Kingdom Hearts: Fade into Light (Roleplay Thread)

Ghost's attack towards the Heartless caused it to roar in pain. However, it continued to fly.

 

When Brooklyn, Joel, and Gaku attacked the dragon, it began to shudder. Allitt heard Gaku's warning, but stayed on the dragon. If I jump off now, there's no way I'll reach the ground safely... The Heartless began to plummet. Once it had almost touched the ground, Allitt jumped off from it. It crashed to the ground, creating a decently sized crater. However, it quickly climbed out, and shot fire at Ghost.

 

"Now we can hit it more easily." Indy muttered. "Ghost, watch out!" He called to his teammate, as he rushed towards the beast. The stomach seems to be its weakspot... He dodged the fire, and stabbed at its leg. Once it stops attacking, I can get a better shot.

 

The Nexus Twins stuck with Ghost and Rei, fighting the Nobodies until Rei decided to just end the problem."Hey, I was saving that one for later." Annistha objected playfully.After an interlude where they watched the cloaked girl, both of the twins were glad of the appearance of the heartless dragon."Now, there should be plenty to go around." Annistha called out, beaming.She kept up a stream of Ruin spells and bullets from her gunblade at the Dragon's eyes, hoping to blind and disorientate the creature.[Nexus Shift]With the beast back down on the ground, it was Zale's turn to have fun. He ran towards the creature, blades ready.[Nexus Shift]Using the momentum Zale built up, Annistha took control and began climbing and vaulting up the dragon's face, finally landing on top of its head.[Nexus Shift]With a nasty grin, Zale switched his two blades around to reverse grips and began stabbing at the dragon's eye, a steady rhythm of one blade after another rising and falling into the Heartless.

 

A huge blast of fire and ice intertwined appeared out of nowhere, headed straight towards the dragon. Once they impacted, both exploded, and out of the explosion came Ember and Somrene. The two supported each other, Ember using her standard graceful slashes and Somrene supported with his brutal strikes. After a while, they stopped, and flipped backwards, landing nearby the others. "Sorry we're late guys. Ember ate too much at a food stand, so we had to stay and wash dishes." Somrene said, sounding exasperated. Ember smiled and laughed."I regret nothing! Those were the best noodles I've had in a long long time!" She said. Both the Ninja and the Beast readied themselves for more strikes.

 

The dragon was clearly severely damaged from everyone's attacks. It's movements were now sluggish. Indy nodded in response to Gaku. "Right! We've got this!" He shouted back. He backed up, then gave himself a running start. He slid underneath the dragon, and stabbed up at it's unprotected stomach.

 

Rei slid back beside Ghost, the Dragon pretty damn powerful.

"Pancakes. I don't have the energy yet to try to enter Dominion Mode." She said. "I need a bit more time before I can engage it directly. She breathed easy, and fired a few Pearl shots. "Also mommy called. Said she got blindsided by the Dragon and is hurt. She's healing slowly but will be here as fast as she can. So either we holdout or beat it. Easy."

Seeing the Dragon visibly reacting to his attack made Ghost feel a little uneasy. Something tells me I just got myself into a whole world of hurt. As the dragon plummeted towards the earth, Ghost was paralyzed with awe and being dumbfounded on what to do next. The resulting earthquake and crater shook the Sentinel-in-Training off his feet and sent him careening away from the impact zone. As expected from a student who paid attention to combat class, Ghost righted himself before touching down and sliding to a halt. He looked up to face the dragon and was instead greeted with the view of a wall of lethal flames quickly approaching him.

 

The attack was too big for Ghost to roll or run away, and in a last second move of desperation he quickly tried to conjure up a barrier between him and the dragon. Only a couple hexagons of the barrier were able to appear before the flames engulfed Ghost. The protective spell shattered under the immensely powerful attack, leaving him to take the full brunt of the attack as he gritted his teeth and tried to soldier it out. Covering his face with his armored arms didn't help much at all as Ghost was immediately seared with moderate to severe burns, but oddly enough his pristine short white hair remained undamaged. The fire attack now over, Ghost was visibly charred and steaming as he lowered his arms. Some of the burns were visible on his face, and the now pissed off student was glaring back at the dragon responsible for ruining what he believed was the smexiest face to have ever graced the world. "That hurt," he grumbled, reloading and aiming his arrow rifle one more time at the dragon, "Now it's my turn."

 

It was at this point that Rei appeared behind him. "Pancakes. I don't have the energy yet to try to enter Dominion Mode." his bubbly girlfriend started, "I need a bit more time before I can engage it directly. Also mommy called. Ghost tilted his head off to the side, but didn't quite turn it all the way to face his girlfriend since it now became painful to move. "I'd rather take this thing down. I have a sigil and a title to earn, dear." Charging his rifle, Ghost poured every bit of light that he could safely muster from his heart without killing himself into the arrow bolt chambered into the rifle. It took a while, but with everyone attacking the dragon, he was able to accomplish the charging with little interference. He felt weaker, but disregarded it as he once again leveled the rifle and aimed it at the belly of the beast. His sights were blurry, and after blinking several times in a row to clear up his vision, Ghost pulled the trigger and prayed that he wouldn't have to face yet another retaliating attack from the beast.

After the crazy portal maneuver, Joel still wasn't done. He sheathed his Keyblade, enveloped both of his arms in dark energy, and charged at the dragon. Before he reached it, he moved closer to the ground and pushed off into a spin. He stuck out his hands and flew under the dragon, inflicting more and more hits with each rotation. After that, Joel landed on his feet and regained his balance after a moment. He then summoned his Keyblade and stuck it into the ground. Grabbing the handle with both hands, he channeled energy through the Keyblade and into the ground beneath their target.

"Gravity Bind!" A large circle appeared beneath the dragon, which amplified the force of gravity and prevented it from moving any more. This would surely allow everyone to end this in a flash.

(Gravity Bind only affects the dragon, but I'm not sure if you stabbed it and just stayed there or if you kept on sliding, so let's just say that I did all that stuff after you scrambled out from under there )

Zale had to hang on to his Keyblade, which was still embedded in the Heartless Dragon, to keep from being thrown by the beast when Somrene and Ember hit it full force. Realizing that he wasn't going to do much good here, he pulled his Keyblade out of what was the Dragon's eye and jumped off.

Annistha managed a roll when she hit the ground, allowing the Nexus to be back up on their feet with no harm from the fall.

"Nice entrance!" She called out to Ember and Somrene.

The two halves of the Nexus studied the creature and was was being done to it. They both figured it didn't have much health left, but it could still pull off something big.

"Hey, Brooklyn!" Annistha yelled. "We need to keep this sucker's attention away from our friends attacking its weak spot."

Zale grinned.

"You wanna try some Dragon Tipping?" He asked, still talking to Brooklyn.

Joel sneezed as Brooklyn mentioned his name. "Well, that was weird," he said to himself as he kept his spell running.

"... They had better not be doing anything awesome without me."

"You take out its legs on the far side." Zale explained. "Then get out fast, cause I will be knocking him over and keeping him down. Dragon Tipping."

The Dark Half of the Nexus readied both his blades.

"Ready?"

"More than." Brooklyn was already off, already flying and cutting through its legs with high-speed moment. Cleaving through the left, and then straight-on stabbing the left leg.

Gaku started running towards the dragon who is occupied with Nexus and Brooklyn. 'I got enough power left for one more scream, then it's standard attacks for now.' Gaku thought strategically. He attacked the dragon's head with the standard 3 hit combo twice, then showed the side of the keyblade to the dragon. "I don't know if the heartless have hearing senses yet, but I know this will definitely disorientate it! Now Scream Skull Noise!"

 

As usual, while the ally's can notice Gaku standing still doing nothing with his keyblade in air, if one notices the electric waves within the keyblade, the waves move rapidly at higher frequency ranges, allowing Gaku to stun his opponents to temporary or permanent hearing loss, or in this case, stun the heartless from making any movement while trying to regain focus. Of course, the enemy can only be effected while Gaku's allies can't hear the Skull Noise's horror-filled screams.

Zale smiled at Brooklyn's enthusiasm. This was going to be fun. Darkness flowed around the Nexus as he prepared for his part of the tipping. He was surprised when Gaku joined in, then grinned even more.

"And there goes its inner ear." He murmured.

Still grinning, Zale sprinted forward, Darkness billowing around him.

"And this is how you Dragon Tip!" He yelled.

[Nexus Shift]

Annistha launched herself into the air, aiding sparks of light to her brothers cloak of darkness.

[Nexus Alignment]

With Darkness and Light swirling around it in equal measure, the replica body Zale and Annistha inhabited looked blank as it soared through the air towards the Heartless Dragon. The swirling Light and Darkness began to twist oddly around the blank face, to something that looked like a monstrous pair of eyes and a mouth.

"Boom." Both Zale's and Annistha's voice in perfect union.

The Nexus crashed into the dragon, discharging the built up power of combined Light and Darkness, sending the dragon over.

Annistha dropped to the ground, feeling like she had been walked on by a million elephants.

Knocked on its back and defenseless, the dragon struggled to get back up. "I suppose I'll finish this." Indy jumped up on the dragon's stomach. His Keyblade ignited, and he drove it into the beast's stomach. It suddenly stopped, then began to dissipate. The boy jumped back off, just in time, and the dragon faded away. He sighed in relief, looking towards his fellow students. "Looks like we did it, everyone." He grinned. "By the way... Never thought I'd see anyone tip a dragon." He joked.

Witnessing the spectacular defeat of the Dragon by... well... Everyone, Ghost disengaged his aim off the slain enemy and quickly casted cure on himself. As the green aura of healing enveloped him, the Sentinel-in-training quickly felt the pain of his facial burns soothe away and was finally able to crack a smile. "Not bad," he nodded at no one in particular, "But our target still got away. This isn't good." He sighed quietly, pinching the bridge of his nose and tried to recollect his thoughts shortly before the   traumatizing attack made on him by the now dead dragon. "Does anyone here know where we can find that girl? The faster we get back on track, the better."

 

Looking around at the students, Ghost noticed Annistha laying on the ground not too far from his location. Having this slight hunch that the girl might need some help getting back up, he casually walked over to the girl, slinging his rifle onto his back in the process. Upon standing next to the girl, the student extended a hand while smiling and casted yet another cure spell that enveloped both of them. "Annistha, you lazy bum. There's no time for resting while on a mission. Maybe once we get onto a gummi ship again, then we can all think about resting."

From where he stood, he scanned nearly as far as the city in 360 degrees, but all he heard as random thoughts of individuals and no static. Using the Pin to that extent took a bit of a toll on Gaku.

 

"Crap!" Gaku yelled as he fell into the ground. He puts his hands on his head in hopes of suppressing the immense headache. "Freaking headache!" Gaku once again yelled.

Gaku felt his headache decrease as Brooklyn casted Cure on Gaku. The headache became reduced to the point where Gaku can tolerate it until it would gradually disappears. "Thanks. The headache hasn't disappeared, but I can tolerate it now." Gaku explained. "I tried to scan as far as the city to locate the member, but there is no static, so we can conclude that she is not in this world anymore." Gaku rubbed his head. "I guess there is a limit to range and duration of using my Pin."

Lucas tapped his shoulder with his keyblade. "Well, that wasn't too hard. I thought it was going to be worse." He looked at Indy. "So...What now?"

Annistha groaned and looked up at Ghost.

"Blame Zale." She said. "He's the one who planned this."

She got up on her elbows and nodded her thanks to Ghost.

"We first tried that with a Heartless Behemoth." She called over to Indy. "Worked okay, but took a lot more force without the weakened legs and messed up balance. After that, we slept for like two days straight."

She gave Brooklyn and Gaku a two fingered salute before pushing herself back onto her feet.

"Good thing we were here, then." Indy grinned at Annistha, then turned towards Lucas. "Uh... That's a good question." He scratched his head, looking around frantically. He noticed a small glint in the snow not far from him, and upon approaching it, found a small, black pin, with a skull emblem printed on the front. "Well... I guess we can use this as a clue." He suggested. "Hey, Gaku. You know what this is, right? We might as well follow it, since it's our only lead."

Joel dissipated the dark energy as he approached the others. "We should probably go back to that cave and retrieve our remaining party members," he reminded the others. The last thing they needed was to forget Raidyn and Toshi and have them stranded in China. Well, they wouldn't really be stranded, but that was beside the point.

Joel walked up to Indy to get a look at his find. "It looks pretty cool... But how are we supposed to follow it?" Joel inquired.

The last thing they needed was to forget Raidyn and Toshi and have them stranded in China. Well, they wouldn't really be stranded, but that was beside the point.

Joel walked up to Indy to get a look at his find. "It looks pretty cool... But how are we supposed to follow it?" Joel inquired.

"Well... Gaku recognized it, right?" Indy asked. "He might know where it's from. It's a long shot, but our best option is to go wherever this thing came from. If an organization member had it, that means they were probably there recently. If we're lucky, we'll encounter someone there." He explained, hoping his idea would prove to not be pointless.

Toshi had managed to keep Raidyn safe while the others fought the dragon. By the time they had it defeated, Toshi made it back to them, carrying the still asleep Raidyn with her.

 

"A-are all of you alright?" She asked kindly without tire in her voice from Raidyn. Her thin arms surprisingly supporting the weight of her sleeping classmate well.

Joel had completely forgotten about the dragon until Lucas mentioned it just then.

"I propose we see the dragon, get Raidyn and Toshi, and see where that pin takes us," he said. "...Wait, we should get Raidyn and Toshi first, and then see the dragon." He wouldn't admit it, but his renewed excitement had momentarily pushed everything else into the background.

 

 

Toshi

 

Toshi had managed to keep Raidyn safe while the others fought the dragon. By the time they had it defeated, Toshi made it back to them, carrying the still asleep Raidyn with her.

 

"A-are all of you alright?" She asked kindly without tire in her voice from Raidyn. Her thin arms surprisingly supporting the weight of her sleeping classmate well.

"Speaking of which," -- Joel turned to face the girl -- "Glad you guys are alright."

Now that the gang's all here, we can go see that dragon!
