Are these two cutscenes the same cutscene?

Recommended Posts

For those of you who didn't finish or even play KH2 or KH recorded yet be warned that they're spoilers on this post.

KH2 ending

skip to 21:16

KH recoded ending

skip to 3:16 and stop at 4:39

They both have similar ending which is why i am asking if they are the same.

Re:coded plays between the end of KH2 (when Sora and Riku return to DI and are greeted by Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Kairi) and the epilogue (the scene with the letter) of KH2. So naturally, the ending of Re:coded would be that scene too. From that scene on you could say, Dream Drop Distance starts.

Yes, they're basically the same scene. The scene at the end of KH2 has Sora and Riku talking when suddenly interrupted by Kairi who's acquired an urgent letter from Mickey. The scene at the end of KH coded continues the scene and reveals what was written in the letter. After this -- not quite sure how long after but whatever -- comes the scene with Sora, Riku and Kairi at Destiny Islands from the secret ending in BbS.

Also, for future use of videos I advise you to use the ones in KH13's video archive. Good quality, and individual scenes. Much easier than having to tell us where to go in a much longer video.

The ending of Re:Coded is when Sora, Riku and Kairi are already home after the defeat of Xemnas; the ending of KHII is immediately after the ending of Re:Coded

You know.... Mickey discovered something from the memories of the journal, sent the letter to Sora so he took the Mark of Mastery, but it doesn't seem like he ever told Sora what he had discovered.

Yes, the end of kingdom hearts 2 follows into kingdom hearts re:coded with sora, riku, and kairi reading the letter mickey was writing in re:coded. I didn't play re:coded but im pretty sure it had some kind of significance to the kingdom hearts plot.
