Crossing his arms, Griver stands in place when the tests began.  With his eyes closed, he thinks:  I wonder if any of them has died yet?  So far I haven't heard any screams of pain or utter despair.  Now that last part was too much, even for me.  In any case, I think it's about time for me to cause a little "mischief".  Hearing Tristan, Griver responds:  "Vials?  Now that is something I myself didn't come up with.  Those were already in this place before arrival. Though, from the sound of it, it appears you're still alive.  That's a shame.  But who knows if there are any side effects from what you drank."  Closing his eyes again, Griver thinks:  Now, who should I go after first?

Drale

(Basically have Drale run and face everything that comes his way.)

As he ran, though, a huge spectral being, which was now known to be a collection of nanomachines creating a particle field, dropped into the hallway before him, blocking his path. It lunged towards him and swung a punch directly at his torso as the hallway spun ever faster...

(Warning: This is going contain inner-dialogue.)

"Oh you have GOT to be kidding me. Well, it's not like it could get much worse," Drale thought to himself, after seeing the spectral being appear. He ducked under the punch, and rolled forward. He quickly took his shadow, and turned it into a sword. He sliced at the being, hoping it would do something, and that it wasn't violating any rules. A sudden thought popped into his mind whilst doing so, "Why, hello there."

"Oh great, it's you," thought Drale to himself. More specifically, the voice inside his head.

"Did you miss me? I know you did! Now, what are you doing?" it asked, as infuriating as ever.

"You should know I didn't miss you. A voice only I can hear? One that constantly taunts me? Why should I miss you? Now, as much as I want to continue this conversation, I can't. I'm busy fighting."

"Ah, that's what you've been doing. Well, let me say one thing before I leave you for now. Be careful," it said. Then, it left. Drale knew this because he couldn't sense its presence anymore. He pondered what it was, with his new knowledge of the nanomachines. But it didn't matter right now. He had a switch to flip.

The Doctor didn't question immediately, instead summoning his spear to intercept the slash. He was curious as to what was exactly going on, and so he went to his go to. The scientific method. Start with observations, and go from there. He had observed what happened with no stimulus. A fuzzy feeling, along with something akin to telepathy. Now to observe whether or not replying would instigate a response. And what lovely lady might have the pleasure of occupying space in my thoughts and knowing what my comrade does before I do? The Doctor thought loudly as he had been directed. Of course he need not let his ruse for the Kamyn fall through simply because of a little curiosity. "Only if it's yours my dear Bastion." The Doctor said, his tone calm but with a fake restrained anger in it. He took a step back, bringing his spear back to his standard ready position. He stabbed quickly, but missed on purpose. He then stabbed again, this time the spear headed straight for Cornelius' torso, but much more slowly than the first lunge.

<My name is Betsy Shardon.> The voice answered directly to the Doctor's mind. <I...was a normal girl who was given a lot of training in telepathic magic. My mind now resides in Cornelius's brain along side his own. We are still not really sure how i manged to transfer my mind to him, but he seems to have some new ideas after discussing the whole nanites thing with you.

Cornelius batted the Doctor's spear away with one of his construct swords.

"Come now, 'doctor.'" Cornelius taunted. "Is your old age slowing you down?"

<Cornelius says not to go easy. We can"t have the Kamyn suspecting us. Scissor attack at head height.>

As indicated, the Young Researcher brought both of his blades around in near opposing arcs similar to a scissor's action.

Intriguing. And I'll be sure not to. Can you translate my attacks to him? The Doctor replied to their telepathic conduit. He leapt backwards, summoning his bow and letting off an arrow, before switching back to his spear and lunging in speedily. "Old age? Please. Early thirties is widely considered physical and mental prime, though that didn't keep me from being at least twice as intellectual as you are back when I was half your age." The Doctor batted back the retort along with one of his own.

Drale

As Drale carved into the being and slid by it, it roared out in a an inhuman, undead-sounding way.

Once he was past it though, he may have noticed that it his cut didn't kill the being, but simply left a gigantic gash on it's torso. With it's last bit of might and fury, though, it leapt at Drale as he kept running down the hallway and bit into his shoulder.

Cornelius/Doctor Pellinore

The symbol of the two clashing sword began to glow warmly as the two combatants continued to fight...

Just a few more critical blows...

Amber

As Amber clung to the edges of the room, she watched as the fire roared outwardly, and then coalesced into a single humanoid form.

A gigantic fire monster now stood before her, roared, and leaped towards her, it's fire mouth opening to bite into her...

The second and final part of the test began now.

Sandrew/Fairy

As Fairy healed him, Sandrew's attack evaporated the three attacking humanoid beings. The others watched and slowly came together as a group. Then they morphed into each other, one after the other, until a hulking monstrocity stood before the pair. It had no form beyond a morphing globulous mass, but it inched closer... it's pure silverish features shining in the artificial light... several "arms" reaching out quickly and viciously towards Sandrew.

The last fight for the key had begun... the pair just had to power through it.

Kinzoku

After the pendulum split and flew past her, Kinzoku was home free. She just had to reach out and flip the switch. This was the final push... do this and she would be out of the trial.

Ferro

Ferro walked down his separate hallway into a medium sized room. As he did, all his weapons shot off from his possession into the center of room. Material from the walls then moved toward the weapons and encased them. When it finally separated Ferro could see that all his weapons had been given humanoid forms, and while the weapons themselves sat at the core of each one, they wielded copies of their weapon forms.

The only thing was, all of their bodies were controlled by something other than them. They all rushed Ferro and attacked him in one simultaneous first strike... their new bodies... or cases, acting on their own.

There was a switch button on the ceiling, but it was currently sealed off. Ferro would have to fight his weapons to get it... to get out at all.

Emert/Jasper

As Jasper sliced through the metallic fighter several times, it dissipated with a roar.

Suddenly behind emert appeared the very same being, but duplicated. emert now had one metallic fighter in front of him and two behind him. Jasper, for the moment, had a few seconds of respite.

Tristan

The box before him fell into Tristan's hand.

Medicinal, Intoxicating, Deadly. Now it was obvious that the first letter of each word in order spelled out "MID", designating the correct vial to drink from. As Tristan held the box, he suddenly was teleported out of the trial and in front of Griver. The box would not open until the corresponding switch was hit, but Tristan had passed his trial.

Then he realized. The labeling of the bottles was for the purpose of a puzzle but it was not incorrectly labelled either. The room looked a bit blurry and Tristan noticed his speech was slurring slightly....

This would make for an interesting next few minutes.

Sanya/Efenton

"DECISION REQUIRED IMMEDIATELY. AUTO DISCONNECTION OF BOTH USERS IF CHOICE IS UNMADE" The voice over the speaker was urgent.

Efenton and Sanya would have to act and they would have to act now.

Kamyn

Adriev embraced Ryu.

"You see, my boy, no matter what power we hold, it is the knowledge and wisdom to do good that decides our fate."

The sound of the dagger slipping into Ryu's flesh was almost quiet, but Ryu would have felt it all the same.

"I have the wisdom to see that I am right. And the knowledge to know you may let your guard down." Adriev continued. The nano-machine signature was returning to him, almost greater than before. The ground began to shake violently.

"So I distracted you all this time while my nanomachines all were redirected to this planet's core, beginning a mass fusion reaction that will tear it apart in mere minutes"

Adriev's form began to dissipate as his nanomachines began the teleportation sequence.

"Before I leave you on this god-forsaken rock to die, though, I'll let you know what I'm going to do back on our planet. You see, humans have once again proven their error and folly to me. I find it useless to try to maintain such a wretched race for so long in vain. I and my true followers have superseded humanity, though. We can make something better. We can create an ultimate race like the gods we are."

Adriev's lower half began to fade away.

"That's why when I get back and kill anyone not loyal to me, I'll be bringing the Evraius back online... flying into orbit..." he smiled, " and activating all it's weapon on the planet, ridding the world of humans once and for all."

The ground erupted all around Ryu on the planet and explosions rocked the surface and the shaking intensified greatly.

"Goodbye Ryu. Enjoy your demise."

Sanya looked at Efenton.

"Trust me."

She looked up. "I am Sanya Bishop, the new Kamyn." The girl paused. She weighed her next words. "I will retain my full control."

"Ok..." He looked at her. "Im aware of rumors that there are traitors in this group..." He said. "And... If I do die... Before or even if I gain control of my nanites... Erase me from history. I don't want to be linked to a tragedy like this... And if I do survive..." He looked at her, a glimmer of hope entered his face. "Can you...help me redeem myself in this world? I would like to start a family.... Find love... I've lost what those things are..."

Sandrew began to get furious. The one thing you did not want was Sandrew getting angry. No mater how weak he was, making such a pacifistic kid angry meant trouble. Even though he could feel his body begin to exhaust even farther than it already was, Sandrew pushed himself and transformed into his earth form. "I just want to get out of here and end this! I'm sick of these trials! I'm sick of it all!" He yelled, the pressure being exerted from him was unlike any that anyone else had seen. The floor shook violently, almost absolutely mindbogglingly violently. The vibrations could be felt from other rooms, though only barely. As this occurred, the floor began to crack and open up underneath the silverish creature, slowly but surly creating a fissure in the ground, Sandrew's eyes could only be described as full of anger, such a huge anger that if he were a bigger, stronger person, he would have just ripped the thing apart with his bare hands instead. But such use of power would obviously take a huge tole on Sandrew. He began to cough blood up, and his skin began to crack as well. If he weren't in his earth form, he would be bleeding profusely by now.

As her nanites regained control, she looked over to Efenton. "...Okay." She said.

Her familiars suddenly all began to appear, swirling around in the air or finding a place to sit. She saw a few new ones, included a winged man. Angel. Nice.

"...I won't be alone. Your gift off the nanites will not be used in vain."

As soon as the computer initiated control, she seemed to teleport away. She knew where she wanted to go.

And so she ignored the small seismic tremor.

Amber

There were few times Amber ever felt scarred while in her dark form, all of which included her wicked mother. Except for now. Now she was trapped in a seemingly impenetrable room with no apparent way out, being attacked by a giant fire creature who she had seemingly no way of hurting, and for all she knew, the rest of her comrades were either dead or dying. Sure, she could try avoiding the monster, but it was so big Amber knew she couldn't evade it for more than perhaps half a minute. In short, shy of some miracle, there didn't seem to be any way Amber was getting out of this alive.

Of course, she couldn't just let herself die either, that wasn't in her nature. After enduring so much pain and suffering over the years, Amber knew that as meek and mild as she could be, she would never, ever give up in the face of death. If she could go through even half the things she'd endured when she was ten, she could stand up to this thing now. And who knows? It's not like Amber had ever tested to see if she was fire resistant in her dark form; perhaps she was. Whatever the case, the only way she'd ever saved herself from a seemingly hopeless fate before was by refusing to quit and taking a risk.

As the fire monster lunged at her, Amber swung towards the creature and let go of the chain she was dangling from. As she did, she gave out a powerful battle cry, and swung her fist at the monster's face, hoping for the best.

Before Griver could head out, Tristan shows up a few feet ahead of him.  Crossing his arms, Griver says:  "Let me guess, you're the guy I was speaking to.  It seems like you made it."  He then notices Tristan having some symptoms.  Bursting out laughter out of nowhere, Griver responds:  "Now this is a lifting treat.  You get drunk from taking in the tonic.  From what I see here, eliminating you will be all too easy."  Snapping his fingers, Griver calls two walls to both of Tristan's sides.  With drill like emerging from them, they shoot out and head towards Tristan.

Amber

The beast cried out as it flew backwards... somehow Amber's hit had done an insane amount of damage to it.

It was possible that he willpower was tied to how well she fought against this monster, and the more her passion burned, the more the monster's own flame lessened.

Time to end this.

Efenton

After Sanya teleported away, the ship controls auto-ported Efenton back to his original location. He now stood next to Griver and Tristan.... no powers to speak of.

Sandrew/Fairy

As the ground shook an a fissure opened up beneath it, the gigantic silver mass of monstrosity was unable to keep from falling in, slowly sliding into the ground, attempting, in vain, to claw it's way out. The ground continued to shake and it continued to descend into the dark below... one last earth-shattering strike might do it.

Efenton sighed, looking in his pocket for his knifes to dual wield. They were sharp enough. "GRIEVER!" He said. "Stop this right now." He said, gripping his weapon to brace for the fight. "Stop this now."

As the creature melted into the earth's gash, Sandrew summoned the last of his strength and transformed into his fire state. The ground erupted with fire out of every crack, a blazing inferno like which seemed like the heat of magma rising out of the mantle of the earth. The blazing attack left Sandrew so drained that he clasped down onto the small platform of earth that was left in the room that both he and Fairy took up, and reverted. His body was bleeding profusely from all the stress Sandrew put on it, and he had now again become unconscious.

" I warned you," that annoying voice said, drifting back into Drale's head.

"Oh, will you shut up!?"

"Why must you always try and silence yourself?"

"I'd love to debate that last statement, but I am, you know, BUSY! So can you just... oh, I don't know, LEAVE?" Drale responded, in no mood to deal with this voice right now.

"I see how it is. I'll leave you. For now."

Drale was getting tired of these interruptions, but he knew there was nothing he could do about it. He turned around, his shadow sword at the ready. He sliced the thing again, hoping to finish it off, then continued running down the hallway.

Sanya appeared before the main nanomachine generator. She laid her hand upon it, closing her eyes.

"Who are you?"

She looked over, the AI of the current area standing before her. "I need your help."

"Why do you need my help when you already exist as is."

"Because the cycle must end."

The AI was a robot to her. It then inclined it's head. "Do tell."

Blinking twice, Griver responds:  "Huh.  Well then.  This has gotten rather strange, more than I would assume.  This might take some time."  He takes notice to Efenton appearing and says:  "Ah.  Good of you to come Efenton.  Things will go along much faster now."  Then Griver notices him pulling out knives, facing his colleague.  Confused, Griver asks:  "Efenton, what's the meaning of this?  Why are you...."  Griver's eyes slowly open wide, starting to have an epiphany.  Trying to keep as calm as he possibly could, Griver says:  "No.  You mean to tell me you chose to side with THEM?  These interloping ingrates that can ruin everything we worked so hard to achieve?!  I'll give you this one warning.  Do not think of betrayal.  I've just about had it with traitors.  I don't need one more."

"And I don't want to hurt you..." He says, slowly putting his blades back. "I want this cycle of violence to be over... I just want us to end it all... I want to live as a villain... Don't you know we are just them? We are human too!" He walked closer to them. "My father has gone mad, you know that. Don't you want to be with someone who loves you? Don't you want to be free instead of ordered around by my father?" He looked in his eyes. "Don't you want to control your own destiny...?" He stretched out his hand out to him in a form of truce. "I will never hurt you... I am only here for my father. To end it. Just like I know you must want."

Drale

The spectral being evaporated and Drale was able to rush to the end of the hallway just in time, and flip the switch. As the last of the hallways closed in on him, though, he teleported away and reappeared in front of Griver, Efenton, and Tristan.

Sandrew/Fairy

As Sandrew fell to the ground, the box with the key in it appeared in Fairy's hands, and both were teleported near to Griver. Fairy was conscious, but it seemed like Sandrew was in need of help, and fast.

Kamyn

Adriev entered the control room and channeled his nanomachines into the central console. All the lights turned on in the bridge and the mountain... no... the ship known as the Evraius began to rumble and shake violently as it's engines started again for the first time in centuries.
