_Albert3105_ 9 Posted March 17, 2014 I noticed on YouTube, if you search up things like "utada hikaru sanctuary" and "kingdom hearts 2 ending", quite a few videos that show up have their audio muted for copyright reasons. Dammit. Expect copyright muting rampage.
kingdomlanelover 494 Posted March 17, 2014 They have been really cracking down on copyright these days on YouTube, which to me personally is stupid. If the person is not making any money off of it, then I see nothing wrong. 6 Aang, tlrpttmn, Oli and 3 others reacted to this

These game companies just seem to think that we do this kind of stuff for money when most of us just do it for entertainment and as a hobby. 1 Aang reacted to this

MasterXemnas 2,285 Posted March 17, 2014 Fool. If you don't monetize videos with copyright, they usually don't bother you.

There's the automated Content ID system on YouTube, which can force the video into mute mode when it finds the song, which happened to be stored in a database. Fool. Right, but if it is not monetized, then it shouldn't bother you. I have a lot of videos with copyright music, but none of them are muted.
Nick Sideris 1,551 Posted March 18, 2014 Indeed . Youtube 's got a pretty crazy system that automatically mutes songs . But I do think it's possible to upload videos if you have made it clear that there's no copyright of anything . I've tried it .

Luckily, muting doesn't create copyright strikes and cause direct penalties on your account. Only videos getting blocked or forced to be taken down give strikes to your account.
