed. Something you failed to see in her.” Xion said to me with a grim tone. I then looked at her confusingly. “What? What didn’t I notice?” I asked. “She seems to stick with him because she owes him.” Xion answered. I still felt confused. “What could she possibly owe him?” I asked. Xion looked at me and then she walked towards the spot where Fuu had been standing. “I think it must be from something that happened in the past. My guess is that she must have been in some kind of trouble, and Seifer came in and helped her, and I’m guessing that’s why she sticks with him, out of sense of appreciation. So I think she’s with him because she owes him.” Xion explained, and then I understood the bigger picture. “Well, that might be the case…but how did you figure that out?” I asked her. “I could see it in her eyes. Even though she is afraid of him, she also respects him.” She said, walking towards me. “That jerk doesn’t deserve any respect!” I said angrily, clenching my fists, and then Xion held my hand tightly and looked at me. “We’ll see to it that he gets what he deserves. But to do that, we have to stick to Tidus’ plan.” she said, and at that, the bell rang. “Okay Xion, we’ll follow Tidus’ plan. Now let’s go to class.” I said. (End Song Here) I couldn’t concentrate on any of my classes after what I had seen. I had so much anger swelled up inside me, I just wanted to explode! I just couldn’t believe how much of a jerk Seifer was! He was despicable and cruel. I then thought about Fuu. She looked so weak and helpless, and she looked so frail. I really don’t know how Fuu could respect a jerk like Seifer. I just really don’t know. Xion was by my side writing down Professor Sugoi’s notes, and I looked at her for a moment. She looked worried too. I then looked at Professor Sugoi, who was checking some paperwork in his desk. For some reason, I felt compelled to tell him about what was going on, but I knew that I couldn’t. But still, there was something inside me, telling me that I should tell Professor Sugoi what was going on. “Psst, Xion.” I whispered. I then called her again, and then she looked at me. “What is it Roxas?” she asked me, finishing writing down her notes. “I feel like telling Professor Sugoi about what’s happening.” I said to her. At that, she opened her eyes wide. “Are you crazy!? You can’t do that!” she whispered to me. I then shook my head. “Just listen to me…I’m going to talk to the professor and tell him that I read an online story, and I’ll tell him about what’s happening to Fuu, but changing the names so that he doesn’t suspect anything. Get it?” I asked as I explained to Xion my plan. “Hmm, well, when you put it that way, I guess it’s crazy enough to work.” Xion said. “Don’t worry, just leave it to me!” I said, as I then quickly wrote down the notes that Professor Sugoi had written. For the rest of Sugoi’s class, I deeply thought about how I’d talk to him about this. I had to be careful with my words, and I had to make sure that I’d mention everything about the current situation while adding some different things here and there to make it seem like I read a story online. Even though I knew that the professor wasn’t really a person that would check for things online, I had to make sure that he wouldn’t ask out of curiosity about what the name of the story was. After thinking about everything, I breathed in and out. Now I knew what I’d say to the professor. All I had to do was wait until the bell rings, and then I’d be able to talk to the professor alone. In the meantime, the professor made us act out lines from different scripts he had in his hands, and he also acted out a few himself. Let me just say this. He wasn’t the drama professor for nothing. Then, the bell rang. As the students walked out of the classroom one by one, Xion looked at me and wished me luck. I then breathed in deeply and walked towards the professor. Now it was the time to talk. “Um, professor, can I have a word with you?” I asked, trying to sound casual. The professor put aside some paperwork and then took off his reading glasses and then looked at me, putting his hands together. “Sit, young one. Now, what do you wish to discuss with me?” he asked. “Well, you see, the thing is, I want your opinion on something.” I explained, as I sat down, looking at the professor. “And what would that be?” the professor asked in a calm tone. “Well, you see, I read this story online not too long ago, about a young girl, a maiden, with a mysterious past who served under a corrupt warrior. The warrior had done something horrible, and the maiden had been his accomplice, and she repented and decided that she would give herself in to the royal guards of the king’s palace, but the warrior threatened to kill her if she did just that. So, she decided to remain shut, and even though the warrior was cruel to her, the maiden had a deep respect for him. In the story, she is under constant threat from this warrior, and well, I think it’s kind of unfair that she was forced to stay quite about the horrible things the warrior had made her help him do. It was a very interesting story, and I had been meaning to tell you about it, but every time I tried to tell you, I would forget. So yeah, professor, if you were a part of the story, what would you have done concerning the maiden?” I asked after carefully explaining the supposed story I had read. I was being hopeful that he’d buy this. Luckily, he did. He stroked his chin and closed his eyes. “Hmm, this is an interesting tale indeed. Well, if I were in the story, I would do all in my power to pull the maiden out of the warrior’s clutches, secure her in a safe place, and then take care of the warrior, to put him in his place.” the professor said. “Ah, I see. So that’s your take on it?” I asked. “Yes, that is correct. And allow me to say something else.” the professor answered. “Okay, sure, what is it?” I asked. The professor then looked at me directly in the eye and he held my gaze. Oh damn, he was suspecting something! (Start Song Here) “This maiden, whoever she is, sounds like she is in need of help. I would advise you to approach the situation carefully. If you get in the wrong way, people might end up getting hurt.” the professor said in a cautious tone. I was shocked. “Wait, so you mean—“ I started to say. “Yes, I knew about what you were speaking. I can easily tell when a person lies. I am well aware of the situation regarding Seifer and Fuu.” the professor explained, stroking his chin again. “But if you know what’s going on, why haven’t you done anything to help?” I asked, still shocked that the professor had seen right through me. “Because, Roxas, I too, do not want any harm to befall Fuu. If I were to make a move, Seifer would think that Fuu had gone to the police, and that would mean trouble for her.” he said to me as he crossed his arms. “I see. You got a point.” I said, nodding in agreement. “Now then, you should be going now. You must do all that you can to help Fuu get out of this predicament. I have had various occasions to speak to the girl, and contrary to what many believe, she is a noble person. She has just been keeping bad company with her. I know that she has been a source of anger to you and your friend Xion, but try to understand her feelings. That poor girl has a reflection of sadness on her face. An empty reflection that never changes and never brightens. The sooner you go to her aid, the better. Now go, Xion is waiting for you.” he said as he started organizing his paperwork. I stood there in front of him astonished. I didn’t know what to say. I was still shocked over the fact that he knew about all of this! I then shook my head and bowed my head down. “Thank you so much for your advice professor!” I said. The professor then looked at me and smiled. “You are welcome.” he said, and then he put on his reading glasses as he examined the paperwork on his desk. I then walked out of the classroom and then saw Xion, who had been waiting for me. She walked towards me and then we walked down the hallway together. “So, how did it go?” she asked me with an eager look on her face. “Well, he knew about what was happening all along.” I answered her. She then looked at me confused. “So wait, if he knew, then why hasn’t he done anything to help?” she asked me. “For the same reason as us. He doesn’t want to risk any harm to Fuu. But he advised us to help her in any way we can.” I said to her. “You know, I think Fuu’s also going to be participating in the national track competition, because I saw her talking with the coach. So she might be in practice sessions with me. If I’m able to, I’ll try to talk to her, to see if there’s any way she can be helped.” Xion explained. “Good idea!” I replied. Hopefully Xion could be able to talk to her! And so, we went to our respective classrooms. For the rest of the day, everything was quite. I wrote down notes from each of the professors, and then I looked out the window. The sky was getting cloudy. It looked like it would be raining soon. I then thought of Tidus’ plan to expose Seifer and make him respond for his actions. It was a risky plan, but it was a risk that had to be taken. And now that there was the chance of Xion being able to talk to Fuu during her practice sessions, I felt more hopeful. I just wanted this whole mess to be dealt with already. I really hated situations like this. But, there was no escaping this situation now, so I had to face this head on with my friends. We couldn’t just leave Fuu like this, we had to make sure that she’d be safe! When the bell rung, I went out of the classroom and towards the bus stop. Ven, Vanitas and Xion were there, and we all took the bus. After arriving home, I played PS3 with my brothers for a while, and then I ate some fries with fried chicken and potato salad, and boy was I full! After that, I took a long shower and then headed downstairs, where Ven and Vanitas were watching a movie. I decided to watch the movie with them, to get my mind off of things, at least for a while. After the movie was done, Ven and Vanitas went upstairs to sleep. I stayed in the living room for a while, watching TV and flipping through the channels. A few minutes later, I turned off the TV and then headed upstairs to my room. I sat on my bed and looked at the floor. Tomorrow we’d carefully execute Tidus’ plan. Tidus and I would try to do something to get Seifer’s attention, something to humiliate him. Xion would talk to Fuu during her track practice session. Everything was in place. Soon, Seifer would have to face his crime. He wasn't going to escape from this! (End Song Here) ------------------------------------------------ “Fuu, we’re trying to help!” “No…” “Seifer, come here and face me!” “What did you say punk!?” Stay tuned for Chapter Fifteen: “Fuu’s Conflicting Emotions.” Okay everyone, that was the chapter! The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted November 4, 2014 Good evening everyone, I hope that you’ve all been doing okay! Now then, I’m sure you’ve all been waiting eagerly for the next chapter, so here I am to give you one! This chapter will be from Xion’s perspective, and well, I hope you all find it to your enjoyment! Now then, without further ado, read on, my dear followers! Chapter Fifteen: Fuu’s Conflicting Emotions The next day, after I had taken my first classes, I went straight to the gym, where the coach was waiting along with a few more students. Today was another one of my practice sessions for the big national track competition, and as I entered the gym, I expected to find Fuu among the other girls. Thankfully, I was correct. She was standing behind the crowd, and she looked spaced out. I knew that look. I was also like that at times. And that’s why I knew that if I were to talk to her, maybe I’d be able to understand her better. As I looked around, it looked like Seifer and Rai were nowhere to be seen, so I figured it’d be safe to talk to Fuu. As the coach gave us the rundown on how today’s practice session was going to go, I kept glancing at Fuu from time to time. She was paying attention, but she was spaced out at the same time. I stretched out and warmed up and did a few laps around the gym, and I kept my focus on her. The coach sat on the bleachers and then focused his attention on a folder he had been holding with him. I then jogged over to Fuu, who was doing squats. (Start Song Here) “Hey Fuu. So, I’m guessing you’re joining the track competition too?” I asked her, trying to sound as normal as possible. Fuu kept going with her squats. “Affirmative.” she said while catching her breath and continuing her squats. Sweat was dripping from her hair, but she had a fiery determination in her eyes that kept pushing her on. “So, where’s Seifer and Rai? Aren’t they supposed to be somewhere nearby?” I asked, as I started doing squats as well. Fuu looked at me for a moment and then looked away. “Negative.” she said. So, she was alone then. At least I could talk to her more freely now. Then, all of a sudden, Fuu stopped and looked at me, as if she was analyzing me. “Suspicion…” she said quietly. I kept my calm and didn’t flinch at her comment. “What do you mean?” I asked inconsequentially. Fuu kept her eyes fixed on mine, as if she was trying to pull out my soul! “Conversation…” she said. Ah, I know. I think she was wondering why I was talking to her. Well, she did have a right to ask, since, after all, she had bullied me. So I bet she was questioning herself why I was talking to her. “Well, Fuu, it’s just that I think we got off on the wrong foot, and I didn’t want to leave things as they were, and well, I was wondering if we could be friends? I mean, I can understand if you don’t want to be my friend, but well, it’s just that, I don’t see you hanging around with any girls often, and I bet you must get tired of just Seifer and Rai all the time. And well, I have to say, you are one amazing runner, and I figured that I could learn a thing or two from you. But again, I understand if you don’t want to be my friend, but I just wanted to let you know about that.” I said to her. I meant every word that I said to her. I truly believed that if I could get to know Fuu, we could become great friends. Fuu suddenly blushed, and she looked away for a moment, as if contemplating the words I had just said to her. “Friends…?” she asked aloud, almost as if she was studying the word. She then looked at me and looked away again. “Yes, friends. Of course, that’s if you want to. If you don’t want to, then I’ll just get out of your hair.” I answered her with a smile. She then smiled back shyly and nodded. “F-friends…” Fuu said slowly, as she stretched out her hand for me to shake it. I was actually taken by surprise! I thought that she was going to throw an insult at me, but here she was, willing to be my friend! I then smiled and shook her hand. “Well it’s settled then, you and I are now friends!” I said to her happily. “Agreed.” Fuu uttered, as she laughed softly. Then the coach blew the whistle. “Okay girls, time for your ten minute break! If there’s anything any of you have to do before practice resumes, do it now.” the coach said, as his cell phone rang. He then went outside to attend to the phone call. “Perfect.” I said to myself. Now was my chance to ask Fuu about Seifer! But the thing was that I didn’t know how to approach this. After all, I had just now started being her friend, so it would be very suspicious if I asked about Seifer right on the spot. But what other approach did I have? What other course of action could I take? A thought then came to me. What if I just talked about the incident of the concert normally? That way, maybe, just maybe, Fuu would say something. It was a very long shot, but I figured that I had to give it a try. I didn’t want to tell the police for fear of putting Fuu in danger, so there was no other option left than to talk to Fuu about this situation. I breathed in deeply, and then I went towards Fuu, who was drinking a carton of apple juice while sitting on the bleachers. I then stood in front of her and smiled. “May I sit beside you?” I asked her. “Sure.” she said, and so I sat beside her. The other girls were talking on their phones, eating, and going to the bathroom. “Anyways Fuu, it seems that things haven’t been exactly safe in this school, haven’t they? I mean, sure, danger lurks around every corner, but well, I expect a school to be a safe place and all, a place where students can hang out with their friends and enjoy their time in High School. And well, it’s just really sad that in this day and age, even schools aren’t safe! I mean, look at what happened in the concert! Everything was going so smoothly, and everyone was having such a good time, and then out of the blue, that explosion pops in and startles everyone! It’s a good thing that no one got hurt, but still, that was quite a scare! I never expected something like that to happen on school grounds! I just hope the principal is doing everything in his power to investigate who’s behind all this! Anyways Fuu, don’t you think that whoever’s responsible for this should just confess already?” I asked her. I knew that I probably sounded a bit overwhelming, but I couldn’t find any other way to say what I had said. Fuu’s face was grim and remorseful. “Punishment…” Fuu said, looking down. She had dropped her carton of apple juice on the floor. She then picked it up slowly and put it by her side. She stayed silent for what seemed to be a few seconds. “So, you agree with me then?” I asked her, pretending that I hadn’t noticed her sudden change in expression. “Yes…” Fuu answered. I then looked at her and touched her hand to offer her comfort. “Look, Fuu, if you know who’s responsible for this, then please tell someone. Whoever did this has to pay the price!” I told her gently. Fuu then looked at me with watery eyes. “Impossible…” she said, trying to hold back her tears. “Fuu…do you know who’s responsible for this?” I asked her, now looking at her with serious eyes. She looked at me and then sighed. “No.” Fuu answered abruptly. I was surprised. She was definitely devoted to Seifer. Her loyalty for him is unwavering! Then I stood up and faced her. “Fuu, I know that you’re being forced to keep shut about what happened. I overheard what Seifer said to you the other day…please, let me help you. Roxas and Tidus want to help you too!” I told her in a whisper, to make sure no one else could hear. “No…” Fuu answered. I then held her by the arm and made her look into my eyes. “Fuu, we’re trying to help!” I proclaimed to her, when all of a sudden, a commotion could be heard outside. (End Song Here) As if by instinct, Fuu immediately ran outside to see what was going on, and the coach and the other girls ran outside as well. There was a big crowd of students gathered at the courtyard. It seemed that there was a fight going on. There were so many people that I couldn’t even see who were the people that were fighting! The coach tried to put an end to the commotion, but it was of no use. I then looked around to see if I could find Fuu, but she was nowhere to be seen! God, that girl was fast! I squeezed through the crowd, keeping a sharp eye out for Fuu. I was then shoved back by a few students and I ended up at the back of the crowd again. I growled in frustration and then tried to go through the crowd again, but once again I was forced to the back! Then I decided I’d take another approach. This time, I went around to the other side of the crowd, and I found a small opening, and I managed to squeeze through, and even then, I still couldn’t see who was fighting! I then reached a spot where I could stand without being squashed by the crowd. Then, all of a sudden… (Start Song Here) “Seifer, come here and face me!” Roxas yelled. I then panicked when I heard those words. What was Roxas doing picking a fight with Seifer!? Then Seifer turned around, and the crowd went silent. “What did you say, punk!?” Seifer growled back. Roxas stood firm and glared at him. “I said, come and face me! We still have a score to settle! Or are you too much of a chicken!?” Roxas said in a mocking tone. At that, Seifer got enraged. “Huh, and here I was willing to let that little fight between us slide…it looks like I’ll have to teach you a lesson in respect!” Seifer proclaimed as he cracked his knuckles and prepared to fight. I couldn’t let this happen! I couldn’t let Roxas do this knowing how dangerous Seifer was! I had to do something! “Roxas, are you crazy!? What do you think you’re doing!?” I yelled at him, hoping I could make him stop. “Stay out of this Xion, this is between me and Seifer!” Roxas said with determination. Then I heard Rai laughing in the distance. “Ha, Roxas is gonna be beat, ya know!?” he said as he laughed. I once again tried to stop Roxas from doing this, but he was already determined to fight against Seifer. All I could do was stand there and watch. I prayed that nothing would happen to Roxas, for I had a bad feeling about this. I then saw Fuu on the other side of the crowd, and she too, had a concerned face. As the crowd cheered on, Roxas delivered the first strike, which Seifer blocked and then counterattacked with a jab to his chest. Roxas fell back a few steps but then came back swinging, as he delivered a right hook right across Seifer’s face, making him fall to the ground. Roxas kept himself in position, and Seifer stood up slowly, his face full of anger. He then ran towards Roxas, kicking his stomach and then grabbing him by the head and slamming him to the ground. “Roxas!” I gasped. I couldn’t just stand by and do nothing. I had to break this fight up! Then I felt a hand on my shoulder, and when I glanced over my shoulder, I saw Tidus, who was looking at me with a grim face. “We have to expose Seifer. Roxas decided this is how we’d go about the plan. All we can do is let him do what he must.” Tidus said as he stood by my side with his arms crossed. I think this is the first time I had ever seen Tidus look so serious. “But…what if he…?” I asked, but Tidus cut me short. “He can handle himself. We have to have faith in him.” he said. There was no other choice. I couldn’t do anything else. All I could do was watch and have faith that Roxas would be able to handle this on his own. “Roxas…I hope you know what you’re doing…” I muttered to myself, as the fight continued to ensue. The crowd was going wild as Roxas and Seifer kept trading blows one against the other. Ten minutes hadn’t passed and they were already pretty bruised up! Seifer’s lower lip had cuts, and he was bleeding from the top of his left eyebrow. Roxas had bruises on his neck and on his cheek, but he didn’t seem to care much. I then looked around to see if Ven or Vanitas were in the crowd. Surely they were watching this as well! But as I kept looking around the crowd, they weren’t anywhere to be seen. Did they even know that their own brother was fighting? Then, the crowd suddenly gasped, and when I turned my attention to the fight again, Seifer had knocked Roxas down and kicked his face. At that, I felt furious! God, I wanted to punch Seifer so hard! Seifer simply grinned and shrugged. Fuu looked concerned. “Ha, this kid’s nothing but a wimp!” Seifer scoffed as he crossed his arms. “Seifer, give him another kick! It’ll make him flinch, ya know!?” Rai yelled from the back of the crowd excitedly. “As a matter of fact, I think I’ll do just that!” Seifer replied as he walked towards Roxas, who was still on the ground. All of a sudden, Roxas started getting back to his feet. “Oh ho, so the wimp has decided to take more damage?” Seifer asked mockingly. At that, Roxas smirked. “Sure, you talk so confidently like if you were the most intimidating person in the world! Well tell me, if you’re really a man, then you’ll confess to everyone here about what you did!” Roxas declared while pointing his finger at Seifer. At that, Seifer’s face turned grim. “What the hell did you say!?” Seifer asked demandingly. “You heard me! Tell everyone how you planned the explosion the day of the concert, and how you’ve been forcing Fuu to keep shut about it! Or aren’t you man enough to confess!?” Roxas shouted defiantly. At that, Seifer clenched his fists and then he charged at Roxas. “You snot nosed punk!!!” Seifer shouted as he jumped at Roxas. Only then did I noticed what was happening, but by the time it happened, it was already too late to warn Roxas. The crowd gasped. And then all came down to silence. Everyone started to back away, and Fuu’s face was filled with only horror. I then fell to my knees. Seifer had taken out a knife from his pocket and stabbed Roxas! Slowly, Roxas’ body fell down, and blood came out from his ribs. Seifer then panicked as soon as he realized what he had done, and he did what anyone else would do in this situation. He ran. He pushed through the crowd and ran away as fast as he could, and Roxas lay there on the ground, bleeding and coughing out blood. My eyes swelled up with tears, and Tidus ran towards him in a frantic panic. Fuu also came to our side, and we all knelt beside Roxas. I just couldn’t stand to see him like this! I felt like my heart was being destroyed! Roxas…he looked like he was dead…but thankfully, he was breathing, but he was feeling weak. I then grabbed Roxas’ hand and held it tightly against mine. I cried and held his hand to my chest, and Tidus cried as well. Fuu remained silent and looked down. The rest of the students immediately went towards the principal’s office. This couldn’t be happening! (End Song Here) “I think…that this should be enough…to prove that Seifer’s guilty.” Roxas said as he coughed up blood. “Are you crazy man!? Why did you risk your life like that!?” Tidus yelled while tears were rolling down his face. Roxas then looked at Fuu. “Because I couldn’t just stand by and do nothing. Seifer was making others suffer, and I wasn’t going to stand for it. I knew the risks of picking a fight with him.” he said as he laughed weakly. Fuu started to cry. “Punishment…” Fuu said as her tears rolled down. Roxas smiled and shook his head. “You aren’t to blame for this. You were just as much a victim as all the other people Seifer’s threatened. Don’t feel guilty…” Roxas said, and then his eyes met with mine. “Xion…” he started to say, but then his eyes closed and the words never came out. “Roxas!? Roxas!? Roxas, stay with me!” I yelled and pleaded as I shook him. But he wouldn’t wake up. (Start Song Here) After a few minutes passed, the paramedics came to take Roxas to the hospital. It all seemed so surreal and so unfair…I felt as if the world was shattering…tearing itself apart. The principal was talking with the police, who had come by as well, and many students gathered up to see how Roxas was doing. Fuu remained with us the whole time. I still couldn’t believe this was happening. Roxas, you’re such an idiot! What if you die!? How can I live with myself if you die!? Oh God, I felt so frustrated and scared! As soon as the paramedics mounted Roxas on a stretched and put him in the ambulance, they went to talk to the principal. The police were now on high alert, and they were ready to search for Seifer and bring him to justice! I just hope Seifer could be found soon. I then looked at the ambulance. The back doors were still open, so I could see Roxas laying there on the stretcher. He moved slightly and tried to sit, but gave up and decided to stay as he was. It broke my heart to see him like this! I had to accompany him to the hospital! “I’m going to accompany Roxas to the hospital!” I said to Tidus and Fuu, who were by my side. “I’m coming too!” Tidus said, but I shook my head. “No, you have to stay here. Now that we’ve exposed Seifer, you and Fuu have to explain everything to the principal and to the police.” I explained to him. “Okay, will do. Please take care of Roxas!” Tidus said as he ran towards the principal. Fuu waved goodbye and then ran behind Tidus. I then turned my attention to one of the paramedics and I approached him. “Excuse me sir, I need to accompany Roxas. Can I please come along?” I asked. The paramedic nodded. “Of course, please take a seat beside him.” he pointed out, and I did just that. Just as the ambulance was about to set off, Ven and Vanitas came running down, their faces filled with panic. “What happened!?” Ven and Vanitas asked in unison. “I’ll explain it to you along the way. Come on.” I said, and so Ven and Vanitas got on the ambulance as well, and we made our way to the hospital. The trip to the hospital seemed to stretch on for eternity. During the trip to the hospital, I explained everything to Ven and Vanitas. They had every right to know why Roxas had ended up like this. And so, little by little, I began explaining everything, and as I told them the story, they remained silent and they didn’t interrupt me or ask any questions. From time to time, we’d check on Roxas, but he didn’t move. He had fallen asleep halfway through the trip. I was so worried about him…and I could tell that Ven and Vanitas were also just as worried. No one could have ever possibly seen this coming…but now that this had happened, it was all just too surreal. I tried my best to hold my tears. I needed to be strong for Roxas. I had to be strong for him, no matter what! As soon as we arrived to the hospital, the paramedics quickly took Roxas to the Emergency Room, and luckily, there weren’t any patients, which meant Roxas would be put in a room in a matter of minutes. As Ven, Vanitas and I sat down in the waiting room, we all remained silent. The paramedics were working everything out with the doctors, and they were making the adjustments to put Roxas in his room. I then closed my eyes and prayed. I prayed that Roxas’ wound wasn’t too severe. I prayed that he’d be able to get through this, and that he’d be okay! I didn’t want anything to happen to him! I then opened my eyes and breathed in deeply and then breathed out. Then the doctor came from the hallway and walked towards us and pointed at us. “Is he doing okay?” Ven asked with a concerned face. “Yes, he’s stable. But he did suffer a large loss of blood, and because of that, he’s weakened, so he’ll have to remain here in the meantime.” the doctor explained. “I see. Thank you for the information, doctor.” Ven said as he nodded appreciatively. “Of course. He’s in room 358. Only one person can stay for the night though.” the doctor said as he walked away. I then turned towards Ven and Vanitas. “Guys, I’ll stay with him tonight. You two go home and get some rest. Then tomorrow one of you can stay for the night, okay?” I suggested. “We couldn’t ask you to do something like this Xion. One of us can stay here. You should go home.” Vanitas said. I then shook my head. “No, I insist. Please, let me stay here with him for the night.” I replied. Ven and Vanitas looked at each other and then nodded. “Okay. If anything happens, please let us know.” Ven said as he gave me the phone number to their apartment. “Will do.” I said as I put the number in my pocket. Soon after, they left. After they left, I went into room 358 and I then closed the door gently so as to not wake up Roxas. I then walked slowly towards him and saw him sleeping. He looked so peaceful and relaxed. He seemed to look okay, and his wound was patched up pretty good. I was relieved that he hadn’t died. But still, seeing him like this scared me. I didn’t want to lose him…I had just met him! I then sat on the chair near the bed and I looked at Roxas for a while. The moon was shining through the windows, and everything was silent. The only noises that could be heard were the machine keeping Roxas stable, the footsteps of doctors walking in the hallways and the sounds of distant computer monitors. I then held Roxas’ hand in mine. His hand felt so cold and numb. I shivered at the touch of his hand, but I held on tighter. I wanted to give him my warmth. I wanted to help him in any way I could. I didn’t want to see him like this. I just wanted him to get out of bed and feel better already! And so, without being able to hold on any longer, I silently burst into tears… (End Song Here) --------------------------------------- “Roxas…I love you…” “Hang in there man!” “Xion, is that you?” “Life can be unpredictable…” Be prepared for Chapter Sixteen: “The Heart That Prevailed.” Ha, I bet none of you were expecting that, now were you!?
