Ghost 1,857 Posted March 9, 2014 Maybe I'm just overthinking like I usually do, or looking into something that's really meager and trivial when it really isn't - but I can't help iiiiiitttttt. Alright, so, you know in KH2, the scene with Demyx, Sora, Donald and Goofy just before there fight? Well, I always thought that when Demyx put up his more uh...assertive..side ("You shouldn't judge anyone by appearance!", "Silence, traitor"), that he was just acting serious. To sort of fit in with the others, maybe? Like, we see him turn around, in the underworld scene too. He second-guesses himself when he's talking, seemingly unsure of what he's just said. The aggressive behaviour doesn't suit him, right? Again I know this is pooooointless but it still makes me think. We don't know enough about him or his Somebody so this is all just fun and games, but I've seen numerous theories on other sites. One question I found kind of interesting was, "What if Demyx really is cold and heartless, maybe moreso than the other Nobodies if possible, but hides it with an optimistic front?" Some other had also brought up the possibility of him being bipolar, but I honestly doubt that KH would get into mental illnesses. And then, simply, is just that he really was acting and failing. I really don't know. But I'm still weirded out to this day, when I see that "Silence, traitor" scene. Like, maybe the rest was him acting at being "serious" poorly, but damn son. That line was pretty convincing. I dunno. IS IT JUST MEEE haha Thoughts? 2 Anonn0000 and Joker reacted to this
Kaneki Ken 1,516 Posted March 9, 2014 I kinda find it weird. He needs work on acting serious if he's working a serious job. For all we know, Demyx is a laid-back person who would rather do nothing than play his sitar. Now, why do I have a funny feeling that Squirting Demyx will appear on this thread and ends up making sense to everything? 2 Anonn0000 and Ghost reacted to this
Ruby Rose 8,591 Posted March 9, 2014 If Demyx was just pretending to be dumb and cowardly the entire time, and is secretly a sadistic psychopath whose madness rivals that of Xehanort, that would be quite the plot twist Demyx's Somebody for the primary antagonist in the next saga! 3 Ghost, Anonn0000 and King Demise reacted to this
The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted March 9, 2014 You know, I had never thought about Demyx in that way. Wow Ducky, you are a keen observer of things. O_O Maybe Demyx just felt it was his moment to shine in the spotlight and he decided to spout out that: "Silence, traitor." line. But no one knows what's going on in that kook's head, so yeah, it's all a mystery. 2 Anonn0000 and Ghost reacted to this

MasterXemnas 2,285 Posted March 9, 2014 Fool. Demyx was putting on an act the entire act. One of a Nobody's main weapons is being able to pretend to have emotions. He also never really had any friends in the organization. With always putting on an act, and never really trying, he remained mostly heartless. Hence to reveal of him being emotionless. But he obviously grew some sort feelings towards something. It could even be bad feelings. Unless he is one of the Norts we'll see in KH3, then we'll know that he never grew his own heart. 2 Ghost and Firaga reacted to this
Demyx. 10,064 Posted March 9, 2014 I've always figured Demyx just put on an act making himself seem weak. Because he is lazy and doesn't want to end up doing anything. 1 Ghost reacted to this

Anonn0000 3,525 Posted March 9, 2014 (edited) Okay, this is a VERY interesting thread....Demyx being bi-polar o-o; ... I can't help but question what kind of somebody he might have now, too... Good topic idea Ducky ^_^ (also, been awhile since we last chatted, lol, i've been a bit shyer lately ; ) Edited March 9, 2014 by ~DawnStar2004~
Setrex 1,031 Posted March 10, 2014 I've always thought the "Silence, traitor" part was very strange given his character but only after I saw more of him in Days as I never really paid much attention in KH2. It'd be interesting to see if he is just some sadistic person just acting light-hearted half the time. I doubt he'll be part of Xehanort's new Org13 but it certainly is interesting. Dave 5,715 Posted March 10, 2014 I always thought of the line as giving insight to Demyx as a more malicious character than he lets on. People tend to get swayed by his seemingly laid back appearance, but keep in mind that most of what Demyx does is an act of self preservation. The closest thing I can think of for comparing him to is Gollum, whose inherent cowardly nature tends to make him look pitiable, but at the same time, he is devious, underhanded, and more than prepared to kill someone to get what he wants. 2 Ghost and Zola reacted to this
