Captain Arrowguns 466 Posted June 20, 2014 Jasper Jasper looked around and studied his teammates. So far, they seemed like decent people. Kinzoku seemed both kind and competent, which was good. Sanya, on the other hand, he was a little nervous about. It was clear by the look in her eyes that she was in a pretty bad state of depression. He understood that, of course. After his dad was executed by the same people he'd spent his entire life trying to help, he'd been down in the dumps for quite a while. But eventually he found a sense of purpose in putting his powers to good use, and started looking on the up again. Hopefully this mission would Sanya that same sense of purpose, otherwise her depression could slow her down, and thus slow down the team as a whole. And then there was the other guy, who'd yet to speak. Jasper decided to give the guy his space until he was ready to talk. "Nice, it's not every day that you get to see so many people with such versatile powers together. Something tells me this'll be and interesting trip." Jasper said, unsummoned his sword and rolled up both his sleeves, revealing all six of his tattoos. "Each tattoo is actually a magically enchanted object, like my sword. It definitely helps me carry them all, thats for sure." Jasper then rolled down his sleeves, "So, you all ready to climb this bad boy yet?" he asked. Amber Amber relaxed a little when she saw how nervous Sandrew was. It let her know that she wasn't the only one feeling a little bit anxious. She wanted to tell him not to worry, but knew that would be hypocritical of her. She'd never exactly been an optimist. Instead, she decided to answer Cornelius, "Um, yeah, that's pretty much how my powers work. It can make things a little tough sometimes, having trouble controlling my powers, but I've learned to get around it."
Saber Lily 1,543 Posted June 20, 2014 Sanya continued observing them all with a somewhat cold countenance. Sighing, she looked around them. All different. Very different. Kinzoku though. She was too cheerful. Just too cheerful. It maxlde her uneasy, like Kinzoku had something she wanted to hide or bury away. Ignoring them, she looked up to the mountain. Maybe this time...maybe... Maybe death would finally claim her for good, and end her existance. Letting her cat tail and cat ears fold back and disappear, she watched the others with unfeeling eyes. They feared death. They had to. The fear of dying, of failure. It reeked from everyone she had met since signing up. They had it so easy.
Lady Aleister 1,677 Posted June 20, 2014 "Wait! There is one more person!" Aya announced. Sairi relieved himself from his invisibility. "I am Sairi..." he introduced, but it was only mutter. "He is my brother!" Aya exclaimed. "He can turn invisible, and control fire." she said simply.
Silvia Kuroi 1,480 Posted June 20, 2014 (edited) Varion: He smiled. His chosen companions were fairly interesting. A diverse group with equally diverse abilities. Varion glanced at his allies again, trying to pick up what kind of person they might be. His gaze lingered on the lithe, soft one. Fairy, he believed her name was. Pretty cute. A little ditzy, but pleasant nonetheless. Varion snapped out of his little trance when he saw the last two--a young girl and her sibling brother. Varion's smile grew a bit wider as he leaned back. "Nice to meet all of you." Emert: A monstruologist? Well then. He had heard of them before. Rare scientists who elected instead of magic, to study in the fields of understanding monsters better. His power was interesting, albeit strange, and gave Emert a sickly feeling. Worthrop's ability was almost...inhuman. It felt like the sort of thing that could get out of control fairly quickly. The Judge glanced at the other two. His face hardened a bit, his golden eyes scrutinizing them for a moment. They were both....off. Not in the good sense, mind you. Emert knew he'd have to keep a close eye on them, even on this mountain. Unlike Ferundil or Teragren, Mount Evraius had no laws or jurisdictions governing it. Emert could not simply arrest and detain someone for sinister behavior. Of course, with that, he could himself do whatever he pleased. If someone were to go against their mission, he would go to whatever great length to personally end them. He would ensure his party would remain safe while they went up to the gods. He himself held no specific grudge against them. He would instead ensure the safety of his allies and then, upon finding these Kamyn, Judge them like any other being. He sighed, finally coming back to what was happening around him. Alice, one of his allies, seemed to have inflicted a burn upon the Doctor. If that was how things were starting out for them, he felt there was little hope at all. "If this is how you all are going to act during this campaign, then what is the point of us going? We'll end up killing each other before we even reach the summit. Doctor Worthrop, I have ointment in my bag if you require it." CloakedSchemerX 1,011 Posted June 20, 2014 Morgan scoffed. "Double that fiery demise with my own hand and I'll add in a free pyre just for you. Fitting, really, as of all sins--I foresee you being one of lust. If not, pride." Her eyes narrowed. A very small gust of wind blew past her fingertips gently, but upon reaching the Doctor, burned mildly. Fire in the illusion of air. "You won't know it's coming." MDSVeritas 299 Posted June 20, 2014 Time was up. The magical locks on each gate activated and the gates began to groan as they started to close again. It was time to go in. Iron On the other side of the gate was an overgrown path that barely got anywhere before it transitioned to huge jagged rocks. The entire terrain became rocky as it went further into the Evraius territory, until finally it became a sheer rocky cliff. Rock walls flanked both sides of the path, too, so there was no way around it. A rocky cliff this far down a mountain was unusual... there was obviously something else at play here, but climbing the rocky path cliff was the only way up for the Iron team, and it was about 50 feet of vertical distance. It was time to get climbing. The Iron team was not alone here though. Something else was present at these cliffs. It was watching them... waiting. It was hidden from them for now. But not for long. Gold The path on the other side of the gate from Gold team was gravel, and unworn or disturbed; as if someone had just recently laid it for them. It extended into a light forest, but not for long. Eventually it led to a mouth of a cave, nothing could be seen on the inside without venturing in yourself, and there didn't seem to be another way around as the terrain broke away in jagged shifts to the left and right of the path in an un-traversable manner. Someone wanted Gold team to venture inside... and they made sure the environment reflected that. Something glinted from within the cave; a dance of light in the darkness. There was only one way to find out what lay within... Silver There was no noticeable road on the other side of the gate from Silver team, but it was already clear where their next destination was; there was a house a little ways up the mountain's incline. Smoke was rising from the chimney. On the other side of the gate there was no noticeable obstruction to keep the team's members from staying away from the house, but there was a faint but noticable trace of magic, specifically barrier-type. Something had sealed this area of the mountain. Someone really wanted them to go towards the house. Maybe an old grandmother lived there. Platinum There was a beaten dirt path that lead from the gate standing before Platinum team toward a clearing a little ways up. Much of Evraius was forested but the clearing looked perfectly circular and cleared away of any obstructions. There wasn't even grass; the entire clearing was all dirt. In the center was an orb. It seems that some sort of magic was kept within it that has cleared all the forest and life around it. It beckoned with it's dim glow to the members of platinum team... Kamyn Adriev smiled as he admired his work. It had been so long since anyone had dared try to climb Evraius, he couldn't help but feel a little like a child in a candy store. "Dante..." he spoke without turning to his peer. "I suspect you know which of these I have built for your enjoyment? Have all the fun you wish, but don't be too quick about ending their lives, I wish to savor this a little bit." He then shifted his eyes toward Vortimer. "As you can see, we seem to have been a little careless about disposing of the memory orb the last wizard to try and climb our mountain left here. I doubt it is of great importance, but if you wish to create a trial, I would suggest you create one for this 'Platinum team'. Keep them from gaining the orb too easily and see if you can gauge their skill levels. He glanced around his group once more. "Any other suggestions as to our guests?" Then Adriev turned back to the four projections. This was going to be the most fun he'd had in years. 2 Hazimie and CloakedSchemerX reacted to this

rikunobodyxiii 700 Posted June 20, 2014 "Excellent." Cornelius encouraged Amber. "Overcoming difficulties is the height of human endeavors. Many of mankind's greatest achievements were made to overcome something." Seeing that the gate was now open, Cornelius followed Sandrew in. He got the sense that some of his teammates were not happy to be here. That didn't bode well in the young research's mind. In order to complete this task, one needed conviction. Cornelius was certain he was going to get to the top. "And make those cretins up there pay." He thought. Like Sandrew, Cornelius felt it was fairly obvious that this was a trap of some sort, but his inquisitive nature couldn't simply go at that. Creating a sword and shield out of hard light, he settled in to see what was glimmering.
XxUtopiaxX 49 Posted June 20, 2014 "Hmph looks like Adriev's making his move," Ryu said as he now stood on a cloud high above the rest of the gods. He left behind his throne for a second to survey the area. He pondered many things about this plan. Such as why the would gods allow the humans passage into the mountain only to obstruct, or possibly kill, the humans? Why not just destroy them where they stand? Ryu concluded that the only way to find out what Adriev was thinking was to observe from afar. Ryu sat back on his throne. "Well anyway. The game's just beginning. Why not I have a little fun as well?" Ryu said as he outstretched his hand. "Seems like the humans separated into four groups. Those who enter, will certainly find misfortune at its entrance," Ryu and closed his eyes. "It isn't kosher to interrupt the other god's battles. So I will just give our guests a little scare," Ryu said. The clouds started vibrating and changing form, from light to dark. The winds bristled rapidly as the clouds crashed against each other giving way to terrifying sounding thunder. "What a storm I'm brewing!" Ryu laughed. "Sky.. Lightning!" Ryu shouted as a violent bolt of lightning crashed down a few yards in front of the humans. "I wonder if I should shoot more?" Ryu asked himself sarcastically. Captain Arrowguns 466 Posted June 20, 2014 Amber "Um... thanks." Amber said to Cornelius. So far, he seemed like a nice guy, although a little odd. But that was okay with Amber, she was used to odd. As the gates in front of her opened, Amber hesitantly walked through them behind Sandrew and Cornelus. She may have been afraid, but she knew someone had to stop the Kamyn, and better sooner than later. Suddenly, a storm began to brew, and lightning shot out nearby. [something tells me that, as soon as we stepped through those gates, we became the Kamyn's personal play things.] Amber though. "So... I guess we should get to that cave then, huh?" she said to the rest of the group. Jasper "Well, there's no point just standing here now that we can get going." Jasper said, and walked through the gates. Between the storm brewing and the unusually pleasant looking house before them, it seemed that the Kamyn were waiting for them. Of course, it didn't seem there was any point avoiding the house either. Who knows what the Kamyn would do to them if they did that. And at this point, everyone back home would brand them as cowards and imprison them for turning at the very first sign of trouble. That left them with only one option, "Well then, under the storm and through the gates, to grandmother's house we go." Jasper said in a sarcastically cheery tone, and headed towards the house. NatronSpore 92 Posted June 20, 2014 Ferro kept walking through the forest, swinging his arms carelessly. Suddenly he came upon a gravel path through the woods. Frowning, he walked over to examin it. "I didn't realize this mountain was so close to people. It looks fairly well kept." he muttered. A load groaning arose when he set foot on the path, and Ferro threw himself backward, landing on his feet in a thicket of trees. He quickly and silently strapped Chips onto his arm and took Vell in hand. "Keep quiet." he whispered. "All right, all right, fine, boss." Chips said a bit loader than a whisper. Ferro scanned the path in both directions until he saw a small group of people start up the path to his right. They looked like a motley bunch, a mismatch of adventurers. Ferro considered whether to hail them or not. He hoped the faint red glow of Chips's big eye didn't give him away. . . (JOINING GOLD TEAM. Feel free to notice me if you wish.) Sounds of rustling leaves, sounds of movement, all there. "Shsh..." He muttered to the group. "Wildlife and enemies like to hide and get the jump on people..." Sandrew muttered. As he watched the area, he noticed a blinking red light. He gasped, then took the opportunity. "If I don't attack... it might attack me... I don't wanna die yet... but I don't wanna fight... I know..." He quickly activated his Ash transformation, and threw a kunai at the light, as soon as it neared the red light, Sandrew had the kunai explode into smoke and ash, a thick cloud of it. NatronSpore 92 Posted June 21, 2014 Ferro saw a boy walk down the path away from the main group and pause right across from the thicket. Ferro stormed out of the cloud, waving Chips to disperse the smoke. "What do you think you're doing, boy?!" he roared. "Haven't your parents taught you any manners?!" "Aw, give the kid a break." Chips said, his voice heard in the boy's mind as well as in Ferro's. "It's not like he hurt you or anything." "What is a young man like you doing out in the woods?" Birgitte questioned. Arya Stark 1,337 Posted June 21, 2014 The Doctor gritted his teeth and didn't allow himself to show give any ground. Well, if Alice wasn't the most special girl. He wanted to give another biting remark for her increasing rudeness, but decided it was a bad idea. When Emert offered him some ointment, he shook his head. "I'll be fine, thank you." The Doctor replied, opening his book back up. He re summoned the Phoenix, which stood on the ground next to him. Warthrop put his hand near the fiery bird's face. The Phoenix shed a tear, which landed onto his burnt hand. Soon enough, it healed up. The Doctor looked at it, and flexed his fingers. Good as new. He closed the book again, then stood back up. The Doctor gave Alice a glare, but he doubted she cared. With that, he felt some mild heat. He looked back to Morgan, and recalled the words she had just said but he had ignored. Once again, the Doctor wanted to make a slightly rude remark, but he contained himself. He merely raised one eyebrow as if to say, "Really? You too?" Then the gate opened. The Doctor looked over to it. Not much to see, except for a large, vertical cliff. "If that is all this mountain has in form of a challenge, then they need to step up their game." The Doctor smiled at the cliff. He opened his book once more, and from the distance flew something huge. It was a Ciful, a large insect. It was threatening, with it's enormous wings and pincers. The Ciful landed, and the Doctor climbed on top. Then it flew up again, towards the cliff. "Come now friends, I hate to be the only one actually doing the job." ~~~~~~ Kinzoku smiled at Jasper. "You better believe I'm ready to climb!" Kinzoku said, looking at the gate, that then began to open. She skipped along he trail, up alongside Jasper. She glanced back at Sanya. "Come on! This'll be great!" Kinzoku called back to the emo girl. Kinzoku was still cheery, and confident that her goal to make Sanya smiled would go quite fine. Guest Posted June 21, 2014 The red light within the cave dissipated instantly. Now, so soon after merely entering this domain, the members of the "Gold team" ended up just the opposite--black, plunged in darkness. All light seemed to vanish at once as the cave crumbled, locking them in. Cornelius' light was all there to even shimmer whatsoever, but in an instant, it dissipated as well. Simultaneously, that light transitioned ahead of them, no longer in Cornelius' control. "Unlike others of us, feel grateful that I am considerate enough to...go along with the formalities." Dante spoke elegantly with a voice of an angel. Cornelius' former light shone like the moon, a small beacon over Dante. He was dressed abnormally, in all white and gold standing out from the others, and from the cave."You and your comrades come here with the audacity to enter uninvited. Not only that, but, you...." Dante's gaze pierced through Sandrew. "Causing a ruckus in here already? Right at me...and yet I remain here...unscathed." His hands drifted to his chin, calmly, analyzing them all. "And some comrades you are. I overheard bickering and threatening already." He looked specifically at Ferro and Drale, for that statement. "You're disappointing me. The more you bicker, the funner for me to watch, but the easier it is for me to act. Allow me some fun in this, no?"He sighed, curious to hear their thoughts. "Tell me--does all of that pass for being manners in society, now? It truly is continuing to degrade."(Uuh... schemer... Sandrew's attack targeted the red light on Ferro...) Silvia Kuroi 1,480 Posted June 21, 2014 Varion: Varion smirked as the doors opened. In front of them was a long, winding dirt path that held an equally dirty clearing--with a small orb in the center. "An orb?" He asked aloud, gently putting his palms together. The orb seemed to be drawing him towards it...if this was some sort of trap--he had to be as prepared as possible. In a moment notice he could easily press his palms to the ground and cause a great barrier of earth to protect them, if need be. "Anyone interested in checking out what it's for?" Emert: So they had the cliffs, then. A straight, dangerous climb...and Emert couldn't shake the feeling that there was something...else...along there watching them. He grunted, readying his swords. Highway Star and the Chaos Blade. Twins swords that combined to create one double-edged staff. The Judge retrieved his gear and slowly slipped on his dark-grey horned helmet. Emert needed to be as ready as possible for this. "Alright then," He began, "So it seems we have a climb to do."

Hawk Form fully activated, she suddenly took flight, flying above them. She scanned the house with her enhanced sight, and lowered altituted until she was flying beside Kinzoku, expertly maintaining speed at her altitude. "No hostiles so far." She said calmly. "I'll keep watch." She regained her altitude and continued to keep an eye on the house.

Sandrew saw the red lights of Ferro's relics, and though it was a hostile being. He threw an ash kunai at the red lights, causing a cloud of ash. This enraged Ferro, causing him to shout. As Drale had followed Sandrew, he stepped in front of him to guard him.)
