I think it's both sides that would say "but why?" In other words, no. From Sakurai, the whole 3rd party excuse. (Ignoring some like Megaman, because of him being so iconic+Crapcom can go fall in a ditch) SE, willing to bet they don't see any point in asking Sakurai. Just my guess though... And yes, I'd love Sora to be in SSB as much as the next guy, but closest thing we get is custom Miis. (Except Kingdom hearts games on nintendo hand-held systems) Second off, It wouldn't really fit. I mean. The characters are all well-known in nintendo and basically Smash bros is Nintendo characters in combat. (Like mortal combat somehow.) Yeah. Square and Nintendo never really had a special relationship (In fact, their relationship's been pretty much deteriorating over the years), Sora wasn't one of the big faces of a Nintendo system, and I highly doubt that Sakurai and Nomura are buddy-buddy.
