(He's one of my favorite Disney villains though,  so it would be awesome if it was.)  

Well, he is Walt Disney's most evil creation, and he is said to be the boss of the Disney villains. Plus he's been shafted in the series so far, especially since it'a all about light vs darkness and he's the ultimate darkness. I kind of hope this happens and that he was beaten so easily this far because he was merely toying with Sora and Riku, the way he toyed with his minions in Fantasia.

MX went back in time after all the events of all the games (don't know if KH3 is included tho, but he went back in time when he came back some time after KH2. Probably after KH3D since he foresaw the events of that game). That's how he knew everything.

Yeah.....it's possible. But to me, Chernabog seems like a kind of entity who doesn't actually care about anybody in this game, and only wakes up when someone wonders into his dominion uninvited.   Hm..... I think I'm going to stick with the "he's possessed by one of the ancient ones" theory.
