Why Can't We Skip Cutscenes?

Why the heck didn't Square include a cutscene skip option for the HD Remaster of Final Fantasy X? I mean they went out of their way to include the cutscene skip option for Kingdom Hearts Final Mix but not for FFX HD? Why? I don't understand this.

They did not go out of their way for KH, it was already in the first Final Mix. It was not, however, in the first International Version of FFX

But it was only for boss fights. Not all cutscenes in general in the Final Mix version. They finally added the cutscene skip option in the HD version for all cutscenes.

I don't even know. All I know is that I'm going to suffer because of it.

 

One of the reasons I stopped playing the game a long time ago was because I was stuck on a boss battle. That on its own is fine, but the thing is, having to fight a boss battle over, and over, and over, and over again is tiresome. Even more so when there's a 10 minute long cutscene directly before it. I yearned to be able to skip that damn cutscene. But of course, you can't. I was sure they were going to fix that... and they didn't.

 

Needless to say I'm not looking forward to getting stuck on a boss.

Exactly. If I get stuck on a boss fight I'll have to keep watching that long cutscene over and over and over. I tbought they would fix this in te HD version too but it seems they didn't bother to do so.

...in Kingdom Hearts? No you weren't. There was no feature in the original or international versions of KH1 to skip cutscenes. You had to sit through them. I can't count how many times I've heard "Kairi's inside me?" while trying to beat Dark Riku.

Yes I was, I know because I accidentally skipped a cut scene while trying to pause it.

It was in KH1. It was the scene where Dark Riku shows his Keyblade to Maleficent. Before the Keyblade materializes, I pressed start, trying to pause, the screen went blank, and all of a sudden I had control again.

You don't wanna lose to a boss? Then toughen up and grind so you can activate more nodes of the Sphere Grid!

 

Enjoy the game- and so long as it doesn't crash or freeze, don't complain- at least we own a copy and can play it today unlike Sora96

That was most likely a glitch you encountered.

Cause, FF IS NOT KH. They don't always skip cutscenes, they've started that with XIII, but they refused to do that with earlier games. :|

I know that but they could always include that option since a lot of games allow you to skip cutscenes. Not just KH. I was using KH 1.5 as an example since Square added that option in the HD version of KHFM.

There was no feature to skip cutscenes in Kingdom Hearts. The feature was introduced to the game in Final Mix. Whatever happened to you was either a glitch or some kind of confusion on your part, because there was no feature in the game whatsoever that allowed one to skip a cutscene.

I think it was: You couldn't skip a cutscene until you had seen it before, and once you had seen it, you could skip it upon another viewing. So while going throught the story the first time, you couldn't skip them, but if you had to rewatch a cutscene, you could then skip it.

FINAL FANTASY X is amazing, but it's also easy. No issue here.
