Happy Father's Day

Recommended Posts

Happy Daddy's Day to all y'all dads and baby daddies on this site. If you don't celebrate Father's Day or it's on another day where you are, ain't nothing wrong with telling your dad you love him anyways. If don't have your dad with you today my heart and prayers goes out to you, but think of it as second Mother's day or Father Figure Appreciation Day.

I think it's silly to decide to celebrate your mother on fathers day and vice versa, if you, like me, only have one parent who's been there for you, you should give them all that extra appreciation on their day, so instead of just a card and present on Mother's day, take them to dinner or lunch, clean the house, etc, otherwise we may as well scrap both and make it Parent's day.  Like people have been saying "Happy Father's day to the single moms pulling double duty", what about the men pulling double duty, it's their day and the mother's have their own to be showered on.

Wow, I think it's really sad that you wouldn't want to celebrate your mother twice. But two words of advice to you: 1. You should be already be doing your chores. 2. Buying cards and presents doesn't mean it's not any less special to the parent. Sometimes it's the small things that count.

It's not about celebrating her twice, it's celebrating her twice as much on her actual day.  Fathers day for single moms should pretty much be any old day and vice versa for single fathers, you just give them twice as much praise on their actual day, There's a day to honor mother's, single, married, engaged, mother figures, adoptive, guardian, a sibling who raised you, heck even a sack of potatoes with a face on it that's been dubbed mother etc regardless they're meant to get honored on mother's day.  Same applies for fathers.  Otherwise again might as well scrap it and make a Parent's day in between the two dates that were formerly mothers and fathers day.

Additionally, I was making different examples for what some people do for their mothers, not what I do.  Some people may have a couple of chores like do the dishes or or hoover the stairs, but wouldn't it be considered nice for someone to do their chores on their day, to save them having to do anything where they can just be pampered all day instead was my point, not "get of your arse and do your chores for once".  Do their chores.
