"That took longer than I thought," Raiden added impatiently, turning back around. He was trying very hard to keep the nerves at the thought of going back at bay, moving from one foot to the other. He felt that, had he done what he felt like, which was pacing nervously around the cave, she just MIGHT have noticed.

Eliza looked at him, raising an eyebrow. "Are you okay?" she asked. After a moment, she had thought of something. "I know," she added, "the caves can be quite creepy. It took me awhile to get used to them." Scratching the back of her head for a second, she headed for the portal at the back of the room.

"...Yeah, sure. Caves. Let's go with that," he mumbled, staring off at the walls, half in a trance. Raiden trailed after her, stopping awkwardly near to the portal and turning back, staring somewhat longingly at the real world- after all, who knows when he'd get to see it again...?

I wonder if Mr.I-Don't-Believe-Your-Ways is slacking off? Eliza thought bitterly. .... Oh, dangit, I should have locked the windows! Before she fully entered the portal, she looked back at Raiden. She noticed his strange (step-dad made me forget the word Dx). "Hey," she said, "you coming...?"

(You. Read. My. Mind. I was all set to have Will ass his way in when they went through the portal. :'D)

 

"Uh, y-yeah..." Raiden managed to spit out, semi-consciously hugging his waist as he turned back, stepping through into the portal. He glanced back, just one more time, then sighed and carried on through the portal. "It's nothing. Just daydreaming."

Eliza looked at him seriously for a moment. Then, she shrugged as she walked in the portal as well.

Bio: s'Arina had died about five months prior to the plot. She died in an accident that was caused by human flaws. Now, with grudges held, she wants to rule all so things cannot be ruined by simple mistakes.

Other: She is in no way related to Raiden.

(She is in no way related to Raiden. All these dead types look the same nowadays, kids.... -grumble- -wheeze- :'D)

(And HAHA, in charges the ass! ...Literally.)

 

As Raiden stepped out into the familiar setting of the netherworld, he was taken off guard when an arm was pulled around his neck, nearly choking him. As highly strung as he had made himself by that point, he cried out.

Will only tightened his hold on Raiden, cutting off the yelp, and moved back, yanking Raiden after him so there was a good few feet between them and Eliza.

"How dumb can you possibly get, Eliza? Sheltering the enemy- it's not even human anymore!" Will snapped, keeping his hold even though Raiden was trying desperately to slip it, tugging hard with both hands at the arm pressed against his throat.

Eliza turned around to see Will holding Raiden in a headlock. "Will! Let him go!" she shouted. She noticed that he was keeping distance between them, so she didn't step forward. Considering the situation, she couldn't really do anything. See? Exactly what I mean, she thought. It's already starting off to be a terrible day!

 

Meanwhile, in the Warcadia realm, the sinister s'Arina was doing the absolute Azula bad guy thing, which was sit on a grand chair with her legs crossed, looking upon the destruction before her. "What a beautiful realm," she stated. "I can't wait to make the other realms, and the other world, as charming as this one."

Will scowled at her, tugging back hard enough that Raiden lost his footing, making the other boy scramble in the dirt to try and stay standing properly. "Why should I? It's part Folk! And you were stupid enough to let it stay at your house! Are you REALLY that stupid?!"

"No! You're the one that's being really stupid right now!" In a haste, she summoned Ascidia, a barrier Folk. It appeared between Raiden and Will and casted a barrier, separating the two for a certain amount of time.

 

Still sitting there, s'Arina looked up as she sensed something. "Well, well," she said as she smirked once more, "a few dirty souls have come to destroy my land." Standing up, she slid on her cape (because all awesome bad guys have awesome capes). About five feet in front of her, she conjured up her own portal.

Frustrated, Will cussed and smacked out at the barrier, glaring at Raiden through it.

"How am I being stupid? Eliza, the kid is dead already! I'm surprised you're not dead yourself yet!" he ranted, gesturing accusingly at the other boy.

Raiden, having lost his balance when the barrier knocked them apart, picked himself up off the floor, rubbing a hand at his neck with a wince.

"Then how is he walking?" Eliza questioned. She was entirely missing the point.

 

Before entering the portal, s'Arina looked over at her throne. She walked back to it to pick up her whip. Petting the whip, treasuring it, she mumbled, "All will tremble into righteousness under my feet." She turned back to the portal and approached it.

Will groaned in frustration, smacking the palm of his hand into his forehead. "Didn't Evany lecture it all at you?! People die, they don't pass on right, and we get freaks like that," he jabbed a finger at Raiden accusingly, "wandering around and causing trouble. And by the looks of it, taking advantage of you!"

"Well... uh..." Eliza began. It's not only that she didn't know what to say, but something was bothering her. A strange presence... She looked back to see a portal that wasn't supposed to be there.

s'Arina stepped out of the artificial portal. Rolling her shoulder in a counter-clockwise way, she sighed, "I really prefer not to travel via portals, but I certainly smelled a nasty stench, that I had to come see immediately." She glanced up at them, smirking.

Raiden stumbled a few steps backwards, away from both s'Arina and Will, expression a confused scowl. He reached for his dagger- he wouldn't normally have tried to get away or defend himself at first, but gettiing grabbed by Will on top of what he had to face from his father had him set on edge.

 

"That's harsh. And I washed yesterday, too. It must be you, Eliza- did you forget to use soap again?" said Will.

"Will you shut up?!" Eliza shouted at Will before looking back at s'Arina, who was laughing.

"No no, all humans smell disgusting," she stating. "They are an abomination." She snapped out her whip, which flashed a hint of fire because she's Azula. "It's time to clean out the closet."

"Eliza, your Folk's stupid barrier is preventing me from saving your sorry, apparently stinky ass right now," Will pointed out calmly, rocking from the heels to the balls of his feet as he spoke, growing impatient.

 

Raiden, in a split-second flash of what was either courage or stupidity, stepped between s'Arina and Eliza, putting himself between them to shield the latter. "They're not causing any trouble, though! They're-" he glanced at Will, and rethought the statement. "Eliza's an innocent here!"

"It fades away after a few seconds," Eliza argued with Will, even though she was pretty sure that they were supposed to fade away a second later.

s'Arina scoffed, "Innocent as they may be, it's their stupidity that makes what poor creatures they are." She paused, peering at Raiden. "You're just like me." Smirking, she continued, "So, what pathetic human caused your death?"

"Well, how am I supposed to know?! I don't use the stupid summons, they just waste time!" Will argued, crossing his arms stubbornly over his chest.

 

Raiden hesitated for a moment, then narrowed his eyes at s'Arina, glaring as furiously as he could. "...My father wasn't human when he decided I didn't deserve to be alive. He was... already like we are now. So don't give them any crap for being human."

"Hmph, no matter," s'Arina stated as she closed her eyes. "You stand in my way. I can't kill you, but I can certainly move you out of the way." Snapping her whip, she shot fire directly at Raiden.

Despite arguing with Will, Eliza noticed this. In a haste, she summoned Ascidia again to block the whiff of fire.

s'Arina sighed, "No matter," as she prepared another attack.

Raiden half turned, glancing back at Eliza. "Get your messenger friend and get out of here. I can't die here- you can, Eliza, so get going." He gripped his dagger, it occuring to him what a small little blade it really was, and if he could stop s'Arina at all...

Will scoffed. "I'm not her friend-"

"Shut up and go!" Raiden yelled at him, taking his attention off of s'Arina for a moment to send a glare at Will.

Eliza frowned. She really didn't want to, but death wasn't exactly her friend at the moment, and she didn't want to face it. "... Let's go," she finally said. Not even wanting to bother to Will's complaints, she went ahead and pushed him into the portal.

s'Arina stared at the portal for a moment. "Pity," she said. "No matter, though. I'll get them when I become stronger." She looked at Raiden. "Until then, I can go ahead and toy with you." She snapped her whip again, sending fire at him.

"It's probably some trick," Will announced after a few moment's silence, after they went through the portal. "The kid is fooling you into thinking it's all some big heroic thing when actually he's shacking up with that chick or something. How could you let one of them into your house, after what happened to Evany the other night?!" Will carried on with his lecture, ignorant as to whether Evany might be a sore spot with Eliza.

 

Dodging backwards, and wincing as the blistering heat still brushed against the arm he threw up to defend his face, Raiden found his footing properly for a split second before charging at s'Arina, attempting to keep a current flowing through his weapon arm as he swung out at her.

"Will you just shut up!?" Eliza outbursted at him. "I'm so sick and tired of you and your foul mouth!" After a moment to calm down a little, she sighed, saying, "I'm not as stereotypic as you are. I'm going to find the thing that killed Evany, and when I do, I'm going to hurt him as much as I possibly. When I do, I might hurt him some more, until something happens that'll kill him off."

 

s'Arina merely jumped back. With the flick of her wrist, the whip wrapped around Raiden's wrist. Tsking, she tugged the whip, tossing Raiden the other way.

"Oh yeah? And then what?" Will snapped, dropping the attempt at talking down to her as his frustration boiled over. "They're all freaks of nature! They're all causing this imbalance! So we might as well start trying to find a way to kill them off for good, and it would be a good start-" he jabbed a finger at her- "if idiots like YOU weren't screwing around!"

 

Thrown off course and off balance, Raiden dropped to one knee, trying to ignore the pain from where the whip had caught his wrist. Without trying to stand up, thinking he would waste time and make himself even more open to attack, he threw the dagger the best he could at s'Arina.
