New Super Smash Bros. Character To Be Revealed This Monday!

Recommended Posts

Super Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai explained on Miiverse that instead of revealing the new character through something like Nintendo Direct (which are often pre-recorded), Nintendo will live-stream the unveiling. It will take place Monday, July 14, at 7 a.m. PDT.

"Looks like we're nearing the bottom of the stash of new challenger videos that we've made," Sakurai wrote. "Like always, we put a lot of effort into it, so I hope you'll enjoy watching it live."

you have no idea how intense my heart attack was when i saw this in my inbox!!!

the live stream will be here>>>: Official Site - Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U

It's actually been pretty much confirmed to be Shulk from Xenoblade Chronicles.

Note that the Xenoblade team tends to retweet any announcement post that directly relates to their games. The only real explanation is that we're getting Shulk on Monday. Oh boy, I won't even be able to focus in class because I'll be too excited. xD

But there is going to be another one, right? RIGHT?!

We'll probably get one last trailer next month, and maybe one early September before the game's released in Japan. I wouldn't be surprised if they showed Chrom next month.

Do you realize that we need a bigger roster than the one in Brawl? We only have 36, there's still mising Captain Falcon and Jigglypuff plus some more newcomers. I expect at least 40 characters

Where did I ever say that we won't get a bigger one...? We'll definitely get more characters. The game comes out in two months in Japan, though, so we won't be getting many trailers.

You forget we're dealing with Sakurai here. xD

Yeah, but why else would Monolith Soft retweet this? They never really cared about the other Smash announcements.

Well we've got a Chorus Men hint. We've got this for Shulk, and Chrom's just sitting back with no hints at all.

Knowing how Sakurai likes to do things, he's pulling the strings here again. He wants things to look obvious at all times to stomp us with his trap.

I don't really see any hints for the Chorus Men. All we've really got is something for Shulk.

Taiko in his Pic of the day. He specifically stated that Namco Roulette wheels through 1980s characters, but Taiko is from a 2008 rhythm based video game for the Wii. He even pointed Taiko out.

That doesn't really mean Chorus Men, it's just a little thing he decided to throw in for the fun of it.
