xblade85 13 Posted April 29, 2014 Generation 2 because you get to play through johto and Kanto and collect 16 badges instead of just 8 2 Shulk and Aaron reacted to this
r0xass 79 Posted April 29, 2014 Agree with XBlade, I just love the retro sprites too, but 6th Gen is pretty cool too actually

Dio Brando 5,810 Posted April 29, 2014 Did you like the sequel concept? it's not because of the sequel,it's because Black and White 2 added so much content and fixed a lot of stuff in the series I've spent over 150 hours playing Black and White 2,it has so much content, from all the legendaries you can catch to the Pokemon World Tournament, which helped me to get into competitive battling later,to the sidequests....etc it was so much fun for me Black and White 2 is my second favorite video game with the first being FF6 1 Jilly Shears reacted to this

Jilly Shears 2,144 Posted April 29, 2014 The Gen 2 games used to be my favorite up until Black / White were released. There was just so much overall improvement compared to how broken RBY was, the inclusion of the time system, the passing of the combined Special stat, the addition of items, the birth of move combos, breeding, the better instrumentation of the music, the 2 regions... everything. The added Pokemon in the Johto dex complement the Kanto one so well that I wish the other games' monster design could compare to how "together" the first 251 feel. Gen 5 is my favorite overall just because it's an amazing reboot of the games, and I'm sure it's the games RBY wished it were.
OmegaForte 1,674 Posted April 29, 2014 Would have been RSE if it weren't for BW existing. The story wins by far the best one out of all. Sad to see that not many Pokemon fans gave a shit about the story and/or some blinded by nostalgia skipped BW 1/2. 1 Jilly Shears reacted to this

The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted April 29, 2014 I love Gen III because all of the Pokémon look amazing, and the Hoenn region is my favorite of all the regions in the series. I really hope a 3D remake of the R/S/E games releases for the 3DS! Seriously, seeing Hoenn in 3D would be amazing, and not to mention the Pokémon contests, another feature I loved about the Gen III games! 1 Dinonugget reacted to this
Shana09 5,769 Posted April 29, 2014 Generation I was really the worst for me. I found it boring, it wasn't that special. Pokémon Yellow was my first and even that wasn't that special to me. But it was good for an ordinary game about adventuring with your Pokémon. I liked some of the OST, and I did like the characters, mainly because of the Anime though. Generation II was really good! I found it better and thought it was an improvement over Generation I. The OST was nice, the story was alright, the gameplay was great, and I liked the characters. Generation III was really fun, it used to be my favourite before Generation V. The OST was really good, the story was a bit better than Generation II and the gameplay was nicer. I loved the characters and I thought it was a pretty fun game because of them. The Pokémon were also very amazing and they still look the best till this very Generation. Generation IV was a mixed feeling. I liked the story a lot now thinking about it, it was more mythological. The OST was really great and the characters and the gameplay was perfection! But for some reason, I just thought they could've improved or make it better. Platinum was an improvement though. Generation V has the best plot so far, the Pokémon aren't bad but then again I do love all the Pokémon in the games to a certain extent, the music was really nice, the characters I actually care about and the ending was fantastic for Pokémon game. OH and the rival team is just amazing. I like story. Generation VI was more fun in terms of gameplay and it looks pretty, the story though was pretty bland, or at least bland after BW's plot. They should've made your rival-friends more important and let you get to know them more, but I think they did a nice job with Shauna. Serena/Calem though was pretty one-dimensional and everyone else had like one motive that we barely saw even completed. Team Flare was nice but it could've been better executed, I really liked the concept though. The ending however was really nice, not as great as BW, but still a good ending. That didn't save the entire game for me though. In the end, I think Generation V was the generation for me. Here's to hoping Generation VII has a great plot. Captain Arrowguns 466 Posted April 29, 2014 (edited) So far, generation V. The region, characters, and especially the plot were all great. That, and it introduced the world to this guy: Edited April 29, 2014 by Captain Arrowguns
SkyEmerald 73 Posted April 29, 2014 (edited) So far, generation IV. The region, characters, and especially the plot were all great. That, and it introduced the world to this guy: Uh do you mean Gen V? That's a Gen V Pokémon My favorite is Generation III, it has some of the best Pokémon designs, also it introduce the vital feature of Natures, as well as fixed the IV and EV systems of Gen II. Previously it was impossible to have a shiny female Pokémon due to how shiny was determined by IV's, as was gender. Shulk 8,623 Posted April 29, 2014 Gen II is easily my favorite. To this day, Silver STILL holds its own weight without the nostalgia. I love every generation, but Gen II just added so much, and had so much to do, that it would be impossible for me to say any other generation is my favorite. I mean, we get two regions, 16 badges, and we can even fight RED? I know that we could in B2/W2, but they limited that battle to level 50 and 3 Pokemon each for PWT rules. Not to mention it had my absolute favorite group of new Pokemon (Feraligatr, Umbreon, Houndoom, and Tyranitar are all still some of my favorite Pokemon ever). Gen V would probably take second place for me. I used to say Gen VI was tied with Gen II, but now that I've had time to look back, as good as it is, Gen VI needs a little work in a few areas. Hopefully, the next Gen VI game will fix all of the issues with X/Y and bring VI up higher on my list!
