Pokemon: Masters' Tournament (RP Signups)

In the world of Pokemon, there are few trainers who are far above the others in terms of skill. They are known as Pokemon Masters. There are only a handful of trainers who hold this prestigious title, but they’re seen as legends for it. Many of them are given special positions, such as Gym Leaders, Elite Four membership, or even being the Champion of a region. However, despite their status, they rarely interact with each other… Now, someone has decided to invite a group of Pokemon Masters to a special island for the purpose of holding a massive tournament to see just who the best trainer in the world is. Are you up for the challenge?

Rules:

1. All characters must be currently existing Pokemon trainers. You can use a playable character (Red, Gold, etc.), a rival (Green, Wally, etc.) Elite Four member, Gym Leader, Frontier Brain, or a Champion.

2. All Pokemon in your team must initially be all catchable in their own region. Throughout the RP, you will be given opportunities to capture new Pokemon.

3. No swearing or blood.

4. Keep any romance to a PG limit, please.

5. God-modding is strictly forbidden.

6. Don’t get mad if you end up losing a battle. It’s all just a sport, after all. Don’t drag out battles, either. If you’d like to, talk with an opponent beforehand to decide who can win. Feel free to do something like a coin flip or an actual Pokemon battle to decide.

7. This will take place a year after Pokemon X/Y. Please be sure to keep that in mind. Also, in the case of Unovan characters, please go with their B2/W2 selves, since that is more recent. We’ll be going with this for the amount of years between games:

Kanto/Hoenn ->(3 yrs) Johto/Sinnoh->(3 yrs) Unova/Kalos

 

8. I will allow a maximum of three characters per RPer. However, don't push your limits if you feel that you can't do two or three.

Bio: After defeating Steven, the champion of Hoenn, May spent some time working on completing her Pokedex. After a few years, she was invited by a man named Scott to go to the Battle Frontier. Always willing to take on a challenge, she decided to go and try to defeat the Frontier Brains. Eventually, she won all of the Gold symbols. She decided to take a break from battling for a short time, and returned to her home. A few years after that, she was invited to the Masters' Tournament.

Personality: May is fairly cocky, and never backs down from a challenge. This persistence isn't always a good thing, however, as it's gotten her in a number of bad positions. She's also easy to excite.

Bio: After Silver continued to train Pokemon alone, he learned more about friendship, and compassion. After that, he decided to continue training in Kanto to learn more about his Pokemon and to form new bonds. When he was invited to the tournament, he decided to go in order to test his newly formed bonds with his Pokemon.

 

Personality: Silver is a lone wolf by nature, and somewhat harsh. He doesn't really like being around other people often, aside from Ethan and Lyra. However, he's learned to trust his Pokemon, and has very close bonds with all three of them.

It was difficult for Lyra to accept the change. Her Camerupt is pretty protective of her and the other Pokemon, and her Tropius loves to eat. 

Personality: Lyra is pretty friendly, kind and easy-going, but within the heat of battle, she can start to panic. She and her Pokemon all trust each-other, and all have a special part within each-other's lives.

Rosa decided to take up being a teacher to children about Pokemon battling, since she was asked to, after getting past the Elite Four and Champion. Since then, her battling skills have worn down, but are still okay.

Personality: Friendly, kind. Rosa never backs out from a fight, unless it's completely necessary. She shares a great bond with her Pokemon.

However, everything changed when he was beaten by the time traveling Lira. For years he had thought of himself as being one of the greatest Pokemon trainers and crime bosses to ever live, that he was a force of nature, if you will. When he was defeated by Red, he was happy to once again feel the joy of battling, but that was because deep down, he believed his loss was a fluke, a one time thing. It wasn't until he was defeated by Lira that he felt truly pathetic. Once again, he'd been brutally defeated by a mere child. What was the point of running Team Rocket again, if he was truly so weak? Surely he would simply be humiliated again. So he decided to end his legacy then and there; to live on in mystery as the crime lord who disappeared without a trace. He attempted suicide by jumping into the ocean beneath Tohjo Falls. However, before he could drown, he was saved by none other than a common Magikarp. It was then that he came to his senses. This Madgikarp was nothing special in the slightest, and yet it had bothered to save him, making it special to him. Giovanni kept the Madgikarp, and from that day on, he decided to renounce crime forever, and instead focus on caring for his Pokemon and helping others. He even helped stop rising crime organizations in Kanto and Joto over the years. Then one day, he got an invitation to the Pokemon Masters Tournament, and decided to join in order to see if he had truly become stronger since his days as a villain.

Personality: Wise and kind, although he can be stubborn and temperamental at times. A strong feeling of guilt for his past actions follows him wherever he goes, and is especially strong in the tournament, where he must interact with some of the trainers he has wronged in the past.

 

Sorry about the long Bio. I just wanted to make an interesting story for Giovanni that conformed to the lore of Pokemon.

Oh dear, it seems we've got a cannon error, with both Cheren and Hilbert having a Samurott. No matter, I'll just make a quick change so that Cheren has a Serperior instead. It would fit his character better anyway. Is that okay with you Yellow Flash?
