KHBbS Voice acting problem!!

Well you see... I am an Otaku,which is a person that is obsessed with anime and manga. Being an otaku I abhor English voice acting...Anyway I say that the the voice acting stinks especially Aqua's. Her voice doesn't fit her body one bit... I was expecting Aqua to have this nice light voice ,but I find her voice to be a bit heavy and out of tone.

its ok... quite honestly: Terra is good but his voice needs to be deeper, Aqua: meh nothing much to say about that just that her voice acting SUCKED!!!!!! Ven: pretty good, Vanitas: is really good, Master Xehanort: I need to get used to his voice

You can be an Otaku while still liking English voice acting...It's not impossible. Crispin Freeman, Steven Jay Blum, Johnny Bosch...all great voice actors for a LOT of anime and games. Being an Otaku doesn't automatically mean you have to hate, or rather 'abhor', English voice acting...

Well you see I am one of those intense Otakus. I've been listening to Japanese dubbed anime for so long that my hears just bleed ,just listening to a english dubbed anime. But I guess you are all right... Voice acting is okay, except for Aqua...

Overall the voice acting is really good in Kingdom Hearts. The only ones I don't like that much right now are just, like ya'll said, Terra and Aqua. But you can't really base their entire performances off of a 3 minute trailer.

 

But the other characters in the other games, like Sora, Kairi, Roxas, DiZ, and so on are all perfect in my opinion.

i think that all the voice actors all did great jobs, and i no u mite think, " this man is and idiot." But i have the E3 trailer on my psp and i have watched it many times letting me get use to the voices.

Your not an idiot for simply stating an opinion... I created this thread solely to start a debate or a conversation. But they did do a good job with the game. But still you are kind of right I can't base my thoughts off a 3 minute trailer. I must judge when I get the game...

I really liked the voice acting. It did seem a little off at first, but during the second half of the E3 trailer, it seemed like every actor got a lot better.

 

Terra: I expected him to be a bit deeper, but still good.

Aqua: Meh.

Ven: Exactly what I was expecting.

Master Xehanort: I've gotten used to it, and I liked the way he said "On this barren soil, Keyblades of light and darkness were locked in combat, as a great Keyblade War raged!"

Master Eraqus: Pretty good.

Vanitas: REALLY good.

 

And any Disney character is pretty much guarunteed to be better in English.

i pretty much like all the voice actors in bbs. terra and aqua are a little iffy but i can get use to them.

 

master xehanort though; WHOA.

i know in the japanese dub his voice is pretty rough and all but not nearly as rough as it is in english. it's going to take me a pretty long time to get use to his voice. lol.

Most of the voice actors are all right in my opinion. The one i hate are master xehanort's and Aqua's english voices. They seem out of place. But I'll have to wait until the game itself comes out so i can judge it a little more.

Well, my opinions on the VAs are pretty much all positive:

 

Terra - He sounds just like how I imagined him to sound like. A little younger actually, but it's not a problem. His voice actually fits his age now that I think about it.

Aqua - Love her voice. While Megumi's voice really showed Aqua's feminine side, Willa's voice brings out her strength. She definitely sounds like a warrior.

Ven - Jesse has really improved his VAing. Ven sounds great!

Eraqus - Like Terra, he sounds just like what I imagined; a non-evil/insane Fire Lord Ozai. Mark Hamill does a great job.

Xehanort - While I did like Mr. Otsuka's voice, it just sounded so obviously evil. With Leonard Nimoy's voice, he sounds like a regular old man, which is what MX is, an old man.

Vanitas - A bit too similar to Sora imo, but it definitely sounds like Vanitas. Like Jesse, HJO has really improved.

 

And I don't even know why people are complaining about the Disney VAs.

At first my thoughts on the VA's were 50/50. But now after getting used to the voices, and hearing in game stuff other than the trailer, I honostly don't think it's that bad. Of course someone is going to be put off by something if they hear a certain version for so long, I'm not much for anime or manga anymore, so I'm pretty open minded for any version of games. And it's the amazing storyline and gameplay I'm waiting for -along with hearing Vanitas <3 -

They pronounced it like Er(air) - racks in the JP version iirc. But I just call him Air-rack-us. Since they stuck with the JP pronunciation of Xion in Days (Shi-own and not Shi-on), I'm inclined to believe they'll also stick with the JP pronunciation here.
