Remember back when being a Keyblade wielder was something special?

Recommended Posts

I really dislike the fact that so many people can wield keyblades now. I could deal with Riku and Roxas. Kairi was upsetting but I got over it. Everyone else though, I think that's too much.Same with the whole idea of a keyblade master just being one who wields the keyblade

Kairi was like " Weeee, I got's Keyblade , woo!" Then off she goes flinging the damn thing around.

No skill.

And no one make this sexist: imagine if PENCE had gotten a Keyblade?

Same idea.

Just Sora and Riku were okay, and since Roxas and Xion are parts of Sora, of course they can too, and the BBS gang were people from the past so I was okay with them... but JESUS, EVERYBODY HAS ONE NOW!

There is currently what about what.....13-15 keyblade wielders? Compare that to the hundreds of populated worlds. There isn't many keyblade wielders out there.

Lets look at the definition of special.

better, greater, or otherwise different from what is usual.

and then the deinition of usual

habitually or typically occurring or done; customary.

Basically someone special is someone who is different from what is the typical norm. So being a keyblade wielder is still special. Because 13-15 keyblade wielders out of millions of people is still different from the norm.

Also, even since KH1 it has been hinted that there are other keyblade wielders. Sora wasn't even more "special" than Riku in the first place. Seeing how Riku was the one who was chosen by the keyblade in the first place. Even though we didnt seen there other keyblade wielders right away. We still knew there were 2 keyblade wielders.

Seriously this argument is getting old. -__-

13-15 people out of millions is nowhere near everyone people. sheeeeeeeeeeesh

If you counted Vanitas and the new Organization XIII which Xehanort intends to make them use keyblades...that'll make the number around 26

And we're not talking about one wielder per world so I don't know what point does the worlds count bring to this

And by chosen one I mean the keyblade wielder who's connected with freakin Kingdom Hearts which makes Sora infinitely more special than Riku

Will it make sense to have the one of a kind legendary Excalibur sword to suddenly clone itself and be wielded by hundreds of soldiers?

At least when giving the keyblade to someone .HAVE IT MAKE SENSE!

AxelLea never needed a keyblade in the first place nor does him getting one add anything to the plot

The way Kairi got her keyblade was borderline bullshit(Seriously just by touching?REALLY?Will gee I can have a handshake with Aqua and I'll have my own keyblade) and giving Kairi a keyblade was pointless as her role was already cemented as the damsel in distress and I have a feeling that in KH3 she will get kidnapped again

The keyblade was supposed to be a rarity after the keyblade war,not a common weapon.

This is just as ridiculous as Goku Jr after 100 years of GT turning into Super Saiyan.

I brought up the number of worlds to point out how many people exist  in the kh universe. When you compare how many people are in the kh universe who dont have keyblades to those who do. It is rare. Even if you count the 13 darknesses.

We are talking kh. not anything with excalibur. 2 different universes 2 different rules.

Lea fealt like he needed a keyblade.

I'm not even gonna talk about Kairi.

Like I said the keyblade is a rarity.

How is it a rarity when literally anyone can get it?

Kairi got one just by an accidental touch and Lea got it out of absolute nowhere

Plotwise,LeaAxel never needed a keyblade at all,he was fine with his chakrams

and Gameplay wise it'll make for boring boss battles if all members of Organization XIII(according to Xehanort's plan) will be able to wield a keyblade

I can excuse Riku,Roxas and Xion cuz they had their own legit reasons for getting one

But Kairi and Lea should've never got one

Not anyone can get it a keyblade. A few people out of (most likely) millions of people in the kh universe. Makes it pretty damn rare.

Plotwise, apprently lea needed a keyblade. Because he has one and we haven't played kh3 yet to see what he needs it for.

Gameplay wise it seems pretty epic to fight against people with the most powerful weapon in the universe.

Boss battles against 13 or 15 dudes with the exact same weapon as everybody else doesn't sound that epic

One of the unique things about Organization XIII is that everyone has a different weapon and their fighting style intentionally represents various job classes from the Final Fantasy series

if every member of Organization XIII can wield a keyblade now that will make their fighting style very similar with  few differences

For me that sounds more boring than epic. It's like if every FF villain in Dissidia decided to wield the same weapon as Garland

Remember that epic feeling of being the chosen one.....yyyyeah......apparently anyone can have a keyblade

Seriously as much as I love AxelLea him getting a keyblade was borderline bullshit...HE DIDN'T EVEN NEED ONE HE WAS BADASS WITH HIS CHAKRAMS!!!

This reminds me of the whole Super Saiyan case in DBZ.....at first it started as something cool and badass that only a select few can do......fast forward to the Buu saga and GT,now even the children can go super saiyan....FREAKIN GOKU JR FROM 100 YEARS AFTER GT CAN GO SUPER SAIYAN FOR SOME STUPID REASON!!

Red Tribal, I'm paranoid that you're lurking in the corners of my house somewhere

This has been the topic that my younger brother and I have been talking about for the past 3 days.

Sadly the fact that keyblade wielders are popping up left and right is also the reason why my brother no longer is a KH fan.

"Sora used to be Special"....when Roxas dual wielded it was pretty awesome

when Riku and Kairi got one it became 'meh'

and then came BBS...now the end result: "Even my grandma has a Keyblade", so much for being 'the chosen wielder of the keyblade'

also I think the term 'Keyblade Master' or 'master of the Keyblade' was carelessly used throughout KH1

They decided to use the terms 'Hero of the Keyblade in the games post KH1.

Exactly,in KH1,KH CoM and KH2 they kept hammering us with"the keyblade chosen one" over and over again and emphasized that point so much that you'd think only few people other than Sora will get it like Roxas,Mickey and Riku

As for the whole master thing I think it was used in KH1 so much because they weren't planning to make other wielders until Nomura decided to retcon that to create Birth by Sleep

We don't know how it's going to go. But I doubt it's going to be what you think it is.

I think it's more complicated then that. It can't just be a simple oh hey I touched a keyblade I'm going to get my own now. I think it also had to do with the persona potential and will and what not in order to wield one. For example Terra and Aqua both saw the potential that Riku had when they meet him and Aqua saw that Sora had it as well and Kairi could probably wield one because of her status as a princess of light maybe that also gave her the potential to wield one idk. The one that confusses me is Lea when did he go through the henarincd ceremony or was he just one of those cases where he didn't have to go trough one because the Keyblade saw that he was worthy idk but there isn't that many around any more so I say they are still special
