Shulk 8,623 Posted June 10, 2014 He always looks feminine to someone. I'm just saying, he looks a little more feminine than usual here. : I'm just thinking here, a female Link would be really cool. Of course, I'm probably looking into this too deep. 2 Hero of Winds and Reyn reacted to this

Dr. Shimo 202 Posted June 10, 2014 It looks familiar because it's the same shirt Toon Link wore at the beginning of Wind Waker. Well this isn't quite a lobster. But it is a similar style of clothing, for sure, and a similar pattern. Maybe all the lobsters everywhere in ALBW hinted at this? 1 Hero of Winds reacted to this

Hero of Winds 2,576 Posted June 10, 2014 I'm starting to get a feel for it. He's matured more in all ways. Here we have 12 year old Link and Zelda U will have him at 17-19. 2 Exiblade7 and Reyn reacted to this
RasendoriBlade 10 Posted June 10, 2014 It would possibly be ww link older. Then again, didn't spirt tracks have trains instead of horses? So it can't be ww link.
Tails 6,692 Posted June 10, 2014 (edited) Teenage WW Link? Thoughts? Nah, I think it's a new incarnation of Link and not the same one from Wind Waker. Edited June 10, 2014 by Tails 1 Reyn reacted to this
Hero of Winds 2,576 Posted June 10, 2014 It would possibly be ww link older. Then again, didn't spirt tracks have trains instead of horses? So it can't be ww link. That was 100 years after Phantom Hourglass, and the Link in that was a new incarnation. Nah, I think it's a new incarnation of Link and not the same one from Wind Waker. Yeah, it may be. I feel it could go either way. But I'm getting a strong vibe on it being a more mature, more defined Link from WW.

Of course, I'm probably looking into this too deep. Actually taking another look at the screenshot of Link, it actually looks like a she and not a he. I've got small expectations for gender options. Can't believe there are still people out there who find it wrong for the option to be there, because Link has always been a male and can only be a male. That's like saying only I can go adventuring because I'm a male. 2 Shulk and Reyn reacted to this

That's like saying only I can go adventuring because I'm a male. I don't find the option wrong per se; rather, I think it'd be cool to have a female descendant of Link, though normally I prefer a little more difference. I think the main problem with it is the same that people have with him being right-handed, it's just not a staple of his character. And with a character who doesn't speak and has stayed the same for so long, it feels like a betrayal of the character to some I'm sure. Also, I've looked, and I've tried, but I really do not see how this Link looks all that feminine. What makes people think that, just out of curiousity? What makes people think that, just out of curiousity? The eyelashes, eye shape, hairstyle (though males can have long hair as well, loved the ponytail), slim head shape. Also the nose shape, and mouth size, thin eyebrows and thin physique. Edited June 11, 2014 by Hero of Winds 1 Shulk reacted to this
The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted June 11, 2014 Holy crud, this game looks amazing! Why must we always wait for such amazing things to come to us!? Oh well, this just makes the excitement all the more thrilling! Can I cry now?
Exiblade7 1,917 Posted June 11, 2014 Holy crud, this game looks amazing! Why must we always wait for such amazing things to come to us!? Oh well, this just makes the excitement all the more thrilling! Can I cry now? Maybe because they want to show less information as possible so that when Zelda U comes out next year people will have to buy the game to see what the story and gameplay is all about. Hero of Winds 2,576 Posted June 12, 2014 (edited) "It's a rumour. Actually that comment I made jokingly. It's not that I said that it wasn't Link. It's that I never said that it was Link. It's not really the same thing, but I can understand how it could be taken that way. It seems like it has kind of taken off where people are saying 'oh it's a female character' and it just kind of grew. But my intent in saying that was humour. You know, you have to show Link when you create a trailer for a Zelda announcement. "I don't want people to get hung up on the way Link looks because ultimately Link represents the player in the game. I don't want to define him so much that it becomes limiting to the players. I want players to focus on other parts of the trailer and not specifically on the character because the character Link represents, again, the player." -Eiji Aonuma Aonuma the Troll. He caused major speculation, and I'm sure he's happy to see what some of the speculations that were made. He again, reiterates who Link is supposed to be, which makes me extremely happy due to the fact most people forget they're supposed to Link. There is no female version at all either. Looks like those looking for an option will still have to wait on it. As I've said before with my several sets of speculation, this could be Wind Waker Link all grown up as he discovers the New World and the technology around it that would later be used for to form trains and the Spirit Tracks. "Because I have been at E3, I haven’t had much time to spend in doing this research, but I certainly have been checking fan reaction and I am really excited many comments have said how beautiful the game looks. The designers have been working really hard to make sure the visuals look like something players don’t expect, or maybe something they haven’t seen before, and this applies to not just to the scenery, but to the enemies and things like that. Another interesting comment I’ve heard, quite frequently actually, is that, “Oh Link’s a woman. Link is female now.” That might be something that consciously we kind of did, but not to say anything specific – I am not saying anything specific – but, I am hoping people continue to comment, and I will continue to follow the fan comments and reactions to the trailer. I am certainly curious, and I am sure there are things we as developers can glean." — Eiji Aonuma He's also paying attention to our reactions, specifically reactions about a female Link. I believe he may even add the option in at some point based off the reactions here. Many were hopeful for the option, others were very upset, giving misogynist remarks as to why Link can only be male. Tails 6,692 Posted June 12, 2014 (edited) Aonuma says Zelda U will be playable at next year's E3 event: Eiji Aonuma has told Nintendo fans on Miiverse that The Legend of Zelda Wii U will be playable at next year’s E3 event. The information shouldn’t come as too big a surprise as the title is slated for a 2015 release. The information was posted in Japanese, but Aonuma neglected to mention it in the English translation. Here’s what he roughly said via Google Translate. “Because I think the E3 of next year, would like to be able to play in practice, please stay tuned.” Source: http://mynintendonews.com/2014/06/12/aonuma-says-zelda-wii-u-will-be-playable-at-next-years-e3-event/#comments Edited June 12, 2014 by Tails 1 Exiblade7 reacted to this

Hero of Winds 2,576 Posted June 14, 2014 The entire Zelda Community in a single post: https://miiverse.nintendo.net/posts/AYMHAAACAADMUKlyvepIkw?fb_ref=scfbp I'm with Nate Janc here. I really can't stand the Zelda community anymore since they never see the problems in a game, but when it comes to art style, they complain about the graphics which is a whole other thing in itself. Some people get it right, but they still dun give the art style a chance. That's pretty sad if you ask me, pathetic at the most.
