Blue Beetle set down in a field of long grass.As his jet pack was reabsorbed into his armor, he looked down onto LexCorp laboratory. They were on a cliff edge just behind the large building, and they would commence with the plan as soon as everybody touched down.

 

Mercury sat in the bio-ship. Gamma Squad here was on their way to Vandal Savage's last known residence. They needed to find out what his and the light's next plan was. Of course, she had never personally had any experience with the Light, but according to everybody else, the guys were pretty devious. And evil. Mercury nervously changed the water in her glass into solid, than a gas, then back into water. This was her first mission. She had reason to be nervous.

Secondly, I would like to suggest against Black Bat being a team leader. She's not well suited for the role. If you feel otherwise, I will try to make it work.)

 

{Red Robin & Ion}

Red Robin stepped out of the tall grass behind Blue Beetle seemingly from nowhere.

"What are you picking up?" He asked, his voice sounding a little deeper then usual.

Robin inwardly grimaced. Ever since he had gotten the new costume, he found himself emulating Batman more. It was brought to his attention when he went ran into Batgirl, who promptly laughed at him.

A faint emerald glow on the horizon got closer as a stealth bomber constructed out of green energy started a dive. Inside the construct, Ion looked at some monitors to see that nothing was picking him up. So far, so good. As the bomber got closer to the ground, it faded around Ion, who flew the rest of the way to the ground on his own.

"Hi, guys." He said in almost a whisper. "Not late, am I?"

Derek landed in his Red Lantern mode. Slowpokes. He thought. He turned to the Reach-infested boy. "Feh.." He muttered. The regular members probably knew about his rings... He had only a few minutes before... the urge rook over... and this ring hurt to take off... KILLHATEHURTKILL...

 

Braniac looked at Mercury. "Hmm..." He would raise an eyebrow if he had one...or rather a facial Command..."You seemed to be Stressed...Elevated heart rate, perspiration, and the fact you are spending precious energy into such a mundane task..." He looked at her more, noticing every curve and molecule of her body. For research purposes as He had done it to everyone else. "Fear not. The chance Mr. Savage is here is close to Nil. We will probably encounter a trap, at wich point we will face a minor group of baddies, and leave. Chances of death are relatively low."

Kaylee was at Happy Harbor minding her own business while having the normal life she wanted. As she walks she look around huming the song on her ringtone. "What a great day. No one finding out my secret, no forcing me to join any sides, just a perfect normal life." Kaylee said happily.

 'Holy crap these grasses are tall.' Sparrow wrinkled her nose as she knocked aside a couple of the waving grass. A chuckle echoed in her head as Hazel, the original owner of her body spoke, 'You're bothered by them?' Currently Sparrow is in control of her body as she squeezed through more grass. 'Of course I fking am! Because of you agreeing to this mission, I'm going through this!' Sillence came from Hazel and Sparrow sighed as she finally reached where the others were before crossing her arms against her chest without saying a word of greeting. Sparrow hated communicating with other people and never made a friend even from her own planet which Hazel tries to change that by accepting this mission.

Winter stood a short ways from the rest of the group, awaiting the beginning of their mission. He watched as Ion and Derek made their usual dramatic entrances, and Sparrow had an intense argument with... herself. He just didn't get the whole split-personality thing going on with Sparow. [Man, we aren't exactly a very unified team, are we?] he thought.

(Got it. I'll see what I can do.){Red Robin & Ion}Ion groaned as his power told him Derek's Red Ring was acting up. He had only been informed about some of the basics about the other rings and their relationship to each other, but he was pretty sure having more then one ring wasn't going to work. "Um..." He started to say. "Go." Robin said, without looking around. Ion nodded and flew over to Derek."Hey, Der..." He began, but stopped, as he didn't know this guy's code name. "Focus your willpower. Get control."Red Robin glanced back at Sparrow and Winter's entrance. He really wished he could have gotten to know the new faces better before he had to lead them on a mission."In problems in getting here?" He asked Winter and Sparrow.{Black Bat}Black Bat listened to Brainiac's insight, not sure if she believed his optimism. Her friend who was now calling himself Paul had given her some videos of Vandal Savage in advance of the mission for her to study, and she didn't think he would just run. There would be traps."Still, be careful." She said from her portion at the front of the bioship, not looking behind her.

Braniac looked at Black Bat. "That is exactly what I said..." He looked to analyze her again, to see if any hearing irregularities in her. 

 

Derek took deep breaths, as the corrosive blood started to seep out in little bits...he was a novice, so its would only work in slowing him down, but it would help..

Black Bat thought back to what Brainiac said, reanalyzing the words. Words were not her first language.

"No...you explained a... 'might be'." She said, turning around to look at Brainiac. "There are more...might be's. Needs more caution."

 

{Ion}

Cursing under his breath, Ion looked around.

"Come on, man." He said to Derek. "Not the best way to start our first mission."

"My calculations are never wrong..." Braniac said. "My brain is future technology, after all..,"

 

Derek calmed down. his hand slowly reached to take the ring off. Red rings are stubborn to leave, as it bonds to your most primal emotions. He screamed, as it was slowly removed. The ring part of his brain was fighting against him

"'Calculations.'" Black Bat thought. "Numbers."

"Too many,...um, unknowns to find answer." She said. "Calculations useful but...still not as good as seeing."

With that, she turned back to looking out the main view port, apparently not having a comment on "future tech."

 

{Ion}

Ion gritted his teeth as he formed a sound proof chamber around himself and Derek.

"Why did you even bring that thing?" He muttered as he closed his eyes.

He reached out and touched Derek, using his power to strengthen Derek's own willpower.

Impulse and Kid Flash

Impulse glanced at Kid Flash, he was surprisingly calm for someone so, well, impulsive. They were waiting for Black Bat to tell them the plan. The silence was only amplifying her anxiety, she started pulling on her red gloves. "Anytime now," she thought. Kid Flash was looking around, it was taking everything in him to stay still. Then he saw Impulse playing with her gloves and grabbed her wrist to make her stop but let go when she stared at him, it was always hard to figure out what she was thinking.

 

Tigress

Tigress was watching Red Robin talking to the other team members, she remembered Nightwing and how he had acted as leader on those rare missions when Aqualad was busy. She wondered what Nightwing was doing now. The words "We'll laugh about this someday," came into mind and she smiled.

Derek yanked it off. "Didn't...mean..." He said, gasping, as if he had torn off an arm. "They find me... "

 

Brainiac looked at Black Bat. "I know forgien and almost all alien languages. If you whish, speak in your native tounge... It matters not."

Black Bat turned around to look at Brainiac, raising a questioning eyebrow. She was distracted by Impulse's nervous demeanor.

"Still have a few minutes before we um, land." She said. "Till then, breath."

She looked back at Brainiac and tried the eyebrow again.

 

{Ion}

"Well, let's hope they don't." Ion said. "Just use the green for know, 'kay?"

Ion dissolved the chamber he and Derek were standing in and gave Robin a thumbs up sign, as he tried not to speculate how Derek got his green ring.

"Fine I guess." Winter said to Red Robin, "This time, my levitation belt didn't break until I got here, so that's a plus." Winter became a part of the team only recently and between a lack of time and not being very social back at the base most of the time, he didn't know most of the others very well. Sadly, this included his team's leader, Red Robin. [Oh well,] he thought, [as long as he's as intelligent as he seems, there shouldn't be much of a problem.]

 ((OOC: Ah my bad, I forgot to mention when Hazel and Sparrow have a conversation only they could hear each other. The italics means they're talking in their head or it's what they're thinking.))

 

 Sparrow turned to Red Robin who was asking a question about problems on their trip. "Oh it was just wonderful, I would love to walk a couple miles of tall grasses any day." Her voice was filled with sacarasm and bitterness, Hazel grimanced at how Sparrow was rudely acting toward her leader. 'Sparrow! You shouldn't talk like that!' 'Just telling him the truth,' Hazel sighed in disappointment, 'Just try to be a little nicer please, I'm doing you a favor by letting you take shelter inside my body,' '...' Sparrow knew Hazel was right about letting her stay here, since this was Hazel's body she can freely kick Sparrow out whenever she wants to leaving Sparrow wither away into nothing. Facing Robin once again, Sparrow spoke while her eyebrow twitched uncomfortablly, "Er what I meant to say is...it would've been nice to have someone help me get here since I have no way of transportation.."

Derek pointed his ring at the girl. A green aura shot out, creating a hoverpad. "Here..."

{Red Robin & Ion}

"This was a stealth op, so it was best not to use vehicles to either heard or found later." Robin said, figuring that the team was already blown by Derek's loss of control and Ion's measures to help him. "Though I'll make sure you have access to the garage for future missions."

Glancing around at his team, Robin was glad to see they were all there.

"Here is the plan. Though we might have been detected, we are going to proceed with the stealth mission. We will devide into teams and hit different targets.

Blue Beatle and Sparrow, you will break into the office and hack the mainframe for anything of interest. If you come across problems that require you attention, connect these computers to the cave and let out tech there handle it.

Tigress and Winter, the two of you and I will sweep the lab for chemical compounds. We will take samples for further testing and take copies of any paper documents of interest.

Ion and Derek, you two are the heavies and perimeter guards for this. If anyone besides us comes of goes, radio me or Aqualad, then check them out. Also I want you on call for providing distractions, extractions and fire support for anyone who calls. Knowing Luthor, he will have a heavy response ready if we get caught. You two are our tickets out."

Robin looked around the group again.

"Any questions or objections, now is the time to voice them. Otherwise, ready up and wait for my go word."

"Quick question." Ion put in, resisting the urge to raise his hand. "When you say distraction, how big are we talking?"

"All the way from weird sound to distract guards to convencing the lab they are in the middle of World War 3." Red Robin answered.

Ion nodded.

"I think we can handle that."

"Fine with me." Blue said in response to Red's plan. Seemed like a generally good idea. He glanced over to Sparrow. If he recalled right, this was the new girl with split personality or something like that. He could only hope that she wouldn't like stab him in the back or something like that. He'd had enough of that from his own back.

'I heard that Jaime Reyes,' The Scarab responded to his thoughts. 'While I do not appreciate the implied insult, I do agree that this newest team member may be a threat to us. I will keep an eye on the unbalanced girl.'

'You do realize that in order for you to keep an eye on her, I have to actually look at her, right?' The Scarab didn't respond. After Blue Beetle had managed to rebel against the Reach, the Scarab had shared with him many secrets, including how to communicate telepathically with each other. That way he didn't have to embarrass himself by speaking out loud. Jaime had lost count of the amount of times that would've come in handy before.

Mercury glanced back at Brainiac. He had been spot on. That was definitely kind of scary. She didn't say anything, but rather simply turned her glass of water back into a liquid, and kept her eyes on the controls in front of her. Then she spotted it. A large cathedral like castle, hidden in the forests on northwestern Europe. The bioship hovered over the building for a moment, before landing on the roof temporarily. Black Bat would assign the team members roles right about now. Or at least, she would read the recommended roles written by Batman.

Jade relaxed in her bed, under the covers, trying to get to sleep. Lian was asleep in her room. Roy wasn't in bed yet. She tried to relax herself, focus herself on sleep. But something kept her up. Some form of instinct, some reflex. But that was ridiculous. The little family presented no threat to anybody at the moment. Besides, it was doubtful anybody would be able to get past Roy, who was supposed to still be out in the main rooms. Jade had sealed off all other entrances herself, to only recognize a specific passcode and fingerprint. Some people would call her paranoid. In her life, if she ever wasn't, she'd have been dead a million times over.

Nightwing placed his escrima sticks on the dresser. He started undressing. He had just gotten back from a drug bust. Man it felt good to just take out some baddies. No supervillains, no complicated plots, no dead friends. Nightwing took a shower, before redressing into a simple jeans, gray shirt, and black jacket. He was back to Dick. He breathed deeply. Dick was going to go out on the town. Dick was going to have a good time. Dick was going to flirt, eat, and have a good time. Dick smiled. He grabbed his motorcycle helmet, and dashed out the door.

Impulse and Kid Flash

"A bit grand for someone hiding from the Justice League," Impulse thought as she looked at the castle. She saw Kid staring at her, "What is it?" she asked.

"I was just thinking that it's not like you to get so nervous over things that could lead to our very deaths," he said simply. This is true, when they were kids, he was the one who would get nervous and her that would calm him down. He was trying to return the favor.

"Shut up," she said in a playful way. She smiled.

"Mission accomplished," he thought, "I calmed her down."

Tigress

"I understand," Tigress replied to Red Robin. She knew he had been here before on another mission, there have been chemicals in the drink before and she was pretty sure there was still some chemicals in the drink. "Winter, are you ready?" she asked her other team member. Since she had rejoined the team, she spent most of the team's downtime with M'gann and Conner. She didn't know much about Winter.

Black Bat stood up, the seat belt opening for her. She eyed her team for a moment before speaking.

"Batman gave a list of, um, roles for each member." She said. "Kid Flash, check...perimeter. Join ground crew when done. I will watch your back."

She paused as she remembered the rest of the plan.

"Impulse and Mercury, start on the ground. Brainiac and Antares, start from the top and work down. I will join you when Kid is done."

Another pause.

"If found, radio the...rest of the team. De...depending on Savage's state, we will call in um, reinforcements."

Though her speech was a little halting, the glances she gave each member of the team showed no fear.

"Might've be traps. Be careful."

She walked to the main hatch at the rear of the bioship and with a wave of her hand, opened it.

"Timer start." She said before dashing outside and disappearing on the cathedral's roof.

 

{Red Arrow}

Roy sat in the living room of his and Jade's home, adjusting the stringing on his bow. He had been finding it difficult to go sleep, so thought it best to stay out here and not let his restlessness disturb Jade's sleep. While he wouldn't trade what he had now for anything, he did sometimes find himself antsy when he didn't go out on patrol or check leads on a case, though his biggest case was now solved. He sometimes wondered if he should start going out as Red Arrow again, but that held risks. And with what happened to Wally, could Roy risk that happening to him, and leaving Lin without a father?

Sighing, he put away his bow in its usual hiding place and went back to sitting on the couch. He wondered how some of the married Leaguers, like Aquaman, managed it. Balance being a hero with a normal family life? Roy's gaze swept the room from where he hid a bow around the room, noting some of the places Jade had hidden weapons.

"Not that we're really that normal." Roy thought.

 

{Red Robin & Ion}

"And before heading out, I want a comms check from everyone." Red Robin added. "We can't be caught without communication. Our comms go down, i want everyone to bug out, ASAP."

Ion reached up and tapped his ear bud twice, checking it was on.

"Comms check." He said through the teams radio system. "Working good, Rob."

 Hearing Red Robin's plan Sparrow raised an eyebrow, as she thought, 'Hacking? What's that?' 'Oh yea, you said technology doesn't exist in your planet. Well hacking is using a computer to gain unauthorized access to data.' Deep inside Hazel felt nervous, Sparrow never had experience with electronics and when she saw a TV, she thought it was some sort of illusion weapon and smashed it up into pieces. Still not quite understanding what Hazel is trying to say, Sparrow looked at Blue Beetle, "I don't really know what this hacking means but I guess I'll just follow your lead." Hearing something about comms check, Sparrow poked at her ear bud cluelessly. 'Is it on?' 'Yes it's on now say comms check out loud.' "Comms check." Sparrow said aloud, she was abit startled to hear her teammates' voices more closer than they actually were. 'Whoa so I can talk to them from reallyyy far away?' Sparrow was a curious type ever since coming to Earth asking Hazel a million questions what things do. Getting tired from Sparrow's questions, Hazel mumbled. 'Yes Sparrow, but don't talk too loud during the mission.' "So much things to learn." Sparrow muttered underneath her breath.
