Weedanort 8,786 Posted May 31, 2014 (edited) I'm not sure if this should even be discussed here, but heck, if it gets removed, it gets removed I've been smoking for quite some time now (almost 5 years), and I know it is bad for me. I am well aware of the consequences (I know that this may be bashed ), but I'm already addicted, and I don't know wether I'll stop or not. I wanted to hear you opinions about this, so shoot them out Edited May 31, 2014 by Weedanort
Cucco 1,907 Posted May 31, 2014 Stop now, it's going to be agonizing but if you want to stay alive longer than stop. One method I heard was to have one less cigarette every day, so eventually you get disgusted with it or something. My grandfather has a multitude of problems from smoking as long as he has, and its best to stop now before you're really addicted for good like him. 5 Weedanort, Killua0707, Amber Cole and 2 others reacted to this

Usually when I get stressed due to personall issues, I tend to smoke a lot. I mean a very lot. But when things calm down, I usually smoke around 3-5 ciggaretes a day. And I know it's still a lot
Sora96 17,256 Posted May 31, 2014 My opinion is if you smoke that's your problem, just keep it away from me and other people who don't want to smell the stuff. 1 RikuFangirl2008 reacted to this

And I know it's still a lot Yeah, just smoke one less cigarette every couple days and have someone else keep the cigarette you're limiting from yourself away from you. I would look into this method more(or other methods) because I don't completely remember it. Not too long ago my grandfather had an open heart surgery that was pretty devastating, and it was because of smoking. A lot of older people in the U.S. smoke, and most of them have problems of some sort. Not to mention food is supposed to taste better when you're not smoking. 1 Weedanort reacted to this
Weedanort 8,786 Posted May 31, 2014 Have you tried electric cigarettes? They're too expensive here My opinion is if you smoke that's your problem, just keep it away from me and other people who don't want to smell the stuff. That's why I usually go to bars that allow people to smoke inside, people that don't smoke usually don't enter them.
Cucco 1,907 Posted May 31, 2014 Have you tried electric cigarettes? Those don't help anyone, they are just a substitute that will never help you get off of it. Both of my grandparents use that and they still smoke, though one is a little better about it than the other.
Nick Sideris 1,551 Posted May 31, 2014 Well ,I think we have already discussed about that in the chat thingy, haven't we ? So I guess you already know my point of view . 1 Weedanort reacted to this

Cucco 1,907 Posted May 31, 2014 Wait so you smoke tobacco instead of weed? Not living up to your username weedanort. (but yeah, I would listen to Cucco on this one) I know you were joking random, but Weedanort, if weed is legal in your country I would just use that. It's much better for you than cigarettes and smoking it should by itself take away the desire to have a cig. Just don't take the two together, that might be a very bad combination. Though even if weed is not legal, synthetic marijuana might be. Don't take that stuff, it's like meth.

Tobacco here is expensive as it is (4€ for 20 ciggaretes), but weed is much higher 1 Cucco reacted to this
Geotrix 862 Posted May 31, 2014 My mum smokes. I don't hold it against anyone. I've never personally tried since I don't really wanna start smoking. But if people do then it's their own choice, it has its risks sure, but as long as you do it in your own privacy and not around anyone else who doesn't like smoking then it's alright. Caity 3,946 Posted May 31, 2014 I'm not anti-smoking, I smoke (sure it's not tobacco but still), my only stance is don't do it around children for any type of smoking since they're generally too young to go leave the room while someone has a puff (though doesn't any decent human go outside to smoke when there's kids in the house?) Regardless it shouldn't be whether you should stop or not, it's more of whether or not you can. We can all have good intentions, going to the gym, quitting smoking, drinking, bucking strangers, stop impregnating everyone, what matters is whether or not you have the will power to do so, and all you can do it try. Meant to be much easier after the first 2 weeks. Don't know about the USA(assume that's where you are, since almost every here is) but shops here no longer display cigarettes because it's tempting to those who quit who are out buying stuff to see a big wall of them behind the till 1 Silent reacted to this
Philip Ellwell 5,487 Posted May 31, 2014 It's terrible. I've lost half my family to smoking, and I find it nasty and a vice that should be illegial. i'm sorry if you find this offensive, and maybe it's my brittle asthma talking, but smoking is the worst thing humankind ever inflicted upon its self. I'm done. 3 Amber Cole, _The Door To Light_ and Killua0707 reacted to this
OmegaForte 1,674 Posted May 31, 2014 My opinion is if you smoke that's your problem, just keep it away from me and other people who don't want to smell the stuff.Pretty much this. Sadly a few are too firetrucking lazy to go outside and smoke, but stand near a window across my aptarpment to smoke. I have to turn on the fan and open the door to get the smell out. I won't talk to them because then arguments would follow and I ain't got time for that. (The door open should be enough of a message to smoke someplace else..) They don't bother other people and don't contain tobacco. They still have nicotine, but nicotine isn't dangerous, just addicting.

Saber Lily 1,543 Posted May 31, 2014 Break the habit. Seriously, Leonard Nemoy has a multitude of problems from 30 years of smoking. He's been clean for awhile but even then they caught up with him. As someone who sells hundreds of dollars worth of cigarettes a day (I work at a convenience store) and I see people get so many cigs...just quit the habit man. The cost of cigs alone should make you wanna quit.
_The Door To Light_ 1,507 Posted May 31, 2014 An awful, awful, habit. Too many lives have been lost from it. My grandfather had passed away from complications due to smoking, and my grandmother had passed away from cancer due to the second-hand smoke. And I can't be around smoke without coughing up a lung. I understand it can be tough to quit, but at least have some regards to the people around you. It does't take much to move outside.
Weedanort 8,786 Posted May 31, 2014 I never said I smoke inside the house owo I usually smoke in the exterior balcony, or outside.
