KH2 Beating Sephiroth?

Recommended Posts

I was just wondering what level (currently at 53, soon to be 54 level wise) would be best to have Sora before attempting to defeat him and what keyblade is best. I am one item away from being able to make the Ultima Weapon, which is actually annoying me, because I don't know if there's a specific enemy that you need to defeat in order to obtain the item(s). Below are the missing items that I need:

Orichalcum: 8 more

Serenity Crystal: 5 more

Is the Ultima Weapon really handy in defeating Sephiroth? Which level do you recommend before going up against him?

Thank you very much for your time.

You can get orichalum from the vending machine heartless, i think the serenity crystals come from a nobody (not sure which one).

tip-have all forms fully leveled so you can get the level 3 abilities

I was lv.90 before i could beat him but you may be a better than me at fighting

I defeated him with the Kingdom Key at about level 60. It's pretty important that you have the abilities Guard, Guard Break, Counterattack, Explosion, Double Jump (maybe), Glide (maybe), High Jump (probably), Finisher Plus, Once More/Second Chance, that attack that lets you attack and Ariel Recovery at the same time, and Dodge Slash is nice too. Also, any and all Combo and Air Combo Plusses are needed to get as much damage on him as possible.

Be sure to prepare for a Reaction Command at the beginning of the battle. After that, always approach him. He'll try to attack you with a large combo. Guard it, and use Counterattack the moment your Guard finishes. He'll still be attacking, but Counterattack keeps you from recieving damage, and stops the rest of his combo. Finish your combo and back off. Repeat this as nececarry. Occasionally, he'll try to uppercut you into the air. If you can't block it, counter him while in the air before he get's his next attack off, and get a good combo on him.

For the second phase, the strategy is pretty much the same. He'll summon shadow orbs around you that will damage you after a few seconds. Use Firaga or Reflect to do away with them. When he prepares to use Heartless Angel, use High Jump and Double Jump to reach and stop him. If you don't have them equiped, keep an Elixer at bay.

For his final phase, keep everything you've already done in mind. Guarding is essential, as he's faster and more unpredictable than ever. When he rises in the air and summons a bunch of meteors, use your High Jump, Double Jump, and Glide Abilities to dodge them. If you don't have them, RUN!!!

Use Curaga and Elixers when needed, and you can take this guy down without needing the almighty Ultima Weapon, or abusing Reflect.

Note: Don't think using this strategy will make it easy. It isn't. It's still freaking hard. You will probably die. But this will get you by if your using KK and don't want to use Reflect every 2 seconds, like me. Plus, it provides a good challenge, and you feel awesome after finally defeating him.

Ok so you want to know the best way to beat him right. Well I will tell you want you need. First I would say to be at least lv 60, it might even work at lv 58, so you need to level up some more. Second I would have have at least three elixiers. Third have the second Chance and Once More Abilities. Fourth have all you forms leveled up to the max, Fifth make sure Sora's Limit command is on. Sixth for your keyblade, use the Fetal Crest not the Ultima Weapon because you can do endless combos. Once you got all that then you call challenge him. Now when the match starts block his first move, then use your Limit on him, then right after your limit is over just attack him as much as you can before him goes away. Then just keep targeting him while flying around wait for your mp to come back so you can use your limit again. But if you are almost dead use one of your elixier's then use your limit again. Now when he rises up and says Sin Heartless Angel try to get to him before he does his attack, if you cant make it to him then be ready to use another Elixier for as soon as he is done with that, your MP will be gone and you will have only 1 HP left so what you do, is use one of your Elixier's then use your limit again. You should beat him. After you beat him go to Cloud in the shopping area, remember where you started at. After you talk to him go back to Sephiroth to see a awesome video and then you get a new Keyblade. I hope everything I told you helps.

Its not really the level that matters. It's mostly your ability to dodge, guard, and hit and run. I beat him at level 46 with the kingdom key. As long as you can block his attacks and run when you need to, you'll be fine. Otherwise, like the other i would suggest around Lv. 60.

I beat him at level 33 with the kingdom key, no reflect, no cure or items (wouldnt matter he killed me one hit) no abilities other than scan, etc... I've beaten the game probably 20 times..... The key is to get good at dodging, but never let up on him. You gotta keep hitting him or he'll cast the ridiculous stuff on you

Thank you very much for your help. All of you guys, really. I'll keep everyone's advice in mind. ^_^ In order to level up the forms, you just have to fight under the form you wanna level up, right? About how long does that take, usually? I've been trying to level them up since I first got the forms and one of them is still level 2 and the others are still level 1. X_X

I was lv 70 when I beat Sephiroth. I recommend to have all ur forms to at least lv 4. I didn't use Ultumia Weapon to beat him. Use guard a lot. And also guide will be useful and equip a lot of elixirs and alll that when u run out of MP

this is a very good strategy for defeating him, and one thing

DO NOT EQUIP BESERKER AS AN ABILITY! IF YOU DO, YOU WILL NEVER HAVE FREQUENT OPPORTUNITIES TO DEFEAT HIM SINCE IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANY MAGIC POINTS LEFT, YOU WILL NEVER HAVE A FINISHING COMBO...I made that mistake one time when I was fighting him.
