Velvet Scarlatina 607 Posted July 8, 2014 I recently became interested in it, but I don't want to spend money on the HD collection until I know that they are fun, or at least decent. While waiting for other games to release this year, I'm trying to find some other games to hold me over. I figured an HD collection would be a good place to start, should this actually be good. Philip Ellwell 5,487 Posted July 8, 2014 Don't waste the money: In my opinion, DMC is just Meh. Been better, been worse. Don't go out of your way to buy it.
Jilly Shears 2,144 Posted July 8, 2014 I ever really liked any of the games, but if you're going to bother with it play everything except for the atrocious reboot that came out last year. The 2nd game in the original series is pretty weak, too. 2 Philip Ellwell and Cucco reacted to this
TerraRedeemed 255 Posted July 8, 2014 The general consensus is that the original Devil May Cry, 3, and 4 are pretty good games. I haven't played 2, I hear its pretty lack luster. And I would rather not play the reboot.
Anti-SOLDIER 68 Posted July 8, 2014 (edited) I got into the DMC series with the reboot and I honestly loved it. The whole game was a blast and adventure to get through. The graphics and art style were mind blowing. I would recommend downloading the demo if you want to try it. The HD collection or the reboot cost about $20, so it has a good price. Kaweebo 3,617 Posted July 8, 2014 The reboot is fun to play and not to watch. I'd advise, if you wish, to play the game but skip its cutscenes.
Cucco 1,907 Posted July 8, 2014 The reboot is a piece of trash, get the HD collection and 4. but in the HD collection 1 and 3 are the only ones worth playing. But overall, besides the reboot, the series is absolutely magnificent.
Nora Valkyrie 461 Posted July 8, 2014 It's a good series to play with a group of friends Lee just got DMC3 last week and already her friends are halfway through the game. Lee thinks the game is really enjoyable and the music is awesome as always.
NO_HEART_XIII 312 Posted July 8, 2014 As far as the HD collection goes; 1 is alright. 2 is one of the worst pieces of garbage I've ever played. 3 is a gem. 1 & 3 should make the game worth you money. It's what, like $20 now, 3 alone should be worth that much. Outtside of the collection, 4 is pretty good & the new rebootted DmC is really good despite what butt hurt fanboys say. DmC was myy favorite game of 2013. 2 atheist123 and JTD95 reacted to this
JTD95 1,107 Posted July 8, 2014 The first game has boring gameplay and a meh story. The second game is slightly different with another meh story. The third is a decent story and decent gameplay. The fourth one looks to have good gameplay and a good story but haven't played it yet. The reboot has a okey story and the best gameplay so far in the series. Also, the HD collection has a bug. The lip syncing in most of the cutscenes are horribly off and gets worse and worse as the scene goes by.
atheist123 583 Posted July 8, 2014 I have only played the original game and the reboot. Both are great games. The 2013 game is slightly better in my opinion, especially its environment design and combat (apart from some cheap designs, like colour-coded enemies that can only be damaged by specific weapons) but the original still holds up well today.
