Sora96 17,256 Posted July 17, 2014 "Our big opportunity is to welcome back an audience much earlier in the lifecycle that possibly bought into the Wii previously," House said. "[O]ur consumer data suggests some of those people are already coming in now and that's what's contributing to the really great sales we've had." "I hesitate to say this because I know committed gamers may roll their eyes about it," House admits, "but there's an opportunity with some of the remastering or re-imagining from PS3 franchises that will potentially find an audience that hasn't played them in the previous generation because they skipped that generation." House continued: "That bodes well for us as a platform, but it bodes well for developers and publishers as well. I've always looked with envy at the movie industry about what a great job they're able to do with taking content and making it work. Disney is the best example of this, right, of taking classic content and reintroducing it to audiences over time." Thanks to Eurogamer.net.
sagman12PC 280 Posted July 17, 2014 I dont know why you wouldnt have a PS3 by now if you are a Kingdom Hearts fan. The new super slim model 500GB is only $280 on amazon new. Also 1.5 and 2.5 are both 40 dollars each. And there were many games remastered in HD including FFX/X-2 HD remaster, Jak and Daxter HD collection, Devil May Cry HD collection, and the list goes on. It would be wise to invest in a PS3 now even if you dont have one because they are cheap, reliable, and have a great library of games 1 Cucco reacted to this

I skipped the PS3 because I didn't have the money at the time, and now it is cheaper but the PS4 is out. I'd rather save up a little more to get it rather than buy an already obsolete console... 1 atheist123 reacted to this
kh-king 48 Posted July 17, 2014 I totally went for PS3. Mainly because I thought Kingdom Hearts 3 would be on it but even when I found out it would be on PS4 I still wasnt bummed about my decision.
tlozbj 74 Posted July 17, 2014 If they weren't interested enough in those games last gen, to get or save up for a PS3 to play them, I doubt they would be interested on them now. This is just for a quick cash grab, and to fill up the droughts. That comparison is also a very bad one, Disney classic remakes, are from movies of more than a decade old, meanwhile this is from a game that is just about or just turned 1 year old, if it had been done in 2-3 more years, it wouldn't be as bad as this, but remasters of 1 year old games are just stupid and simply done for a quick cash grab. 1 Mirr0rVS13 reacted to this

Just watch The Last of Us Remastered rack up the sales. Tons of PS4 owners have never played it.

I would rather put that money towards a PS4 and be able to experience KH3 and FFXV when they release. I had a PS2 so all of those remasters aren't very appealing to me (since I played them all). tlozbj 74 Posted July 17, 2014 (edited) Just watch The Last of Us Remastered rack up the sales. Tons of PS4 owners have never played it. That is why I said it was just a quick cash grab -___-, since even if it is stupid do remaster a 1 year old game, people will still go out an buy it. Or atleast that is what Sony says to justify this thing, we can't really know if it is true. Letting people who missed out on it on PS3 since they went 360 or Wii instead is a good thing.

The main reason the PSN wasn't as good as XBL was because it was a free service (that and the PS3's shitty launch).
