Hero of Winds 2,576 Posted June 20, 2014 I think it'll be fine having him as the final boss. He needs to be stopped. However, I bet The Lost Masters have a role in the finale of the Dark Seeker Chronicles. In other words, the ending seems too clear for KH3 that I doubt MX will be the final boss. They'll pull the old "I'm just another puppet to someone else's plans" trick again. 1 Sendou Aichi reacted to this
Kaweebo 3,617 Posted June 20, 2014 MX shouldn't be the final boss, Kingdom Hearts should. Or, at least, MX infused with its power.

Setrex 1,031 Posted June 20, 2014 (edited) It makes sense to have MX as the final boss. Maybe him fused with Kingdom Hearts or something? I dunno. Either way Master Xehanort has to be stopped and whether that's as the last boss remains to be seen. I'm more curious about how the rest of the game pans out as we know it'll be the end of Xehanort. Dave 5,715 Posted June 20, 2014 After he's forced himself over literally everything in the series, I feel him being the FB would just end KH3 on a predictable, burned-out note. I do agree. While he should obviously be involved in the final fight, I think having him be the only threat is almost too easy, primarily because there are so many other options that would be just as satisfying. My own personal hope is to once again have the Heartless merely be biding their time, and once Kingdom Hearts is unlocked, they make their last desperate attempt at eating the heart of the world. Regardless, I think the finale deserves something bigger than just a 1v1 duel. 1 HikariYami reacted to this
JTD95 1,107 Posted June 20, 2014 (edited) Having Master Xehanort as the final boss might be predictable but it makes sense. I'd rather have that than some last minute asshole being behind all of it. In Avatar: The Last Airbender, throughout the entire series we knew Fire Lord Ozai would the final boss, and knowing that didn't ruin the story at all. A story shouldn't be predictable because then things would get boring. But it just seize being predictable on some occasions. If you have to many twists and turns you'll get a M.Night Shamalamadingdong story. Edit: Also, we still haven't seen enough of Xehanort as he was during his time as Ansem's apprentice. I still find it weird that he didn't return in KH3D. When Ansem and Xemnas was defeated Apprentice Xehanort is the version that should have returned. Oh well, they'll probably explain that later. chi-blade 125 Posted June 20, 2014 I envision that Kingdom hearts itself (the actual heart shaped moon) with arms and legs and eyes... also a nose. It'll attack Sora and friends by throwing heartless at them that we need to battle. Sora cracks open Kingdom hearts like a walnut... I can't wait to see what's inside it? Perhaps a nutcase umm.. Nomura or someone will be in there

chi-blade 125 Posted June 20, 2014 Isn't that thread about the storyline and the ending of it ?You wrote on your post that the Kingdom Hearts series wouldn't have existed which is a false statement as MX didn't make am appearance until Kingdom Hearts 2 was released. Storywise Kingdom Hearts could've still have existed by basing it off of events that occurred in KH Chi with the fortune tellers as MX didn't exist at that time storywise. chi-blade 125 Posted June 20, 2014 Kingdom Hearts Chi was "released" a long time after Kingdom Hearts BBS and Kingdom Hearts 2 .I know I'm giving you a storywise opinion now as you wanted? Kingdom Hearts would have existed no matter what even by looking at it story wise as the fortune teller story could've been the core of the story instead of MX. Yeah , but the story of the Fortune Tellers has been revealed to us much later than the story of MX . Which means that SE thought of that storyline after MX's storyline . I know and I agree that it could stand as a unique story . But , with SE's order of releases , it just would not make sense .
Dave 5,715 Posted June 20, 2014 So? Most of what has happened up until now has been his doing. Only because it was retconned to be as such. Both KH1 and KH2 have their own stories which exist quite well without the presence of Xehanort the Elder. Ansem/Xemnas could easily have just been a disgruntled lab apprentice who really just wanted the approval of his master, and it would have worked just fine. 2 Zola and Robbie the Wise reacted to this

As things are as they are now, all events in the KH universe up until now has been set in motion by that old goat.

ChildOfTerra_FriendOfRiku 135 Posted June 20, 2014 (edited) I (personally) want a multi-stage boss fight with various incarnations of Xehanort, and for each battle either you're playing as a different character or have a different character helping you, like the one series of battles in Radiant Garden in KH2 where the various Final Fantasy characters were helping you fight. So you fight his Heartless as Riku or with Riku's help, against Xemnas you have Roxas, Xion, or Lea, etc. I also REALLY want TAV, or at least Terra, to be involved with the final fight against MX. They deserve it! I know Sora is the hero of the series, but somehow, him defeating MX when TAV suffered so much directly from MX's actions seem unfair to me...
