I haven't played any Persona games yet and, since Persona Q has characters from 3 and 4, it seems like I might appreciate it better if I knew the characters. Honestly, I've always loved Persona 4, but just recently I've started Persona 3. And man, is it AMAZING. Everyone says FES is the best version, but honestly, go with Persona 3 Portable. I've tried out both, and in the end P3P just felt better so I've stuck with it. If you're gonna get Persona 4, I'd say go for Golden version if you somehow have a Vita. If you don't, the original is okay as well. Both have really good strong points, but they have very different feels. Power Jusho 1,783 Posted June 7, 2014 (edited) if you're going to play Persona 3, play Persona 3 Portable. The combat is better in it than in P3/P3 FES. The one of my main reason I got FES on my PS3 was to play the Answer. LightningCharm 8 Posted June 7, 2014 I just finished Persona 4. Compared to 3, I thought the characters and gameplay were a big improvement, but P3 had the better atmosphere. It depends on whether you just want to beat the main storyline or complete the side missions, max out all social links, complete the compendium, etc.. Can be upwards of 70+ hours. Perhaps it's best to work on completing those other games you have first. littleTSUBAME 483 Posted June 10, 2014 I started with Persona 4 and loved it. Now I'm playing Persona 3 FES, and can't really compare the two yet... Persona 4 was amazing, and the battle system is nicer (but if you get P3P, it's said to be less annoying), but the story in Persona 3 seems more interesting to me, and darker. From my experience the social links in P4 seem more interesting, but can't really say since I'm not that far in P3 yet... ...I'd say you play them both.
