The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted June 5, 2014 Before Sora was a Keybade Wielder, flashback 10 years ago, in the Keyblade Graveyard, there were thousands, if not millions of Keyblades. So yeah, Sora and Riku weren't the only wielders, but they are indeed special in the fact that not all people have the strength of heart to wield one. It's like Squirting Demyx said, in a world populated by millions, 13-15 is a small fraction. I will agree though that Lea should have stayed with his chakrams, because for the entire series that has been his weapon! But oh well, we will see what happens when KH3 releases. Sendou Aichi 2,356 Posted June 5, 2014 Boss battles against 13 or 15 dudes with the exact same weapon as everybody else doesn't sound that epic One of the unique things about Organization XIII is that everyone has a different weapon and their fighting style intentionally represents various job classes from the Final Fantasy series if every member of Organization XIII can wield a keyblade now that will make their fighting style very similar with few differences For me that sounds more boring than epic. It's like if every FF villain in Dissidia decided to wield the same weapon as Garland Too much knock downs. 1 Dio Brando reacted to this
HarLea Quinn 26,501 Posted June 5, 2014 (edited) This complaint is old and pointless. There were ALWAYS other wielders besides one from the very first game .Nomura also said that there are as many keyblades as qualified hearts that can wield them. I feel that this is just a nitpicky useless complaint . We are about to face a freakin' KEYBLADE WAR .How lame would that be with just one or two wielders? Even Lea getting one had reasons : — Lea (Axel) ended up playing an unexpected role. I was wondering what was running through your mind when you thought to make him a Keyblade wielder. Nomura: I figured since he had returned to being human, he wouldn’t have much luck bringing back the people he wanted without some sort of power. Throwing his chakrams doesn’t really count. (Laughs.) I think it's more complicated then that. It can't just be a simple oh hey I touched a keyblade I'm going to get my own now. I think it also had to do with the persona potential and will and what not in order to wield one. For example Terra and Aqua both saw the potential that Riku had when they meet him and Aqua saw that Sora had it as well and Kairi could probably wield one because of her status as a princess of light maybe that also gave her the potential to wield one idk. The one that confusses me is Lea when did he go through the henarincd ceremony or was he just one of those cases where he didn't have to go trough one because the Keyblade saw that he was worthy idk but there isn't that many around any more so I say they are still special Yen Sid gave him the ceremony . Then the keyblade chose him. After that, he came to Yen Sid hoping to train. Nomura: Yes. Since the Mysterious Tower is in an unknown spot, first you have to enter via King Mickey’s world. After that, they’re training in a place where time flows differently, managed by Merlin, the great magician who can exceed time, as well as the Fairies. — Did he have any prior knowledge? Nomura: In order to wield a Keyblade, the most important requirement is to be “the owner of a strong heart.” Regardless if it’s a good heart or a bad heart, a strong heart is necessary. Right now there are a lot of things that Lea wants to regain. That desire is connected to the strength of his heart. SorrowSurvivor 191 Posted June 5, 2014 Remember that epic feeling of being the chosen one.....yyyyeah......apparently anyone can have a keyblade Seriously as much as I love AxelLea him getting a keyblade was borderline bullshit...HE DIDN'T EVEN NEED ONE HE WAS BADASS WITH HIS CHAKRAMS!!! This reminds me of the whole Super Saiyan case in DBZ.....at first it started as something cool and badass that only a select few can do......fast forward to the Buu saga and GT,now even the children can go super saiyan....FREAKIN GOKU JR FROM 100 YEARS AFTER GT CAN GO SUPER SAIYAN FOR SOME STUPID REASON!! Sora still is the chosen one since the Kingdom Key is special and it chose him without him doing a keyblade ceremony. Lea and Kairi clearly are going to have big roles in KH3 so it makes sense for them to have keyblades. Even if all of the new Org XIII uses keyblades each of them will still be plenty unique since they can still use their old weapons too, or have keyblade transformations or some other over-the-top abilities we normally see in KH boss battles. The series has to change to get better. If Sora was the only one with a keyblade, I think it would feel cheap. Like: "Sora only wins because he's the only one with a keyblade" but since we have both other protagonists and antagonists with keyblades, it helps emphasize the strength Sora has obtained throughout the series since he is the ONLY one who can set things right despite the fact that there are other keyblade wielders around. I would say that Riku being titled Keyblade Master is a problem. He was barely taught anything compared to the years Aqua and Terra trained under Eraqus. If the Exam hadn't been interfered with then both Sora and Riku would've been "Masters" but it I feel it should take more than that to be considered one. 6 Handsome_the_Wise, HarLea Quinn, luka and 3 others reacted to this

By that logic then the Master Sword if the Zelda series should be wielded by everyone including Ganon himself + I agree with the Riku bit
SorrowSurvivor 191 Posted June 5, 2014 By that logic then the Master Sword if the Zelda series should be wielded by everyone including Ganon himself + I agree with the Riku bit In the Zelda series the Master Sword is a one of a kind weapon but in KH we learn that the Keyblades are man made weapons meant to imitate the X-blade. In most Zelda games Link has to prove himself and go through trials before getting the Master Sword whereas Sora just had it had pop in his hand without knowing what it was. Storywise the Triforce is more like the Keyblade since the main characters(Link, Zelda, Ganon) get one just for being who they are and that is whats happening in KH just with more main characters. I guess I understand the feeling of Sora not feeling as special was in KH1 but that wasn't because he became less special in later games, it was because we learned more things about the whole story(things that the characters themselves didn't know or misinterpreted). TheFriedPopsicle 36 Posted June 5, 2014 I totally agree that too many people wield a keyblade nowadays...but maybe that was done to show that the mere fact of owning a keyblade doesn't make the wielders special anymore, but it's what the characters choose to do that sets them apart? Idk just something to think about... 1 Lalalablah reacted to this

Isamu Kuno 2,512 Posted June 5, 2014 Conditions for wielding a Keyblade1: An exceptionally strong heart.2: Physical contact with the handle of a keyblade 3: In the absence of the above two conditions, one must have memories of wielding a Keyblade, either consciously or subconsciously. On to Lea getting a Keyblade. He wanted one so he could bring back Roxas without endangering Sora. Given conditions 1 and 2 we can assume that either Mickey or Yen Sid performed the Inheritance Ceremony on Lea off screen and, according to interviews, trained to summon it in a time compressed space, but was unable to until the end of DDD. Even in KH I there were hints about the Keyblade War and past wielders. For example when King Triton confronts Sora he says "The key bearer shatters peace and brings ruin" this was a direct reference to the Keyblade War. Also, note that Triton called Sora the "key bearer" not "Keyblade Master" It just happens that those we learn the most about the Keyblade from (Leon and co.) happen to know the least about it while still being aware of it's existence. And Sora is still special in that he wielded a Keyblade 10 years after the last Keyblade Master disappeared. You could say he brought the Keyblade back. Keyblades are still a rarity especially compared to the Old World where there were millions of wielders. While there may be many Chosen Wielders of the Keyblade now there are currently only 3 active Keyblade masters. And, as for all members of Neo Organization 13 being psudo-wielders, in order to summon it they must be fully possessed by Master Xehanort and it is unknown at this time whether or not he needs to be nearby in order to do this. In addition, it seems like he can only take full possession of one vessel at a time. And let us not forget that Keyblades are transforming weapons and that this mechanic is being taken even farther in KH3 then it was in BbS so whose to say each member will not change their Keyblades shape to something that fits their personal tastes? Exiblade7 1,917 Posted June 5, 2014 (edited) I won't be surprised if everybody in the true organization gets a keyblade because this keyblade thing is like a virus that infects everybody. It has already infected kairi and Lea. I wonder who's next? Edited June 5, 2014 by Zeldablade7

Isaix 924 Posted June 5, 2014 It doesn't really bother me.Since the first game Kingdom Key was not the only Keyblade,Riku and Mickey also had their Keyblade,so its no suprise if other can have Keyblades as well,as long as the keyblade wielders have their own style and unique powers,as long as Donald,Goofy and the Final Fantasy characters don't have Keyblades I'm cool with it. juma086 263 Posted June 5, 2014 Personally, I like it better this way. I don't like stories where there's a "chosen one" and he/she does everything by themselves. I like how other people are rising up to meet a common goal and the Keyblade is sort of a necessary weapon to efficiently fight the heartless, and most enemies in general. In order for Axel/Lea to become a part of this, he would need a Keyblade. It doesn't really make sense for Sora, Donald, and Goofy to take on the entire Organization by themselves. Philip Ellwell 5,487 Posted June 5, 2014 Just Sora and Riku were okay, and since Roxas and Xion are parts of Sora, of course they can too, and the BBS gang were people from the past so I was okay with them... but JESUS, EVERYBODY HAS ONE NOW! Minnie doesn't.
catmaster0116 2,676 Posted June 6, 2014 Exactly,in KH1,KH CoM and KH2 they kept hammering us with"the keyblade chosen one" over and over again and emphasized that point so much that you'd think only few people other than Sora will get it like Roxas,Mickey and Riku As for the whole master thing I think it was used in KH1 so much because they weren't planning to make other wielders until Nomura decided to retcon that to create Birth by Sleep Yup. Theres also that time gap between BBS and KH1. Knowing Square Enix and Tetsuya Nomura, anything could have happened in that decade. Its like all Keyblade Wielders suddenly became extinct after BBS and then Sora pops up in KH1 as a Keyblade Wielder...if only that could happen with the extinct animals of the world.
