Kingdom Hearts: Fade into Light (Roleplay Thread)

"It's my first time leaving Radiant Garden too, you know." Indy sighed. "You're not the only one who's excited. I'm just better at containing myself than you are. I'm sure everyone here's excited, anyway. Right, Toshi?" He asked the timid girl, trying to get to know her a little better, too.

Toshi

"Very much so, I-Indy. Thank you for a-asking." Toshi replied, actually able to immediatley respond to her new friend after he asked her a question. She couldn't help but have a thick layer of blush on her cheeks while at the same time jumping a little after Indy brought her into the conversation, however.

Rei whined, then hopped after him.

"Pancaaakes...oh. hi Mister Moody. Whacha doin' under the Overwatch? It would be hard to survive leaving the atmosphere!"

"Highwind to Overwatch, we're heading out!" Cid's voice boomed over the radio aboard the Overwatch. As the gummi ship Highwind took off, Instructor Striker retreated within the Overwatch as the loading ramp closed behind him, sealing the inside with a hushed and gentle hiss. The instructor managed to enter the cockpit as the hum of the engines started to get louder. "Fly wingman for the Highwind, Ghost. Know your position for this strike team."

"I understa-" It was at this point that a gentle alarm ringed on one of the nearby consoles that was flickering between red and yellow. Both Ghost and Striker looked over the console and saw a pulsating orange dot on the silhouette of their ship. Striker's face scrunched up as he walked over to the alerting display and noticed the location of the blip. "Undermount weapon pylons" he softly remarked to Rei and Ghost, "either a missile is improperly loaded, or something extra just got slapped on. Ghost?"

"Master arm switch is off, sir. Must be the second option."

"Open the ramp. I need to find out what this anomaly is."

Ghost nodded as Striker walked off the cockpit and descended down the ramp, then immediately turned around and walked under the ship. As the roar of the engines died down to a loud whisper, lo and behold, he saw Brooklyn latched onto the Overwatch with a stupidly wide grin on his face. Utterly shocked at how he could have sworn that he saw the boy entering the Highwind, he nonetheless tried to restrain himself from laughing as he tilted his head to the side with a smile forming on his face. "What are you doing, Mr. Hotshot? For a smarty pants, you should know that latching on to a streamlined ship going at supersonic speeds isn't really the brightest thing to do."

"For a seemingly intelligent officer, I would only hope you would know my intention, but if I must explain, I plan to blow up in the atmosphere and become the first human bottle rocket." He replied sarcastically, then Rei spoke to him.

Rei whined, then hopped after him."Pancaaakes...oh. hi Mister Moody. Whacha doin' under the Overwatch? It would be hard to survive leaving the atmosphere!"

"Don't worry about me babe- I've calculated this out quite carefully. In my life outside of training needlessly I also am a part-time daredevil." Brooklyn replied. "Just take off."

As soon as the Gummi ship took off, Joel was already fast asleep in his chair. Hopefully he would wake up by the time they reached Twilight Town, or if anything important happened, for that matter.

"Don't worry about me babe- I've calculated this out quite carefully. In my life outside of training needlessly I also am a part-time daredevil." Brooklyn replied. "Just take off."

Striker stood there for a moment, perplexed at the seemingly suicidal student's explanation as he refused to get off.

Although I'm not really liable for this kid if he gets hurt... Eh, why not?

"How do you know I'm an offi-... Nevermind. No clear answer huh? Ok then. Just don't go blaming me or Ghost if you get hurt." Against his better judgement, the instructor turned around and headed inside the ship, waiting for Rei to do the same. After watching the ramp seal the interior shut, he once again made his way up to the cockpit. "Take off, Ghost. Just an anomaly in the sensors. I'll take care of it once we land in Twilight Town. For now, catch up with the Highwind."

Ghost eagerly carried out the orders as the ship gently coasted into position in the center of the hanger and pointed it's nose to the pristine world outside. "Lets see what this tin-can can do!" the student yelled, then threw the throttle stick forward. Thankful for properly securing himself and Rei into jumpseats beforehand, Striker immediately sank into his seat as the ship violently thrust forward at a breakneck speed. "Forming up with the Highwind. ETA to atmosphere, 8 seconds. Highwind, 13 seconds." The Overwatch started to shake rhythmically as it left the world, piercing through the clouds and entering the lanes between. With the world safely behind them, Ghost celebrated by doing a barrel roll, then manipulated the controls until he was in level flight formation slightly behind the Highwind.

Brooklyn could feel the speed of the ship, intensity's he experienced before, but not with wind blowing on his face or the heat on his skin, he found it quite exhilarating to be on the bottom of a ship nearing supersonic speeds, hearing the whistle of the wind through the wings. Once his ride had appeared, Brooklyn dismounted from the screaming ship, a moment before the sonic boom cracked, with his  keyblade outstretched in-front of him he made a small opening in the wall of sound, for a moment reaching a similar speed to the ship- it was a sight to behold, in a sense, the tip of the key glowed red as magma as he soared, orange locks and all blustering in the wind. At the tip of his Keyblade, a green light appeared suddenly, and it covered Brooklyn quickly and nearly completely like green fire, plasma coming off of the green flame-like energy. Quickly as it came, it left, and Brooklyn was now there again, normal as a boy falling millions of feet in the sky possibly could ever be, when his small ship- well, more or less it resembled a smaller version of the SR-71 Blackbird with grey paint and his insignia- a crossed sword and pen quill -in a greenish-grey color on the wings, he landed quite nicely inside of the cockpit and began flying his ship as well.

"My name is Zale." Zale answered Ember before the Highwind took off.

After that, Zale fell silent. He always preferred portals to flying.

[Nexus Shift]

Annistha sighed as she took control of the body.

"Sorry about my wet blanket of a brother." She said. "He doesn't trust anyone else at the controls of anything he rides."

She offered Ember a hand.

"I'm Annistha, by the by. If all the names get too confusing, you can just stick with Nexus."

Rei threw her arms to the air.

"WEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" She shouted happily.

MEANWHILE - SOMEWHERE IN SPACE

Zion appeared on the bridge of the massive Forward Unto Dawn. The screens snapedmon brightly as her biosignature brought forth life. As she sat in the captain's chair, her ship set out p the links.

"Highwind, this is Mrs. de Wynter. I'll act as Command and Control for most of your adventures on other wormds with the exception of Twight Town, my home. Pancakes, hands off Rei." She said once the link to Overwatch was set. "Anyways. The Highwind still flying ok? No hiccupsmor such that might kill you?"

Unless those space-Heartless come and attack...not saying that's unlikely, either. We'll be on our guard, Ms. de Wynter!" He turned off the voice for a second, and set the ship into auto pilot. He turned to the crew and spoke, "So guys! This is an important mission! One that will be dangerous, and could very well end our lives...who's excited!?"

As the Heartless Instructor finally caught his breath from the rather exhilarating take-off, he finally unbuckled his harness and effectively became Ghost's co-pilot as his hands started dancing on the digital glass consoles in front of him. Several warning alarms immediately caught his attention: Another radar contact immediately to the left of the Overwatch, and a radio contact from a very familiar frequency. Curious about the new signature that wasn't displaying any IFF tags, he glanced over the console and looked out the glass cockpit window, then smiled as he realized the shape of the ship. "Well I'll be darned. Never thought I'd see that class take to the skies again."

Ghost overheard the instructor's remark as he nuzzled Rei's silky head. "What was that, sir?"

"The Warden Class..."

"Hhm?"

"Ghost. Say hello to the pioneer of the Overwatch."

As the student looked over, his curiosity immediately turned into awe. "Warden..." he said whispered with a smile. "Never thought I'd see them with my own eyes."

As Ghost started pulling up files for a quick overview, the instructor promptly addressed the hailing radio. "This is Striker, of the Gummi Ship Overwatch. Don't worry, Ms. de Wynter, I'll make sure Ghost keeps his hands to himself." He heard Cid aboard the Highwind make his reply over the radio. C'mon man. The Highwind never fails... Still, can't be too careful. "Relax, Ghost. But do me a favor and keep your head on a swivel. I'll keep my eyes glued to the radar and let you know if anything happens ok?"

"You got it, mate!"

"Like my ship, you two?" Brooklyn asked over his radio. "Small sighting accounts in the past were all I needed to recreate this legend, although its been updated quite a bit on the inside and outside. It holds mach speeds about two times as long as the original probably did, an exelent cooling system hand made to allow for even greater speeds without damaging the ship, and a much higher booster output as well as more boosters to go. It's weaponry is almost nonexistent, like its predecessor, only having a remade version of the Thundara hidden and a Cura Dome on the inside as well to keep the ship from being shot down too easily." Brooklyn gave off his specifications as he clicked some pannels. "And that isn't even topspeed, for your info." He yelled into the radio, the cockpit glowed red as Brooklyn set the engine to maximum output. The backmounted engine roared intensely as his ship gained speed and shattered the sound barrier, a resulting sonic boom rustled many jimmys as it shot off. Like a blur, Brooklyn was already ahead of the Overwatch in his ship. Somewhere between the intense speed and the barely keeping concious, he finally thought of an official name for this ship. "Silverwind. Enjoyable name." He thought, the limit of his speed reached, he was about half way to Twilight Town when his ship glowed for a moment and changed shape, it resembled the Excalibur Gummiship, though far more armed and armored, bolstering gigantic guns, from Thundaga Cannons to Comet lasers. It moved at a crawl. "Damn, pushed it too hard without the new parts I need to install. I'll do it after we land." He thought, sighing a breath of relief. He had a Transform gummi in the ship as well, as he knew he might need more firepower and the Silverwind didn't have anything really of the sort, but it was also wired into the safety console programming to keep him from blowing up. "Shut down for three minutes..." He thought, placing his head on the steering wheel-esk yolk. "I really should install the new Curaga and upgrade some parts..." He thought.

Instructor Striker grimaced as he listened to Brooklyn's tech specs, while Ghost raised an eyebrow as he skimmed the data that the boy sent. "Sir?" the faithful student worriedly asked, "Why the funny face? Does someone need his cookie fix?"

"Gimme a break, Ghost!" Striker jokingly quipped before becoming serious again. "Warden.... What did he do to you? Looks like the info got leaked." He took a deep breath before continuing. "It was supposed to be a secret... The Warden was always about speed over offensive firepower." As Brooklyn screamed past the Overwatch, the roar of the engines made his smirk disappeared and was replaced with a frown. "Second generation engines... heh, my whole always thought about slapping in one of those engines into that airframe, but it looks like this guy beat me to it. But I gotta hand it to him, for a faithful reconstruction, the hotshot almost nailed it spot on in terms of physical shape."

Ghost unfortunately couldn't hide his curiosity on what his instructor knew about their gummi ships."So it was supposed to be classified, then?"

"Affirmative..."

"So... If that's the pioneer... So what generation is this ship?"

"The latest, so eighth.  Everything that makes this ship what it is, started off from that. I really hope all of the info on the other generations are still safe. The last thing we need are kids clogging up the lanes between with hypersonic gummi-ships-"

"What?!?!"

"You heard me." the instructor chuckled, "if we get into a pickle, lemme at the controls. I'll show you what this ship is capable of, if you don't black out first. There's a reason why we sometimes say 'Go Meteor!', and why your headrest bar is 4 inches thick and made of reinforced steel. We have the last true Warden secured in our hidden storage in a location I haven't visited in a while. I gotta say, it's refreshing... Seeing her take to the skies once again..."

"Can I race him, sir? C'mon, he's basically asking for it!"

"No Ghost. Stay by the Highwind's side. No exceptions."

Ghost let off a heavy sigh. "Yes, sir..... So uh.... Why not?"

"Because one, it's not fair racing a second generation ship with an eighth. That's just wrong." He turned to face the student. "And two, this is part of your test: Humility. Keep it on the down low. Showing off won't accomplish anything but attract unwanted attention. Just stick with your assignment, and if you're lucky I'll unlocked all governor restrictions so you can engage in an unauthorized joyride..."

"You dirty little teacher!" Ghost chuckled, "I never thought you'd let me break the rules!"

"Hey! I just wanna see all the crazy things you would do to celebrate earning your sigil!"

As both Ghost and Striker shared a hearty laugh, they returned to their stations and resumed following the Highwind.

(Crona stated that his Gummi Ship was faster than the original model, so saying it's nowhere near as powerful as the original would contradict what he said earlier. Could you fix that?)

Raidyn

"What are you talking about?!" Raidyn asked, now getting closer to Indy's face. "This is the most exciting thing to ever happen to any of us! From the first day that we discovered our ability to wield Keyblades, we were shipped off from our homes to the Keyblade Academy in Radiant Garden. We've spent, like, a bunch of years on that one solitary planet, doing nothing but training and perfecting our skill under the Heroes of Light themselves. Now imagine me, being somebody who has always wanted to travel beyond the stars, studying and researching the records that the Academy had of all the other worlds out there.... there are so many to see. And there have been many adventures that have been made by Old Man Sora and his pals in those worlds, too. I want to have adventures like that! And I especially want to see all the strong people that he met on those worlds too! You know, all the Heartless and Nobodies and maybe even some those bad guys that live on certain worlds." Raidyn unexpectingly calmed down after his tirade, and moved his attention to the nearby window, staring at the colorful spectrum that was the Space Between Worlds. "They're all out there... waiting for us. And you never know who'll you run into once you start looking around."

Toshi, still staying mute, couldn't help but smile as Raidyn let loose his enthusiastic speech, and also started out the same window he did after he was done. She obviously had a lot of the same views and goals in mind that Raidyn did, at least when it came to the worlds, but of course, she was better inclined to reach those goals and share those views with Raidyn himself.

Brooklyn continued flying, his system was still cooling slightly as he flew slowly with his craft transformed. "Man, this is a pane..." He muttered. "Of course I install the new Triple Boost G model and all the appropriate output thrusts, but I forget all the cooling and restorative systems for it... Almost like someone wanted to hinder me..." He thought, gazing heavily at the heat level on the display.

Rei yawned and stretched. "Pancakes? I'm tired. Where's your bed?" She asked, rubbing her eyes adorably. "I want to go to sleep.." the poor girl looked exhausted for some reason...one could only imagine what she had done before to get exhausted.

Zion, meanwhile, stared at the huge holographic rdisplays floating around. One showed her precious, precious Xion.

"Still no hope?" She asked no one.

Silence answered, and she tapped a button. "Hey Highwind. I'm detecting a contact speeding away, breaking the Speednof Showoff. Please verify it's one of yours before I alert the proper authorities and have it intercepted."

"In fact... I might even be more anxious than you are." He muttered. This could finally be my chance... I might be able to find her out there. I have more of a reason to want to go to the outside worlds than anyone else.

Radio fuzz, then a voice. The teacher. "God damn it..." He muttered, picking up his radio. "Yo, teach. Brooklyn spitting fire into your radio, and into the sky, the unidentified flying object. I ride alone." He responded, hanging up the mic, his cooling finally finished, he took the opportunity and shifted back into it's normal form and unloaded again, zooming across space at the same breakneck speed from before, he made it within the atmosphere of Twilight Town before he shifted to his other, thicker ship. He came in fast and hard, slowing barely slowing to an appropriate speed for being just below the atmosphere. He put the ship into the sky's jet stream and waited for the rest of the group to appear as he moved around the globe in the fast stream of wind.

"Ten-four, mon capitan." He sarcastically said the last lines, laughing a little. He was already bored waiting for the others.
