This was the song that made other songs after this one evolve.

This one is sort of like the same thing though I havn't played the game yet.

This theme is heavly based off of the first zelda game.

This one has parts of the first zelda game in it with new parts added to it.

This one is an evolved version of the one in the first zelda game.

This one is new to the series

.

This theme is new just like wind waker's theme

This one is new.

This one is awesome also. This is my favorite overworld theme.

This one is good.

This theme is based off of it's legendary predecessor, A Link to the past.

What's your favorite overworld theme? :) Oh and by the way I think I forgot to put the four sword trilogy games and the oracle games on the topic.

Windwaker borrowed rather heavily from the original theme, actually.

The rhythm and half the notes are exactly the same.  It's just inverted, going down instead of up in some spots.

There is some variation from the pattern, but overall it's very much the same.

I didn't notice that in Wind Waker's overworld theme. Thanks for telling me that. :)

Twilight Princess and Phantom Hourglass both have the rhythm thing going on again, with a few note progressions that are reminiscent of the original.

Skyward Sword and Spirit Tracks, though, are their own thing as far as I can hear.  They had an awful lot of fun playing with the game's train theme through ST's music, which I greatly appreciate.  It's always fun to see what they do with new overworld themes, and Its awesome to see how they can hint at the past but still make each theme unique.

[edit]:

Sorry for going on and on about it.  I have a bit of an obsession with leitmotifs.  owo

It's okay. When people like you comment on this I get to know more about it. :)

My favorite overworld theme is either the Twilight Princess,A link between worlds or Spirit Tracks one

The Link To The Past overworld theme is not "Heavly based off" of the original, its the same theme but remixed :)

My personal favorite:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b3KUyPKbR7Q&list=PLSVwqIs1YKfjeFxhmhl318sxGEb-MRMcP&index=2

To me the best zelda theme I heard in the series was in a Link Between Worlds at the end of the game. It's so epic. xD
