KH3D Possible KH3D Remaster For 2015? :o

Recommended Posts

Hey there everyone, how's it going?  We're all off of the heels of 2.5's release date and Kingdom Hearts 3's hell of a teaser, and there's something that I noticed while the teaser played out.  As you could all obviously notice, there were short, static clips of Dream Drop Distance thrown in there, and that made me wonder.  Is there a possibility that Dream Drop Distance will be remastered for the PS3 and release next year?  And before you say anything, no, it's not impossible, because Re:Coded is a three year old game, it came out in 2011, and it'll be included in 2.5!  Next year, Dream Drop Distance will be a three year old game as well, so I don't think it'll be a problem for Square. While I realize this may not happen, it would be cool if it did happen, so that way Square could have one more year to do the finishing touches for Kingdom Hearts 3 so that the game comes out in perfect splendor!  What do you think everyone?  Do you think there will be a remaster for the PS3 next year? :D

(Also, a note from Tom13, if you look closely, the characters shown from the clips of KH3D look in High Definition...which makes me wonder more...)

Well as much as I would like for this to happen (since I haven't actually played KH3D yet and too lazy to get a 3DS), I don't really think it will. It's possible; don't get me wrong, but I just can't see them remastering KH3D. And I just think that those scenes from the trailer were in HD so they didn't look out of place with the other HD scenes.

Peace!

Not going to happen, sorry. 3DS is newer than the PS3. Square Enix is cutting it close to the end of the PS3's life cycle as it is.

yea its pointless to do a remake of kh3d just be glad that they wont have anything else to hold back kh3 except ffxv

If it is remastered as a full game and not a simple movie, it would either be for Wii U, along the fully playable versions of the DS games, or  for the Vita, not PS3. The game relies on the touch screen for the Dream Eater thingy, plus, there is also is the portal streetpass function to think about. Though the idea of some kind of remaster coming next year, wouldn't be surprising, since if all we are getting for KHIII at E3 is something related to those voices, then the game will not be coming out on 2015, FFXV will surely take that place, so Nomura will need a game for 2015, to be able to fulfill his "one KH game per year" promise, and a collection of the KH Nintendo handheld games, for Wii U, wouldn't be surprising.

Really? Would Square remaster a cutscene of KH3D just for a 40 second teaser? IMO, KH3D HD is coming...on the ps3? Maybe not.

They upscaled a couple of clips than went for less than a second for a trailer. Very easy to do.

Isn't Persona 5 coming out in North America on PS3 in 2015? Why can't a supposed KH3D-HD do the same?

It wouldn't surprise me, but I hope they don't go in that direction. 3D is still a relatively new title and I for one am still playing it today. At this point it doesn't make sense to import it to consoles. If they did do that, then they would have to rework the game layout since there won't be a second screen on the bottom of the TV. Besides, I've waited nearly a decade for them to get KH3 out. It is not particle at this point to do another remake unless it is a last resort tactic to buy some more development time.

While Nomura does want to get it over somehow, I doubt a remaster will be it. There are about 4 things that could happen next year regarding KH:

KH3 will release (least likely; but we all wish it would)

No KH game at all (quite possible; a game a year is a hefty order to begin with)

Revival of BBS vol. 2 (I can honestly see this happening if they want to release a game a year)

A spin off title that will go into some sort of back story and screw with our heads further (Nomura's personal favorite)

Next year is the year of KH3!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lol but really from a business standpoint why remaster a game for a console that's trying to have it's plugged pulled by it's own company when the original system is still relevant and is seeming to gain more steam and attention

Nomura promised us a game a year, so surely we'll get something next year. I'm thinking they'll find a way to bring KH X[chi] to consoles or at least just localise it, because it's going to become a big part of the story, so they should probably give it to us as well. Maybe they'll throw in DDD cut scenes with that, idk. If Nomura is a man of his word, we'll get something next year.

Maybe they'll have a whole volume of both 1.5 and 2.5 along with KH:3D for the ps3 or ps4. Even more likely as they'll spend a lifetime before they release the first game in the next saga, we will get a Seeker of Darkness Chronicles Which will be: all of 1.5 and 2.5 plus Dream drop distance and KHIII into one grand game for the PS4 and XBone and the Wii-U

I would like them to make a HD version of DDD and put it in a Special Edition together with KHIII when it will come out. (But only if this won't delay KHIII any further)
