Col.Random 3,683 Posted August 1, 2014 I never once liked fanservice I always thought of it as a desperate attempt to get more people to like their shows. Anime like K and 07-Ghost were pretty good, but they had to screw it up with tossing fanservice into everything. It sounds ret@rded when the characters yell the names of their attacks.SAO was too boring for me, i couldn't get past the 15th episode and the fact that SAO lovers say the other half is worse makes me glad i didn't go past ep15.People make too big a deal out of something being an anime or not being an anime. All I really care about is how good it is.
Alicia Maddox 2,141 Posted August 1, 2014 In my opinion, Bleach is one of the best anime shows ever made (including all of the filler arcs/so shoot me).I hate that anime creators feel the need to over sexualize women, and give them unrealistic boob size (even in Bleach, there's issues with that, and one of the main reasons why I never will in my life, ever watch Kill La Kill! T.T) The blood factor in many anime shows is so over the top to the point of being unrealistic and flat out ridiculous at times.I prefer dubs over subs any day. I just think they're better overall to watch. But I will watch subs if I have no other choice. I read manga, but I think anime is better in some ways.I think DBZ is way more overrated than it deserves (I haven't watched it yet).

Setrex 1,031 Posted August 1, 2014 Attack on Titan is literally one of the worst anime's in a very long time. The show is given far too much hype than it actually deserves. I don't mind English dubs (but only when it comes to stuff I watched when I was younger, like Pokemon, Digimon, Yugi-oh, Medabots, etc.) 2 Nora Valkyrie and Aqua7KH reacted to this
OmegaForte 1,674 Posted August 1, 2014 (edited) Saban's censorship is almost on par with 4kids. Even Disney (or whoever they hired) did a better job with censorship and retaining most original names. Yes, this is on Digimon beyond season 3. lol Edited August 1, 2014 by OmegaForte

Cucco 1,907 Posted August 1, 2014 Naruto is going downhill and needs to die REALLY REALLY SOON. Yeah, it lost a lot of the quality that made it good after the first show. Attack on Titan is literally one of the worst anime's in a very long time. The show is given far too much hype than it actually deserves. How is it bad? whether or not its popular doesn't dictate the quality of the show. RWBY = Ehh...its k. Bleach= BARF Deatnote = zzzzzzzz........ *runs from mob* Weren't you like obsessed with Death Note for a while? I mean I agree with you all of those shows are pretty mediocre but it seems like kind of a sudden change.
DragonMaster 1,166 Posted August 1, 2014 (edited) I prefer English dubs. I absolutely cannot stand the high pitched annoying hyper cutesy voices lots of girls/women in anime have. I cannot believe Japanese girls sound like that naturally. And if they do, then I'm glad as heck I don't live in Japan. (This applies to Video Games and Anime, but I'll put it here since it kinda ties in to the above). Chie's original voice in Persona 4 was better by far. The new Chie was actually pretty good in the anime, however I couldn't stand her in Arena and I didn't like her much in Golden. What's more, I hate when people say (about Chie's first voice) that she sounded like a full grown woman. The voice worked perfectly fine on a 17 year old high school girl. Seriously, I've met a bunch of girls in school that sound like adults. Teens at that age tend to sound closer to adults than children. Plus, the same could be said for EVERY OTHER CAST MEMBER. I liked the second half of the Sword Art Online. AND Sugu was my favorite character. AND Asuna was my least favorite of the heroes/heroines. AND I found Sugou to be an effective villain due to his creepiness and insanity (his evil plan was stupid, though). Fan-service doesn't ruin anything for me. As long as the rest of it is entertaining, then I don't care if there's fan-service or not. If it sucks without the fan-service, then it will suck with fan-service. If it's good without fan-service, it would still be good with fan-service. I don't want to watch the second season of Oreimo because I know it's gonna go the incest route. I was so pleasantly surprised when the first season avoided doing that, against my expectations, and actually had a GOOD story. Like, I was expecting to watch an episode or two, find it stupid, then move on. But it was actually good. The story was heartwarming and sweet, and the characters were good (except Kirino, who was an insufferable jerk, which only make the incest route more unbearable). Going with the incest option just completely goes against the characterization they built in the first season, and I just don't want to watch what I like get deconstructed and turned into something I don't. Though I know it's shallow, I absolutely cannot stand DragonBall's art style and refuse to watch because of it. Sgt. Frog remains to this day the most hilarious anime I've seen, and the dub was far superior to the original*. It's a darn shame it never got very popular outside of Japan, and it saddens me that we'll never get the rest of the series, or even the rest of season two dubbed. Heck, it's impossible to find 100+ of the episodes fansubbed, and a lot of those that were had subs that sucked beyond reason. *Note: They actually were very liberal when writing the dub version. The story lines of each episode remain generally the same, but a lot of the dialogue was changed, and, IMO, made much funnier. Granted the original version is still enjoyable. Gamerazor247 877 Posted August 2, 2014 Japanse VA's all sound them same! SUB is shet, what makes it so good , YOU DON'T EVEN UNDERSTAND (unless you know Japanese). Just because the lip sync is more on key GTHO...
Setrex 1,031 Posted August 2, 2014 How is it bad? whether or not its popular doesn't dictate the quality of the show. It gets more hype than it deserves. It is at best a bad show. Awful storyline, awful characters, dreadful pacing and just all round bad. It wasn't my thing. I don't dislike it because it's popular, I dislike it because it's an awful anime. A few friends of mine adore the shit out of it and I can't see why tbh. Personally there is far better anime out there but taste is subjective.

Deadpool 1,200 Posted August 3, 2014 I hate fanservice in serious/story oriented anime. Major turn off for the tones. if it's not hentai it doesn't need boobs or sexual stuff everywhere. I don't think Attack on Titan is that bad. I can see the flaws, but I still enjoy the series. I make fun of it a lot though. (Kinda like how I feel with KH). I laugh whenever anybody weebs out and defends a series. I watch tons of things people dislike for notable flaws but that doesn't stop me from enjoying it. I like plotless comedy things like Space Dandy and Keroro Gunson. It's a good break from dumb slice of life schoolgirl stuff, magical girls, and overly 2EDGY/2DEEP/2SERIOUS stuff that's usually really popular. However, I do get ticked off when they hint at some plot advancement or act like they're gonna start a legit plot and then don't. One Piece is pretty good but the anime starts to suck later on. Cyber Shaman 990 Posted August 7, 2014 (edited) 1. All comedy giddy Highschool animes are the same to me. 2. Infinite Stratos was a huge disappointment 3. Sometimes I feel like fans can get really close minded when it comes to their anime. 4. I don't see anything wrong with the current Naruto, except for its high amount of interruption flashback fillers. Other than that the anime is pretty well thought out and deserve the praise it gets. 5. Sword Art doesn't deserve any praise at all. Hell I don't even know why its popular in the first place. 6. I like One Piece. I think it deserve alot more praise than it gets and people shouldn't diss it away just because the high number of episodes it has, but whatever. 7. I don't like having animes with 25 episodes, I think it's too short. 8. I don't like finishing animes. 9. Hunter x Hunter is probably the best damn anime I have ever watched. Not only is there no fanservervice, but theres also no fillers either. Don't let the innocent cover art fool you, when it's dark, it gets REALLY dark. The show portrays real life situations, and even though you can a have a power level, you can still die. Plus what I also love is how theres no such thing as a "Invincible ability". Every ability must go through a condition that is set, there's also limitations (Like how Chrollo can steal abilities but can only use them when equipping the book). And the main statement you should keep in mind is that reality is a bitch. The women are also strong as hell as well. I think Hunter X Hunter has surpassed it's predecessor, Yu yu Hakusho. The mind games and psychology is soo much to take. 10. Pandora Hearts is good, but the audio is shit. Edited August 7, 2014 by Noel Vermilion

Tigerruss 576 Posted August 8, 2014 I never once liked fanservice This post was good because of your sig. Fool. Manga is almost always better. I prefer English dubs. I'm frustrated when people talk about how great anime looks when almost all of it is so cheaply made and looks very alike. I actually find that it depends on the execution to as if the manga was in fact better than the Anime. Sometimes with good directors and voice actors the characters can really come to life, and this can be good for stuff where liveliness helps a lot, like comedies. (But it depends on how well the execution was done in the anime version how well it was executed in the manga.) RWBY's not an anime. Semantics. Anime simply means animation and RWBY is animated. Yes, there is general consensus to use the Japanese's word for animation to describe their media, but really there isn't any reason why the word can't apply to similar styles of animation. So, while I agree that RWBY is not an anime, I see no point saying to others it isn't an anime. xoblivionx13 1,133 Posted August 8, 2014 I'll sometimes call anime cartoons. They are essentially cartoons, just from a different country and with a different way of approaching it in terms of art, styles, themes, content, etc. Anime is short for animation which is the creation of 2D or 3D objects in a 2D or 3D environment. Thus I put them under the catagory of cartoons. It irritates me to no end, however, when I try explaining this reasoning to people and before I can even utter the first syllable they're already jumping at my throat and putting words in my mouth :| 1 DragonMaster reacted to this
Junko 2,815 Posted August 8, 2014 It'd be nice if we could see some more animes that are not adaptations from a manga or light novel SAO II should honestly be called Gun Gale Online, like seriously, they aren't in freaking SAO anymore. Also, SAO II is boring me even though I gave it a chance The whole Subs vs Dubs debate is stupid. Let people watch what version they wanna watch. It doesn't take away from the anime itself. I'll go for dubs first because it's in my native language but if i have to read subtitles, I will. Deadman Wonderland needs another season RWBY isn't a goddamn anime. Unless the fanservice is as bad and ridiculous as Eiken, it doesn't bother me.
