I already saw it. So what? It was a beta trailer... 

 

I'm just not fond of seeing KH as a cartoon, because it wouldn't do KH's artstyle justice. No matter how you look at it, these drawings could never be perfected in a way that would look much better. Not to mention I don't see any KH in this early plot.

Well, from what i heard of the original plot and Riku and Sora fighting for the lamp, that didn't sound faithful at all to what happened in KHI. And, ok fine, but i mean, if they were going to be faithful to the plot, would it really fit on Disney Channel? I mean, KH has gotten pretty dark at multiple points in the story. :

KH isn't particularly dark. A lot of old Disney films was just as dark as KH. And why would it be so horrible if it aired on Disney Channel. That would mean that at last Disney Channel has a good show on it again.

I know that and I already said what I think about it. I don't have anything against american cartoons. I just don't think the style fits KH, since it's already anime style in the game. They'd NEVER do it justice. Art-wise and story-wise. The idea of a plot tells me as much.

This would have been good on Disney (becase of the action), assuming the art style was more anime inspired then what we see here. I mean Sora's hair isn't anything like it is in game. Ooh or maybe a blend of Anime and Disney's Renaissance style (Beauty and the Beat, The Little Mermaid etc) would have been cool.

 

Though if they didn't go with the anime style at all they could change Sora's style to mimic the world they're visiting.

Yes, but then again, storyboards tend to look a lot different than the finished product. Since they are just giving brief ideas of what each scene might LOOK like and how the story will correspond to it, as well as getting something out of the audience. 

 

Well, from my experience, anyway. 

 

They are kinda like comic book panels. I think that's why Japanese animation studios adapt manga a lot, cause they kinda got a storyboard to experiment/work with.

Omg, can we stop calling this an anime? Hoping and wishing for it to /be/ an anime won't automatically make it better than if it was a cartoon. *side-eyes the DmC and FFVII anime*. 

 

Back to the topic; I never was and still am not gung-ho about the idea of an animated series for KH, but just knowing this guy wanted to make it faithful to the series and keep the KH atmosphere made me feel a little better.
