VanitasTheBest 196 Posted March 8, 2014 I've been reading it since last year and I think it's pretty good, even though I hate unnecessarily shown blood and guts. It's the Story and the character designs that kept me on reading.I usually prefer the Manga over every Anime adaption, but I'll definitely watch this to see if it's worth it

Taeyeon 1,137 Posted July 6, 2014 Most animes tend to follow mangas a lot, but after watching that... It was exactly a match up there was probably like one page missing that wasn't present within the Anime but it was pretty minor, but man was that good nice fluid animation and everything. The humor was done perfectly too, can't wait for more! 1 Skai reacted to this
Firaga 5,947 Posted July 6, 2014 (Figured a thread was already made on this. Aw.) So I've got to known little about this show prior to it coming out today. Apparently there were trailers and artwork coming out and I didn't even notice it. Go figure. However, I read synopsis of what the story was like and combined with actually watching the first episode of the anime earlier today... well... this is something else. lol On the surface, it looked like it was going to be a typical shonen anime to me, what with the cheeky vibe and bright colors and characters and what not... then the killing happened. And you know what, this idea to me is also very original - a medieval setting (with very little medieval traditions being kept in tact, but whatever, its animanga lol) centered around a very corrupt government and society in which a team of assassins which to take down. Oh yeah and the team, Night Raid, might be killers and all that... but Goddamn, the opening has now made me relate them to the Power Rangers. Don't ask why. Also it looks like some of them has some quirky personalites. (Also, why do I have the feeling the big knight guy is going to remind me of Space Dandy later on down the line...?) Anyways, overall, I like this show alot. The themes of corruption and greed and control and all really make themselves present and combining that with the colorful cast of characters that are our mains will definitely make an interesting combo for it all. I especially look forward to how main boy Tatsumi is going to co-exist with Night Raid and deal with all the seediness and manslaughter.... though given the first episode, the latter might not be much of a problem... nor for the rest of them... I just realized, nobody in the main cast has any sensitivity towards death. ._. Well, Tatsumi does but he's still willing to kill without hesitation... Interesting stuff. Junko 2,815 Posted July 6, 2014 Awww i can't wait until everyone meets Seryuu. I think she might show up in epsiode...4 or 5 ish, idk. But yeah I was happy with the first episode. The only downside though is that i have to wait another goddamn week for another episode. On the bright side, a new chapter for Akame Ga Kill Zero came out if anyone wants to read it. Taeyeon 1,137 Posted July 7, 2014 It was nice seeing these guy getting some love in the opening Also they better decide on Tatsumi some what official color hues', he was green in the PV's, brown and green within the manga, and now blue in the Anime. 2 Skai and Xiro reacted to this
Kaneki Ken 1,516 Posted July 17, 2014 Okay, I watched the episodes of the anime. I have to say. . . I don't know how to feel about this. This is the same situation as when I'm watching White Pond Black Lagoon. I like the quirky humor and storyline, but damn. . . This has to be the most violent anime I have ever watched so far. The only thing I have to say is, I'm definitely gonna continue watching this, but only after midnight, cause I still live with my parents.
VanitasTheBest 196 Posted August 22, 2014 I'm watching all the Episodes and I have to say it's not bad. As usual, I really prefer the manga, for Example are the localized names completely screwed up imo. I mean they called "Schere" just Shelee or something. That sounds plain stupid to me. The japanese literally says "Schere", which is the german word for "Scissors" ... She's got a huge pair of scissors as a weapon! She was such a nice Person and the most fitting for the Killer-Job.I don't really want to spoil story, so read only If you watched all Episodes so far (and if you wanna see me complaining) The "latest" death scene (Schere), they really stretched that a bit too long. Also, the scene were the opponent sat there with no arms, laughing like a maniac into the sky - better in the Manga too. What also really got me in the Manga was in the newest Episode, I think. The Girl of the Three Beasts is a huge sadist and in the Anime, she skinned that one Girl with the Spear to death. That's the same in the manga, minus the difference that her Hobby isn't "just skinning" people. Her Hobby is cutting Faces off from people she thinks are beautiful. So in the Manga, the scene after she approached the soon to be skinned girl, she had that girl's Face in her hands and showed it proudly to her Teammates. This gives her doing a bit more.... "spice". I mean, she skinned her alive and that girl died from shock midway through. Sounds logical, if you get your face cut off.THAT really got me, I think I just wanted to vomit after that. Just the thought of it is.... ew. But I understand why they didn't want to show it in the Anime. Yeah... The Manga got really exciting because you never really know when someone's gonna die. That's also a bit frightening, because I don't want certain people to die, but it looks like it's inevitable. But still, I'll continue watching the Anime too. It's fun... kinda. Xiro 3,468 Posted August 22, 2014 I'm a bit behind on the anime... lol As for the name stuff, Sheele, Mine, Bulat, Lubbock, etc. are the official names/spellings. Sheele kinda works since that last e is pronounced. (I didn't know about that Schere/Scissors thing though.) Mine is the same as her name in Japanese (マイン/Main) phonetically, but it looks kinda weird. (Imo Mein could've worked.) And then there are some spellings that are weird (Run, Syura, Bols) and I don't know why. 1 Skai reacted to this

And all would have been well. Aside from that it was touching scene. As for the spear girl, I think the reason's obvious for why they didn't show the skinned face in the anime, And I understand why you might not like the localized names. Though sadly when they are official they are official...

I know that. I think everyone knows that in japan the english R and L sound the same. But this goes only for PRONOUNCIATION. That's common sense, I knew that already before I really knew what Anime/Manga was. And that's why I don't get why they localize their names in such a plain stupid way.Guy uses Water -> Oh Let's name him after an internal organ instead of the natural watercourse, whynaut. And even since Naruto we all should that sometimes the "u" is silent/spoken very quick in the Japanese language.Sasuke -> spoken SaskeSmiths -> SumisuBurat -> let's call him Bulat because simply "Brad" is waaaaay to logical.God. Damn. It. Edited August 25, 2014 by VanitasTheBest

Damn. It. I was mostly bringing it up because it could have been a localization error. And it really was supposed to be River, but they decided to go with Liver. While Brad COULD make sense as a localized name, if the writer intended for him to be named Brad, it would have been Burado. The only reason I can think for why they have Burat being Bulat is because Bulat sounds a bit like bullet. (I think I am thinking too much with the English language) Though that doesn't make sense with his imperial arms.
