Kingdom Hearts III, Disney, and Marvel

As some of you may or may not be aware, today Disney announced the inclusion of Marvel figurines for their popular game Disney Infinity. Since I can't help but think of Kingdom Hearts with everything involving Disney, I was reminded of what Nomura said in an interview...

"Finaland & FFDream: With the acquisition of Marvel and LucasArts by Disney, could you imagine adding some kind of stuff from these licenses in the game? 

Tetsuya Nomura: (laughs) Of course, it would be great if we could add those licenses as well. But there are lots of rules and restrictions by Disney so we can’t actually put in everything people want, so it’s quite a difficult decision, but we’re gonna prepare some surprises for you, so just wait for the information."

This topic isn't about whether you want to see Marvel in Kingdom Hearts or not (there are PLENTY of threads for this already). My question is what you think the likelihood of Marvel's inclusion in Kingdom Hearts III is. This Disney Infinity announcement seems to imply that Marvel doesn't mind sharing an arena with Mickey, Nomura appears to be open to the idea, Disney loves to cross pollinate its franchises, and Kingdom Hearts would by far reach a wider audience than Disney Infinity can. So what restrictions would there be?

Regardless of my strong, very strong, feelings on this subject, I cannot say it's impossible. But let us remember that even though they were the ones who suggested it, Disney initially had so little faith in KH that they didn't want their mascot involved at all. Square had to fight tooth and nail to even give Mickey that cameo at the end. Even though their initial doubts have subsided, they still seem reluctant to promote the series as they have nothing related to it in either the Disney store (at least they didn't last time I was there. AL doesn't have any) or the theme parks unless there happens to be a new entry nearing and even then, the displays are only put in the Japanese branches. So they may also be resistant to putting such newly acquired licenses in the games until they have had more time to flourish under their name.

 

Disney Infinity is a safe starting point because it is not co-owned by another company, unlike KH so they may want to wait a while before blending them with that particular franchise.

Maybe a secret boss fight or something like that. Anything else would be over the top IMO. I don't think Marvel or Star Wars fits in Disney/Final Fantasy stuff.

I don't really know much about Marvel but I think it's highly likely since not only would plenty of fans like it but more importantly having these characters show up in KH3 commercials and trailers would surely create some hype and draw in people who don't know the series; Especially with how popular The Avengers are.

 

In terms of the story they could just be thrown in a new KH original world and for flashier characters like the Hulk they could be put in the Coliseum or be used as summons.

And, Amazing Spider Man (1) as a world and, probally Thor as well.
