AuraAce 1,126 Posted April 16, 2014 (edited) This is the first topic i have posted in a good while and i want to talk about a theory a fellow YouTuber has come up with but with some of my own information tacked on here and there, his name is HMK, i will link to his channel, great guy, he mainly does Theories on Kingdom Hearts, Legend of Zelda and some news and rants as well. Well let's get started with this theory, also feel free to contradict me and give plausible explanations as to why it's wrong or incorrect in any way, shape or form. (As a fun challenge, count how many times i say "Kingdom Hearts" because i will be saying it a lot in this topic.) To Start off, I will be generalizing what we know about Kingdom Hearts and some facts about it. We know that Kingdom Hearts has showed up on multiple occasions, we first (Sort of) saw it at the end of Kingdom Hearts 1, or well, the power of Kingdom Hearts when opening the Door To Darkness, we have seen it in the Great Keyblade War of Birth By Sleep and we have seen it atop the Castle That Never Was in The World That Never Was, you should also know that these Kingdom Hearts are not actually the real Kingdom Hearts but failed attempts at recreating the power of Kingdom Hearts, yes, Kingdom Hearts in Kingdom Hearts 1 was real but we never seen it, not even in the Realm of Darkness. Firstly, in chronological order, Xehanort's attempt at gaining control of Kingdom Hearts was futile because of the "Prize that he beget's" was not accomplished in the X-Blade because of Ventus defeating Vanitas on the inside and Master Aqua and King Mickey defeating Venitas on the outside, thus destroying the X-Blade and also putting Ventus' heart into a temporary sleep to rest within Sora. Secondly, Xemnas tried to recreate his own Kingdom Hearts by using the power of the Keyblade to trick Sora into destroying Heartless, one after one, collecting more and more hearts for the organisation, again this proved a futile option as Ansem The Wise used encoded heart data to destroy Kingdom Hearts, leaving Xemnas to reside within and eventually battle Sora, Riku, Donald and Goofy inside his representation of Kingdom Hearts. Now onto the nitty-gritty stuff. We know that in the world of Kingdom Hearts, 3 key elements are needed to make a being or a "Somebody" the person needs A Heart, A Body and A Soul. When a Heart is lost, A Heartless forms. When The Body is lost, it creates a Nobody. We now come to the Soul, we don't exactly know what becomes of a being who has lost their soul but what we do know is if a being loses A Heart, A Body and A Soul, they create an Unversed, a being Thriving on Negative emotions and Negativity in general. (Note, most of the following is HMK's Information) When you think of Kingdom Hearts, obviously, It is a HEART and the BODY of Kingdom Hearts is all the worlds that Sora and Friends have traversed through the series. Does that mean Kingdom Hearts doesn't have a SOUL? No. That is because SORA IS THE SOUL, Sora is the key to unlocking Kingdom Hearts because he has all these connections with people and with worlds. When you think of it this way, Kingdom Hearts is the HEART connecting Sora to everyone and every world and the World or The BODY is a vessel in which Sora, the Soul can travel sufficiently, why do you think Sora, "That Dull Ordinary boy." Was chosen in the end, worthy to wield a Keyblade? Because Kingdom Hearts sensed the great power within Sora and all his connections to people and worlds alike and knew that Sora would be worthy enough to save everyone from being engulfed by darkness and the Keyblade War (As off right now i am treating Kingdom Hearts as an omnipotent presence.) If Sora were to be maybe Sacrificed in the Keyblade War and merge with Kingdom Hearts, returning the Soul, Sora would be able to look after everyone and keep everyone safe. Here is an extract from Kairi's letter at the end of Kingdom Hearts 2. "There are many worlds out there, but they all share the same sky, One Sky, One Destiny." - Kairi If you are into ye olde Japanese meanings or are delved deep into the Kingdom Hearts plot as much as myself or HMK then you will know that Sora or "空" meaning "SKY" Which would make a Hell of a lot of sense if Sora were to be sacrificed and become this One Sky, this Omnipotent being who would watch over everyone and every world, providing the Soul for Kingdom Hearts, as getting control of Sora is getting control over Kingdom Hearts' soul, thus making him the Key to Kingdom Hearts. RikuFangirl2008 1,368 Posted April 16, 2014 ...... O,.,O Holy cow! That guy you spoke of, he may be on to something! I was predicting someone might sacrifice themselves to do something that has to be done.
AuraAce 1,126 Posted April 16, 2014 Basically the paragraph about Kingdom Hearts in general, most of the info about Sora being the soul and all that is HMK's idea.

The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted April 18, 2014 Wow, this was a very interesting topic! And yes, I have seen HMK's videos before, so I knew I had heard this theory before. Anyways, you may be onto something. It is true that Sora has connections to many people from different worlds, so he may indeed be the Soul of Kingdom Hearts. But, we have to keep in mind that Nomura already said that Sora will always be the protagonist of the series after Kingdom Hearts 3 concludes, so I don't think Sora will end up sacrificing himself. Instead, he could be deemed a protector of the worlds, like a sentient guardian that watches over all and can cross the boundaries set up by the walls that divide the worlds even when the worlds have put those walls back up. Sora is the key, and well, his soul lives in everyone, so yes, you may be onto something here. Sora will probably summon Kingdom Hearts' power at the end to defeat Xehanort, and all I can say is that serious stuff will be going down. MasterMac 13 Posted April 19, 2014 I am confused though. What about the old folktale of the light from Kairi's grandmother? The light that people fought over, was Kingdom Hearts and existed before Sora ever did. When KH was locked away all the worlds split a part from one another and only people old enough to know about the original Keyblade war (Master Xehanort, Master Eraqus, Yen Sid and Kairi's gma) know the secrets of the worlds and true legend. This being said, when KH was locked away, does HMK or this theory suggest that KH was locked away into Sora's body/as a part of his soul right away? Plus a minor detail about the unversed is that they were created by Vanitas specifically, go back as he said "Yes I created these monsters to lure you and your friends away from your castle/world." (not 100% accurate but pretty close from my understanding) And yes, you say the Unverse did feed off Vanitas 'Negative emotions and Negativity in general', but Vanitas was completely dark and evil (dark part of Ventus heart) and he alone was the one who created them. The reason why once he was defeated inside Ventus, the Unversed have ceased to exist.

waytothexdawnx 1,159 Posted April 20, 2014 SORA IS GOD Great topic and explanation. I always thought in KHIII, Sora would sacrifice himself to save everyone but not become the soul of worlds. I just thought he'd sacrifice himself, we'd get a tear jerker scene or two, then he'd magically come back. You know, typical Disney stuff. I don't know if you mean Sora's body would disappear and his soul becomes "one sky," but Nomura stated there will be more KH games after 3. Another separate saga after Xehanort. It'd be hard to fight if he's just a soul with no body.
Hyper-Rushe 17 Posted April 21, 2014 I don't buy it. I never really got into HMK's KH theories. Kingdom hearts uses Heart, Body, and Mind(soul can be interchangeable with both heart and mind). there are three creatures based of all these concepts heartless, nobodies, and a lingering sentiment(not unversed). the unversed were created by Vanitas from his negative emotions not his soul. Plus Kingdom hearts isn't a person so it doesn't need all those things to be, but people do. I think Sora is just the champion of Kingdom Hearts like Link. Mr. Boba 63 Posted September 5, 2015 So, I'm guessing I'm not the only one who actually agrees with this theory, right?
LETTERSE7EN 54 Posted September 5, 2015 Harry is a horcrux! ...sorry, wrong forum.. On a real note, I like this theory. Especially after that other thread about how Sora seems to be less and less important, and that he's just a regular guy. I like to think that is role is bigger than anything they've alluded to thus far. It's clear that he has some sort of special gift having all of those people be a part of him. Without Sora, there is no Roxas, Namine, Xion, and even Ventus wouldn'tve been able to survive. That epic scene from DDD where they all show up behind him, and how he gives all of his friends credit for his successes (insert inspirations 'my friends are my power' quote here). I don't know if this is the way things will play out, but i do like the theory and wouldn't be at all disappointed if it turns out to be true. 1 Mr. Boba reacted to this

And you're exactly right about Roxas, Namine, Xion, and Ventus's existences. Sad thing is though that there are people who believe that Sora is still ordinary while others like the ones in this thread believe that Sora may not be so ordinary. It's just some huge endless debate between Normality and Specialty. To me, this franchise is all about friendship. I never considered it to be about being ordinary and doing extraordinary things. I mean, COME ON NOW, you hang with Disney characters and Sora is practically bonding anyone no matter how stone-cold or aloof they are (like Neku, for example). Personally, it'd be more interesting since it could give Sora more of a character development and personal conflict of understanding his own identity.
