Dio Brando 5,810 Posted June 16, 2014 Today, Capcom announced that at its most recent investor meeting, its shareholders voted to end the company's takeover defense -- which means that Capcom could now be acquired if a company buys up large amounts of its stock. Many companies have defenses against a stock purchase takeover, and there are various schemes and strategies they can adopt to block a party from gaining control of the company by buying up its stock. Capcom originally put such countermeasures in place in 2008 following a shareholder vote. This latest development won't stop the company's management from attempting to "react to make necessary measures within the admissible limits of applicable laws and regulations," the company said in its statement. tlozbj 74 Posted June 17, 2014 (edited) Nintendo better open up their wallet, and get this, if Iwata really wants to do some acquisitions as he said in that investor meeting, then these is the perfect time. Nintendo could not only add a extra force to their studios to diminish software droughts, but they would also have Monster Hunter in their grip, giving the majority of control over the Japanese market, plus they could finally bring back Mega-Man. They can't let this be the last cheer for Mega-Man...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1wnnv5zySAk Also imagine what a studio like Retro could do with Resident Evil. They can do whatever they want to the sold game?

Not really reboot if you remember back in 2002-2003 and onward Square Soft faced bankruptcy due to the massive failure of the movie FF the Spirits Within, that is until their previous rival Enix(the company behind the Dragon Quest series) swallowed them in (a.k.a bought them and merged with them) to become Square Enix. The company continued and Final FantasyKingdom Hearts didn't get rebooted by the acquisition Capcom can be bought yet the can still do what they were doing but also will have another influence on them to create other stuff Edited June 17, 2014 by Annoying D Waluigi
