KHLegendIII 709 Posted May 31, 2014 Hajime Tabata has posted new development updates in regards to "Final Fantasy XV" and "Final Fantasy Type-0." According to a report from Explosion on May 21, the co-director at Square Enix revealed that his development team is currently prioritizing the 15th numbered installment of the franchise. As a result, future releases of the "Type-0" series have been put on the backburner. Hajime Tabata disclosed that the production for "Final Fantasy XV" is progressing well. In fact, the development team is currently working on the graphics engine along with building the gameplay at the same time. He concluded his comments by revealing that the project is currently entering a vital stage. Square Enix is expected to provide more details on the video game, along with other software products, at next month's Electronic Entertainment Expo. You can find the comments made by the co-director in regards to both titles below (courtesy of Sq Ex Info): Final Fantasy XV comes first. The other day I participated in an official announcement as Co. Director, but the Type-0 team was all there with me, and development is progressing well. Hereafter the engine development and game development side are coming along steadily and it’s breaking into an important phase. Before co-directing "Final Fantasy XV," Hajime Tabata was the main director of "Final Fantasy Type-0." The portable software product came out first on Oct. 27, 2011, in Japan. Although many fans expected the role-playing title to be translated in North America, the localization never came. However, some enthusiasts are releasing a translation patch for players that have a PSP system with custom firmware. Sony Computer Entertainment previously held a campaign where fans can vote for a Japanese role-playing game to be translated to English for the Vita. Despite strong support, "Final Fantasy Type-0" ultimately lost out to "Tales of Hearts R." Square Enix has remained silent on whether or not the sin-off "Final Fantasy" title will ever be brought over to North America. On the other hand, the company has already confirmed the "Final Fantasy XV" is coming to the west. A previous leak suggested that the localization process have already begun, which should shorten the gap between the Japanese and western launches.
