TheWayToDawn 775 Posted June 16, 2014 Okay I don't know why I asked this sooner. But we were all told in KH2 and other KH games that Nobodies don't have hearts. But in DDD Xehanort (I think it was) said that they do, indeed, have hearts... I have no idea why, but now... It's confusing the crap outta me! So, yeah. If you understand it better than I do, can you please explain? I wasn't confused till I thought about it.
Shulk 8,623 Posted June 16, 2014 Nobodies initially don't have hearts, but their bodies create new ones over time. Xemnas lied to the Organization and told them they didn't have hearts so he could manipulate them to do whatever he wanted. 2 TheWayToDawn and Neptune Vasilias reacted to this
awesomeinmyworld 268 Posted June 16, 2014 Nobodies are originally born without hearts. However, through interactions with the world, with other people who have hearts, Nobodies can "grow" hearts as Ansem the Wise states in 3D: "The heart has always been quick to grow. Each exposure to light, to the natural world, to other people shapes this most malleable part inside of us. Nobodies are not different form us in that manner." 2 Cucco and TheWayToDawn reacted to this
rikunobodyxiii 700 Posted June 16, 2014 The way I understood the explanation of Nobodies in DDD is that at birth, they don't have a heart. As they continued to exist, the hole caused by lack of heart tries to fill itself. If I understood right, a Nobody will try to grow a new heart. (I'm so so on this. If anybody's got a better grasp on this, please speak up.) 1 TheWayToDawn reacted to this
Xian Cano 78 Posted June 16, 2014 So does that mean, nobodies are just their original self but 2.0 versions? If so thats bull stuff. I sorry but it kinda makes dying amd nobodies in general kinda pointless.
Isamu Kuno 2,512 Posted June 16, 2014 (edited) Like people have been saying, while humans are born with hearts (likely at the moment they meet their parents), Nobodies aren't, but the as they interact with the worlds and people around them, they begin to grow hearts which is why the Organization was a covert group and were forbidden to go anywhere that didn't directly pertain to the mission at hand. If they don't have hearts, it's easier for Xehanort to implant his and take over their psyche. Likewise, every bond you form makes your heart stronger, which it why Sora has the strongest heart out of anyone in the series. So does that mean, nobodies are just their original self but 2.0 versions? If so thats bull stuff. I sorry but it kinda makes dying amd nobodies in general kinda pointless. That's why "Nobdies aren't supposed to/don't exist." But they aren't exactly their original selves, they have their own experiences and form their own personalities, effectively making them different people. So that explains how we saw Roxas and Axel was beginning to have more and more laughs and other feelings. Because how they bonded together, so it started building a heart faster then the other nobodies, or they just noticed it me. Thanks for clearing that up guys 2 rikunobodyxiii and Shulk reacted to this

That terminology seemed kind of pointless as the series went on, but now it makes sense again. Well thought!
Philip Ellwell 5,487 Posted June 17, 2014 I assumed Nobodies had the ability to grow hearts, but it remained dormant for most, or cruel ones, like Larxene and Vexen, while kinder ones exposed to the outside world like Roxas could eventually retain some degree of humanity. Kaweebo 3,617 Posted June 17, 2014 (edited) Xemnas is full of shit and lied to the Organization in order to motivate them to help complete Kingdom Hearts. Edited June 17, 2014 by Kaweebo 1 TheWayToDawn reacted to this
Caity 3,946 Posted June 17, 2014 Their body can grow one over time. So their motivation for joining Org XIII to find a way to get a heart seems a bit pointless cause they were growing them back all along, but they were all lied to from the beginning
The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted June 17, 2014 (edited) Darn it, pretty much everyone here has said the answer to your question, but well, I'll answer it anyway! The thing is, at the beginning, they didn't have hearts, but over time, they began to grow their own hearts as a result of their will and existence, and that is why you saw them show feelings, because they had by then already developed hearts. I'm pretty sure that Braig/Xigbar was already in the know about this, since he's Xehanort's right hand man, but the other Organization members were kept in the dark about this fact, so yeah, all of the Organization members were toyed with by the grand master of them all, Xemnas. That goes to show you that every leader has their hidden motives. Edited June 17, 2014 by Golden Fighter 1 TheWayToDawn reacted to this
